I sent mine out exactly one year before my wedding... I could justify sending out Save The Dates just to do invitations later, and I already had all the information now with saying that only a hand full of people RSVP on our website, but we had 43 people book and my TA sent me an email everytime someone paid their deposit, at first I was a little upset, but I still know who is coming and then I am assuming that if they didnt pay a deposit that they arent coming... and let me tell you want to learn the true people in your life have a destination wedding!!! Congrats hexmshaw!

I shopped for my wedding dress there and needless to say didnt buy it the girl helping was horrible!!!

Well I wont be buying anything from there thats for sure!

Well the dress that I wanted was there, but the colour I want it in apperently doesnt exsist even though I found it on their website... then no one would help or listed the girl told me that it wont happen basically she didnt care, and then I tried the website and couldnt do it there frankly I would rather not give them a dime of my money at all!!!

I went to see if they have that dress and they do, but not in the colour I want, and the lady was so rude, this is the second time that I have been there, first to try wedding dresses and the second time that I have left mad, and not with a purchase! So needless to say I will not be going a third time! I hate bad customer service!!!!!

Oh I know, this has been a pain in my butt since the beggining, they wanted me to change my wedding date at the start of all of this becasue they can't get flights out... no way is that happening, my dad is driving to Calgary to fly out with us and that is all I really care about I think that at the end of the day who ever is there that booked with us is my number one and everyone else is second!

I feel all of you, don't get me wrong we have 40 people that are booked and ready to go and support us, but there are people that we thought for sure were going to come and they are still avoiding us... my FI's dad and step mom didnt book and didnt say a word once we sent out the invitations, they were here at Christmas and I finally asked if they even got the invite! Also my FI's brother who is supposed to be a GM is avoiding us like there is no tomorrow, no text's or emails, and this is from a guy that would stop over twice a week to eat our food and watch TV just stopped talking to us all of a sudden! And friends of ours who we paid an arm and leg to go to their DW 3 weeks after my FI got laid off not a peep from them either! I guess like the rest of you lesson learnt about who is and isnt true friends, and I have given up that the rest of them will say a word... but I am with the majority that I won't be supporting people that can't support me, I just don't have time to maintain relationships when it is so one sided! If you arent or cant go have a little respect and let me know what is the worst that can happen seriously, maybe it will save our relationship becasue you were able to be honest with me and let me know that you cant make it! Or on the Flip side, FI's mom doesnt want to come and has made that more than clear but she loves us so she is going to suck it up and do it although I am sure that we will have to listen to the camplaints for the next 10 months LOL maybe I will take Cue and avoid her until we get to the airport next November LOL Congrats ladies on all the up coming weddings and the ones past!

Ladies it is so hard to get a lot of information off this site about wedding sin Cuba there are a few!!! I have been stocking Trip Advisor as well, I did find a couple posts from people that were married at my resort and then just sent them a message right there on TA! Congrats

I am not getting married at this resort but I am getting married in Cuba, I think that is a good price, I know that leaving from out East is alway about $300 cheaper than leaving from Alberta... My wedding is in November and I have family travelling from Toronto, and my price for them was just over $1,000 with taxes but November is the start of the season so a little cheaper than February... I think with reading week and the family day long weekend that Feb is one of the most expensive months to travel south!!! Don't worry, for me picking the resort, booking the travel and waiting to see who books was really stressful, now we are a week away from our due date we have 40 people booked I got my dress and I keep thinking that there is something else I should be doing, but that is why we all choose a DW there really isnt much more we need to do! Congrats, good luck and don;t worry ask as many questions as you need to thats what this site is all about, and us Cuba brides need to stick together!

This is why I picked the Iberostar Varadero, it is 14 km's from Varadero so I figured that will give people the opprutunity to go to Varadero if they want! We went to a wedding in Varadero 3 years ago and it was at the SLS (name has changed now) but it was at the end like 30 minutes outside of Varadero, we did make it to town once, we went with another couple and split a cab ride, but it was still expensive, we may have gone more if we had of been closer! Good luck I am happy to see a few more Cuba Brides there doesnt seem to be very many of us!!!

That is awesome, I know that once I got mine in the mail I was able to breath a little better and I felt a little more relaxed!!! I have some family in Winnipeg, and unfortuatly there is no flight out of there for our wedding (maybe once the flights go public in June) So my dad is driving to Calgary to fly with us and the rest of them (about 8) will try to do something last minute, so I won't know until last minute if they are coming or not, so I don't think that I am going to count them... I mean I dont want to have to do things for 8 extra people just to find out that they arent going to be there, but I am a little back and forth on this.

I agree that is a great number... I was actually surprised we expected 20 and now we almost have 40 and the biggest surprise was that the people that we thought for sure were coming arent and the people we didnt have high hopes for are! I asked for RSVP's but didnt really get any, I think they all thought that since my TA was going to let me know, that was an RSVP LOL oh well at least I have something!
