  1. Well said K, and I complety agree. It's the only time you'll ever have a bridal shower, so live it up and enjoy the moment!
  2. I should add that I'm considering an hour long session but don;t know if it's too short or would feel rushed? but 2 hours feels excessive...
  3. Can someone advise as to how long a typical TTD session last if only at one location (sunrise beach session)?

And I'm having dress regret as I stare at that pic cuz that's very similar to one that I really wanted!! LUV IT! And def do the sweetheart! It will add so much to it and def adds a feminine touch! No worries... I will probably play around with placement of the sash on Saturday during my fitting, but since I'm flying solo I wanted to get some feedback from the lovely ladies of BDW. And thanks for your $.02 on the neckline. I think the determing factor will be whether or not the scalloped adge can be maintained as that's definitely a detail that I don't want to lose. But a sweetheart neckline is the only dress requirement that I had that this dress doesn't meet... we shall see?!?!?! I understand dress regret, that's how I ended up with this one! I'm sure you look beautiful in your dress. Have you posted pics on BDW yet? Yet another beautiful lace dress. You must post pics of yourself when you get one. We never look like the models and tend to look better. Yes, please find me and say hello. I would love to meet a BDW - May 2013 - Now Jade Bride! Thanks

From what I've heard from past NJ Brides, you guest will meet the WC in the lobby 15 minutes prior and be escorted to your ceremony location.
  8. Ladies - Thanks for all the input regarding sash placement. Looks like the natural waist is the way to go. This definitely eases my mind for my first fitting on Saturday since I won't be able to get any feedback during the appoinment except from my seamstress.

The higher up waist makes me look curvy. Which is the look i'm aiming for. We have very similar dresses. In fact I am almost certain I almost got this dress. I remember trying it with a belt also. LUV IT!! not me, but it was an easier image to manipulate and our bodies were similar enough and I was curious about converting my dress to a sweetheart. But this is if it helps or changes anyones opinions this is me in the sample back in October. I assumed people knew it wasn't me since the person in the dress is white and I'm not. But I'm 5'10" and all legs (torso of someone of is 5'5")
  10. <insert shrug> I think it may just be looped through. Give it a try and let me know how you make out.

Ordered it back in August, sort of under pressure...and now that it is in there are so many issues Im just afraid i made a big mistake. It is HUGE...about three whole sizes too big, plus I am 5'4 and it is made for about 5'8....because it is made so big everything else is bigger too so the train seems out of control and the tulle under the skirt is massive because most of it is being poofed out from four inches of it sitting on the ground. I dont know...it just was not a good visit at all. Even though it is a nice designer dress I just dont know if all of it can be worked out and I am thinking about trying to sell it and just buying something off the rack. I have no idea. I feel so down about it after waiting all this time and spending the money on it when i probably should have just gone with my gut and got something cheaper...but anyways, just wondering if anyone has had good luck with selling because I really don't want to waste money. I have actually flipped/sold a few wedding dresses (long story) but preownedweddingdresses.com is the best site, with oncewed.com and recycledbride.com as good alternates. But something to keep in mind is that the site won’t dictate the sale as much as the dress itself…overall poularity, style, size color etc. I was able to sell one dress in 10 days while another took 4 months. Also, keep in mind that everyone on these sites is trying to sell a dress. Of course every seller wants to get the most that they can but coming up with right asking is really important. Good luck.
  12. Kudos on the weight loss! I feel like so many of us have done well with out fitness goals and I'm sure you'll drop the last 10. I'm down 15lbs since August of last year, and now I'm just trying to tone up. It sounds like your visit to Vancouver was a success. are you pretty much squared away with decor now? Quote: Originally Posted by MrsHK I've had two fittings so far, with my final one next week! I guess most brides actually put on weight and don't meet their weight loss goals. But that doesn't seem to apply to the ladies of BDW! I order the same size as the sample which was pretty tight, but it zipped up. If I followed my gut, I woudln't need any alterations except for a bustle.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who is just starting the fitting process, I was starting to think that I waited too long. My seamstress advised that it would be 2-3 weeks for completion, and doesn't anticipate a 2nd fitting, but if it's needed then an additional 1-2 weeks would be required. I wanted to give myself ample opportunity to get my physique where I wanted especially since I’m wearing a mermaid. But my alterations are seemingly minor/basic; I don’t even need my dress hemmed.
  14. Soliciting your opinions please...I have my dress fitting this Saturday and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my sash. It full of beads and crystals and very similar to what is shown in the pics but the embellishment will wrap all the way around my body and I want it sewn directly onto the dress so it doesn't shift. Up until last night, I assumed it would be sewn around the natural waist, but after seeing a recent pic of a mermaid dress with embellishment at the empire waist (Kenneth Pool Romantic), I'm wondering what will look best. I played around a bit, but I'm torn...Help?!?!

  16. I purchased the wedding ceremony planner which was very helpful when drafting our script. It has sample verbiage for various ceremony styles and scenarios: family oriented, religious, symbloic etc. you can probably buy a pretty cheap used copy of of amazon. There were definitely things in this book that i couldn't find on the internet, so it was a nice reference to have. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1402203438/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=

  19. ebay.com preownedweddingdresses.com oncewed.com tradesy.com weddingbee.com That's all I can think of at the moment, but they're all pretty good options. You can also look to etsy.com. All items are new and some are really reasonable in contrast to inventory sold through a brick/mortar bridal store. Good luck!

I went into my session with my Fi in mind and I think I'm the one who really benefitted and got a gift. I have severe scoliosis and my body is pretty contorted as a result and I have a gnarly 10â€scar down my back. My photog made the things I hate beautiful. I was suprised as to how hard it was to pick my favorites because I honestly loved them all and this was even before final touch-ups...Just do it!
