  1. I found these on Etsy....http://www.etsy.com/listing/93415404/100-bar-swizzle-sticks-for-wedding $40 for 100 and it sounds like she'll customize the type and color of decoration on the end. There's also been several brides that have done DIY personalized stirrer sticks that look really nice. Here is a nice example from Coconoir...http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/78847/coconoirs-planning-thread-picture-heavy/10. There several like these on Etsy for extra inspiration.
  2. I don't remember the measurements so I could be wrong, but I think they are big enough for a towel. They look similar in size to the ones pictured on this thread. I think the larger ones are pretty big.
  3. I was just looking at the canvas totes at Michaels. They're in the section with the t-shirt decorating stuff. I'm going from memory here so these aren't exact prices. I remember them being close to $10 for a pack of 3. With a 40% off coupon you'd be at $6 ($2 each). That might not be exact but it's pretty close. I remember thinking they were pretty close to what I was going to pay on cheap totes for them. They also had a bigger tote that they sold individually.
  4. I am in LOVE with this Tutu!! Makes me wish I had a little girl to put in it!
  5. Thanks for the tip on the Medium Maracas!! I was getting worried about the space they were going to take up and I never even noticed they made them a little smaller. How long did it take for you to get your maracas after you ordered them? Right now it says the medium ones are on backorder. We still have a little over 5 months so I'm hoping they'll get some more. I'm not crazy about getting all of the colors, but I think I read somewhere on BDW that they would work with you if you requested certain colors when ordering the variety. Thank again! Great job so far!
  6. We are getting married on Saturday and leaving on Monday. We have friends staying until Tuesday but even that probably isn't enough time. I'd rather wait for it in the mail than have it rushed anyway. We're likely having the at home reception two weeks after the wedding. Do you think we should have it by then if it has to be shipped?
  7. That's great! I really like the frame idea. I was worried about the colors of sand getting mixed up. I guess if it's packed full it won't move right? Do you know if they charge extra for the sand ceremony??
  8. Ahhh that's great! Thank you so much!! That's what I was hoping.
  9. Thanks for answering that for me. It's so nice to have people with experience tell us how things go. Otherwise we're all here fumbling about trying to figure things out on our own. And thanks for the video! I'm looking forward to your crew taping our ceremony! How long does it normally take to get the video? We're planning a cocktail party back home and want to be able to play it. I just want to make sure we don't schedule the party too early.
  10. You're so right! It would be helpful if we got all of this stuff emailed to us after the contract and deposit were taken care of. Would you mind posting the wedding services price list?
  11. Since you're talking cake, there's a question I want to ask Valeria/Cecilia but it wasn't urgent so I haven't checked yet. Hopefully you or someone else here knows the answer. We're expecting 30-40 people. We are being charged $5 per person over 20 for the cake. There are upgraded cakes that are bigger than the cake included in the package and much nicer looking. If we just paid to upgrade the cake to one of the bigger ones would we still have to pay the extra $5 per person??
  12. My wedding is only 2 weeks before yours and I was wondering when I need to decide on that stuff too, but I assumed we didn't have to do it yet. We're having our reception at the Gazebo too. I've read a lot of reviews and I don't remember anyone who had their reception at the gazebo saying anything about the lighting. Are you sure it's dark? It looks like they set up lighting outside around the tables. Maybe that's enough to light up the gazebo because I haven't read anyone commenting on that. That's a good point though. I never would of thought of that. No one will want to dance if it's dark!
  13. It seems like everyone buys their vases and sand for the sand ceremony and brings them to mexico. I haven't asked Cecilia about that. I thought about doing the sand ceremony but I was afraid of how the vase would travel back after the sand was poured in it. Does anyone know how this works??
  14. Yes! Everytime I see one of these videos I get teary-eyed. It makes me worry I won't be able to hold it together when it's actually my ceremony. I've seen a couple videos or snippets of ceremonies in the area and they all seem to be pretty similar. I'm not sure if it's a standard script but my guess is it's similar to a wedding in the U.S. - each officiant might add their own little touches, but they're all basically the same. The video was on a wedding website which has been taken down. I just watched it a few weeks ago. I looked yesterday so I could post the link here and I saw the site is down. The ceremony was very similar to the You Tube video you posted. It's just not as shaky and edited nicely.
  15. There was a link to a wedding website (Alana & Tito's, I believe) in the resort reviews that had a video done by the resort videographer. I just tried to look at it and the site has been taken down. I did watch the video recently though and it was nice. The one you posted from YouTube gives you a good idea of the ceremony and the setup but it looks like one a guest took. The one I watched before is much more of a professional quality video. We are using the video included in the package and after watching Alana & Tito's video, I was happy. It looks like they do a very nice job.
  16. We are planning on using the portable speaker for everything except for the cocktail hour when we'll have the Mexican Trio. We're having our ceremony at the Gazebo so I don't think we'll have to compete with the sound of the ocean as much. It's also at 4:00 so I'm hoping the pool area won't be overly crowded. We're leaning towards the portable Bose. It's expensive (about $400) but we're cashing in rewards points on credit and bank cards for gift cards to defray make it more affordable. There's a Bose outlet about 40 minutes from our house so we were going to check there too. We went to Best Buy and talked to someone there to see if we could find something else, but there really wasn't anything there that was comparable. The Logitech looks good, but it's hard to tell how loud it will be until you test it. It's getting close to your wedding but you should still have time to get it, test it outside and send it back if it's not loud enough.
  17. I only see the 5 for $5. Am I missing something or did the sale just end??
  18. I'm just starting with my purchases, so there will be more to come. I ordered these spiral key chains for my room key/tip holders from creative ID supply on Ebay. They are great!! I know they've been mentioned on other threads but they are worth mentioning again. The colors are just as you see in the picture and the quality seems to be really good. They were shipped the same day I ordered and I got them in a couple days. http://stores.ebay.com/creativeidsupply?_trksid=p4340.l2563
  19. I made my first Etsy purchase! More to come for sure. I already had a necklace and earrings from the Bridal store where I got my dress. This bracelet matches them perfectly!
  20. For example, if you don't want the video that's included in your package, they'll give you a credit that you can use to offset the cost of the extra photo package or flowers for the canopy or any other add on they offer.
  21. That's awful! Makes me nervous for people who I know are going to drag their feet and book everything last minute for our wedding. Fingers crossed everything works out for you! Hopefully something will open up. Or better yet, maybe they'll give you a deal on the honeymoon suite ;-)
  22. I found a bright blue one too. It looks almost aqua in the picture.
  23. Here are the green ones on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Menda-Horizontal-Zipper-Closure-Holder/dp/B003IT6U40/ref=sr_1_3?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1333922583&sr=1-3 I just went to Office Products then typed in "green badge holder" in the search box. I found pink and orange ones by changing the color in the search.
