  1. Hi Msvasq, So sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I will email you pictures but here is just a glipse above! This awesome tree is right next to the wedding site on the beach. For the cigar roller it was 350.00 for an hour for 20 guests plus 10.00 each additional guest (we had to pay for everyone in our group). We ended up getting about 40 cigars for free because he had rolled them and just gave to us. It was pretty cool. The guys loved it. The bonfire was 200.00 per hour and we did 2 hours. Then the bar was the silver bar package and we paid for 2 hours..I believe was 150 per hour for 20 people and like 8 or 9 for extra person. We did that for 2 hours as well and felt it was worth it because there isn't a really close bar open on the beach at night. The Oceana is there but still a little walk from where we were and we wanted everyone to be there for the event. The Oceana is beautiful, open air and was our favorite food. I didn't see any weddings set up in there and wasn't aware you could rent it. I did notice there is a back section that is probably where it will be and it is very nice. I don't think I have any pics though. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the places there honestly! It was all gorgeous. The bar service at the reception we still did have to pay for because it was a private event. We did the silver bar package which again was about 150 an hour for 20 people. They had about 3 waiters bringing drinks plus the bartender so everyone was well taken care of. The hurricaines with candles were 55 piece for small and 65 for large. Still a little steep but they were pretty. Your coordinator can email you pics of the other flowers options. They were all pretty but just a little pricey for us around 200 per table. We ended up going with the complimentary package and then adding on. I think we figured it to save about 600.00 by doing that because we hired an outside photographer who was awesome! HDC photo I would highly reccomend! Let me know if there are any other questions and good luck! Lizzie
  2. Dreams Punta Cana Review!!! AMAZING! Hey Ladies, I just returned from Dreams Punta Cana where I spent 10 days and had our wedding with 31 guests. I was so nervous about how everything would turn out but if you have chosen here..don't be! I had Yessica as my wedding coordinator and she was just amazing. The most polite, friendly person I have ever worked with. She absolutely did anything we wanted and worked as hard as possible to make us happy. I have tons of pictures if anyone is interested. We originally had our reception set for the Himitsu Terrace after our sunset wedding on the beach. The day before Yessica informed us that there was a group of 220 locals that had rented the ballroom (Himitsu is right outside) and that we may want to consider moving since there are so many people that will be coming in and out. They offered us the Portifino Restaraunt which honestly was the best thing to happen. It was air conditioned and just beautiful. I didn't think heat would be a problem in November but it was still very humid the night of our reception. We also had half of the portifino terrace which is just beautiful! We had a cigar roller (definitely recommend) outside on the terrace and then our dinner and dancing inside the restaraunt. The service and food was impecible. Wilkins (our bartender) did not let anyone go wanting another drink. We had the Beef Tenderloin with potatoes which everyone in our group just loved. It was cooked just right. We hired the "professional DJ" which was good bc they had a seperate MC to annouce you and get things going. If you do the regular DJ they just play music and are not bilingual. The wedding on the beach was gorgeous. Yessica performed the ceremony bc the judge was not available (kind of odd but apparentlyl this happens a lot just FYI) but he later came to the reception and remarried us and we signed all the legal paperwork. They said there is only one judge for the island or area so he doesn't always make the ceremony even though you are paying for it. She actually did a better job bc she read a poem and made it a little more ceremonial rather than legal sounding. I had rose petals placed down the sand, the chairs come covered but I brought some chair ribbons and she gladly put them on for me. There is a permanent Huppa with white covering on the beach that was pefect. I didn't add any other flowers but you could. For the reception, I had table runners and bows that I brought. Then just rented a hurricane filled with candles, sand and shells. It was very pretty. You can also get various flowers as centerpieces but we opted to just do the candles. The flowers for the bouquets were perfect. She painted the roses to match my bridesmaids dresses. Yessica paid attention to every detail to make it perfect! One last idea that turned out wonderfully. We opted not to do a rehersal or welcome dinner but just told everyone to meet us for dinner. They were able to seat us together and we didn't have to spend the 15 pp. We then did the bonfire on the beach with bar service. I think this was our guests favorite part. They set up a huge bonfire with lounge chairs all around. We just brought down our Ipod and then had a little bar set up right there on the beach. It was so much fun!
  3. Hello, We just returned home from our November 17th wedding at Dreams Punta Cana Resort. After reading many, many reviews we decided to go with HDC photo for our wedding. It was the best decision we could have made! Our pictures are amazing! Arnaud and Carlos were very professional and friendly. Carlos was just awesome as he came up with some really cool ideas for our pictures. Arnaud had the proofs ready for us to view 24 hours later and the next day we had all of our prints and DVD Slideshow. I am just so happy how wonderful they turned out. I would absolutely recommend HDC to anyone and everyone! Sincerely, Liz and Charlie
  4. Hi everyone! My name is Liz and I have booked Dreams Punta Cana November 17th, 2012. We are so excited!!! Still a little nervous about planning from the states and not being able to visit prior to our wedding. Thank you to all of you who have posted their thoughts and suggestions!! Can anyone recommend a photographer or if they liked the one provided by the resort? We are doing a beach ceremony. Does anyone have pictures of the decor they provide in the Ultimate package? Thank you and happy planning to you all!!!
