The Official INSANITY Support Thread

Insanity is definitely a commitment worth making, and I know you ladies can complete it with great success. Just work through the DVDs at your own pace. Kara - regarding your back pain, never sacrifice your form... this is more important than the number of reps you can do or how quickly (pace) you can get through the workout. I had similar issues during my first week, and once i took the care to execute the moves properly, I was much better off. And around week 2, the nauseating feeling that coincided with my workouts subsided. The weight will come off before you know it and you will look flawless on your wedding day -

Love this dress and it looks fantastic on you! Any good seamstress can make this alteration and should be pretty cost effective. The only two considerations that I would make is that if you alter it after production, you may only be able to achieve a modified sweetheart due to the rouching (sp?), I would just confirm this. Also, one advantage of having Mori Lee customize this for you, is that the bodice at the bust line has a the cross-over detail which couldn’t be achieved in alterations. But the cost for Mori Lee to do this customization could be double if not triple and in all honesty not really necessary unless the details shown are a deal breaker for you. -

Justin and I both have our Bach parties next weekend. His will be here in Portland, and I'm heading to Seattle. I know nothing about the details, but was told to pack a cute black outfit and a white wig...Should be fun and interesting.

I just came back from my first fitting and absolutely love, love, love my dress (and my seamstress). I requested that it be made a little tighter at the hips, but she said that if she brought it in any further, I'd have a hard time sitting down (which makes sense); however, while standing, I feel like the dress looks a little lose around the hip area and doesn't put as much emphasis on the mermaid sihouette as I woudld like. It's not super loose, but it's not hugging my hips the way the rest of the dress does. Anyway, I left my appoint not 100% loving how it looks around my hips and I feel like I'll be standing 80% of the time anyway - who needs to sit, right? If you wore a mermaid/trumpet dress, how tight was it? Any problems with sitting, if so did you really care? Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Feel free to post photos. Thanks!!

I think it will look amazing with the rest of the dress and give it a detail that is unique to only you. This is exactly what I ended up doing because it's the only thing that my lace would permit. The scalloped edge was not a seperate piece of material, it was the was the edge of lace pattern itself so there was no option to take it off and put it back on. So the placement of the lace remains the same as in the pics, but the construction of the dress is now with a modified sweetheart. But what I wanted was for the scalloped edge to follow the shape/outline of the sweetheart. We'll see how it looks when I go back and my fingers are crossed. Since I have never seen a single dress finished this way, I'm nervous that it'll look stupid. But my seamstress wanted to try it first before cutting the actual lace, and I trust her vision, but if it doesn't work, we'll just go for the second pic shown.

My fiancé suggested the ribbed cotton undershirts but I know those will show and look horrible. we just tested this out Firday night and found that medium grey was a good option, but I'm heading to the mall in a bit and will have my eyes open for a light tan (nude) shirt which I think would be the best if I can find it. Granted he's not wearing a linen shirt, but a white dress shirt, but the issue is still the same. I figure if we apply the same rules when selecting a bra under a white shirt then then it should work for our guys too.

Absolutely beautiful! I like the modified sweetheart neckline too especially since you're placing the sash at the empire waist.

After 4 refills, I have the lashes completey removed and a new set installed. At first I thought I ruined my lashes, but after looking at youself in the mirror with the extensions, you get use to it and forget what your natural lashes actually look like. I took pics and compared my lashes after removal to the first before pic and they're the same...no shorter or whispier than they ever were.

I’ve been getting eyelash extension since January of this year and I love them. They were supposed to be a trial for the wedding day, but I’m hooked and have been getting them refilled every 3 weeks ever since. I will get a fresh set for the wedding though and probably a bit fuller/longer then my everyday length below. The pic is my before and after. My biggest point of advice is to pick someone with a portfolio of close up before and after pics and that comes recommended from someone you know and have seen the lashes on first hand. This is a skill set that most don’t have or don’t have the patience to do correctly. A full set takes my tech 1.5 to ensure that every lash is isolated and that they don’t get clumped together. Let me know if you have any questions.

Lol I am slightly worried about the lace detail remaining pressed and stiff (I guess that the word) I have larger breasts and it doesn't lay flat against my chest so I'm worried that would get floppy and look weird. If you have that issue as well then making it into a sweetheart obviously takes care of that concern hmmm... I can't fill out my dress at the top (not well endowed) so I don't know if this is a problem for me, but it is something I recall worrying about when I had on the sample. It semed like the lace had a mind of it's own. The scalloped lace extends so far beyond the edge of the dress in the front and back, and I don’t know if it has enough support to lay correctly or if proper sizing and steaming/pressing would make the difference. This is also why I originally wanted a sweetheart, I thought it would give me more shape up top and match my curves from the waist down. Thanks for your input. -

Okay, you Ladies have been so helpful and responsive that I need to ask a final alterations question beofre my appt tomorrow... I always wanted a sweet heart neckline, and it's the only characteristic of my wedding dress list of requirement that my dress doesn't meet. However, I love the scalloped lace edge detailing on my dresses original design and thought is was a nice trade-off. I've been contemplating altering the neckline to a sweetheart and in a perfect world I would keep the scalloped detailing, but this is an unlikely option based on the feedback from my seamstress after send a pic. So what to do...keep the neckline as is or sacrafice the scalloped lace and get a sweetheart? -
