The Iberostar Veradero is the one that I have been looking at and that is about where the price came in I thought it was a good price as well!!! And I know what you mean I have been to Cuba for a Destination Wedding and it was horrible!! Oh trust me I am on Trip Advisor constantly! LOL but I think the Iberostar will win it is also rated the #1 hotel in Veradero on Trip Advisor!!! Aand thanks makes me feel better that someone else thinks that I have lots of time

Hi ladies, I am in Calgary and I am getting married in November 2013 in Cuba... dont know the resot or the exact date I just started to get some pricing for travel first I am concerned about the price that my guests will have to pay to come! I haev done/started nothing else I am feeling a little behind but also realize that I have lots and lots of time! I am excited about this site and now this thread... all the ideas!

This is where I have struggled the most, I don't think that I understand the STD I mean once I have all the information I though I would send out invitations, I guess I am missing the STD reasoning!!! I was thinking that I will send out invitations and then do a reminder letter just before the trip needs to be paid in full!!!

I thought about doing STD with a letter, but then I got thinking and dont understand why you would send STD and then a invitation I really want all my guests to have a little over a year to save and the deposit will have to be paid within 90 days of me picking a resort.... If I can ever make up my mind! I was thinking that I would just do invitations and forget the STD???? Comments? -

Wow thats kind of crazy and a little scary... I think that i will stickwith dealing with the resort to avoid anything likethat happening,I did get a little bit of good news my travel agent may be able to find something a little cheaper... fingers crossed... and I have a second one looking as well! This site is awesome to have some more ladies to talk to about all this stuff

I find it super overwhelming as well I just started my planning and have contacted a TA... I picked my location Cuba and then my month November and 3 resorts there that had everything I wanted... next I will find out the dates closest to my budget and then find out what the hotel has avaliable... I thin after all that is sorted the stress will go away and everything else will be easy! Destination wedding planning for a month and then small stuff after sure beats a year of planning for a wedding at home! Good Luck I am sure you will be happy getting married on the beach what could be better.

Great thanks for posting this! I just got an email from my travel agent with some pricing... I am finding it a little expensive, and she was saying I can book the wedding packages through Transat Holidays, which is also confusing I thought that part had to be done through the hotel! Man this was supposed to be easier than planning a wedding at home.
