Hi, All! I got my confirmation today: April 6, 2013! So I thought I would start a thread for all of us 2013 Iberostar Jamaica brides! I will update this when I have more information/when we book everything, but the following are my details/thoughts: Date: April 6, 2013 Time: 5pm Hotel: Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Ceremony Location: Beach Cocktail Hour: We are thinking of using the lazy river island, having 6 appetizers, and an international open bar. 6-7pm. We are also thinking we will get one of the bands to play during this. Reception Type: Private. Reception Location: We are thinking Aunt Ruby, but not sure if it will be too hot. I am not fond of the menus at the other restaurants. Reception Time: 7-10:30pm Music: DJ Photographer: ?? Videographer: ?? Travel Coordinator: Ellen Paderson from Smiles and Miles Travel, Inc. Guest Amount: ?? Probably 50. Questions I have: 1) Has anyone found out if we can do anything after 10:30pm? I would really like to do a bonfire on the beach or something on the beach, but I think they don't let you do anything after 10:30pm that is private... Anyone know? 2) Does anyone have any experience with Aunt Ruby? Do they think it will be too hot for a private reception from 7-10:30pm. Also, is there room to dance? Update: Sorry all! I changed resorts. It was a last minute toss up! I have changed to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.

I thought I would start a thread for all of us 2013 GPJ brides to see what your experiences with planning have been and see if there are any questions. I just put in a deposit today so I am very excited! My details are as follow: Date: April 20, 2013 Time: 04:00pm Location: Beach Package: Waves of Love Reception: Private reception at the Blue Lagoon I don't have many more details than that yet, especially since it is over a year away, but I will keep you all posted! Btw, we chose GPJ/GPLH resorts because it appears to have a lot of amenities to keep our guests occupied (e.g., a beach, large pool, bars, restaurants, night clubs, putting green, etc.) and the 2012 room prices are reasonable (2013 prices aren't out but group rates for April 2012 are $126/pp/pn/do). A TA contacted me so hopefully she is able to find me some prices. I also took my brother's advice and called the resort and asked for the average group rate for past Aprils. The woman told me that in April 2011 the price was $127/pp/pn/do and in April 2012 it is $126/pp/pn/do. She did not know the prices before 2011. I decided to go ahead and put the deposit in for 2013 off of that and hopefully it works out. I am waiting for the TA to get back to me about if she can start negotiating rates.

Hi, All! My fiance and I have decided to get married at the Grand Palladium Jamaica in April of 2013. We are ready to put the deposit down, except the hotel claims that they will not have the room rates (including group rates) until June or July of 2012. I don't want to book a hotel that is too expensive that no one could stay at. What do I do? Did anyone else have these issues and, if so, how did you resolve them? Thanks, Courtney Mara

My fiance and I are looking to get married in Jamaica in April 2013 at the Grand Palladium. However, GP will not give us the 2013 rates for rooms and if it is too expensive for our guests to come we don't want our wedding there. What do we do? Did anyone else have issues like this and how did you resolve it? I am tempted to put the deposit down for the wedding, but then if the prices of the rooms double we are not doing it there and just lost our $300. I would really like to give our guests a year advanced notice, but the hotel said the prices will not be available until June/July. Does anyone know if the hotel rates for GP tend to go up each year?? Help! Courtney Mara
