I think what I am going to do is get a bunch of pictures together and go to every bridal salon in Calgary until someone has something! Thanks for the link that is a nice dress, when I search for stores on that website the only one listed is Toronto! Another idea is that summer stuff should be coming out soon maybe we will find something in stores! Who knows.

I got a Map of Cuba with a heart on Varadero and will get it printed for our guests to sign as a guest book and I also got a graphic designer on Etsy that did the map to create images for my luggage tags, I have been playing around in PP, and Photoshop but I am just not good at it no matter what, so I broke down and got them to do it it was cheap since I will do the printing here and they look awesome! Still trying to figure out what to do for bridesmaid dresses, this is never ending but other than that not a lot. I work way better under pressure, so to have 9 months is killing my motivation LOL

My biggest thing is bridesmaid dresses, I cannot find any in the colour I want (bright orange) and with so much time until November I cant make up my mind on what to do about this situation, I found the perfect ones at Davids bridal online and when I went to the store they dont do them in that colour anymore WTF and they were rude, so now I cant go back because I hate rude customer service people more than anything! LOL back to the drawing board again.

There is a website that I have heard a lot about, studiosuits.com they are cheaply priced and from all the reviews that I have read apperently they are really good quality. I think that my FI is going to order from there, the only thing is that you have to take your own measurements which he is a little newvous about so we will see, we were going to look around the city first and see what we can find and then go there if we dont find anything here that works! I actually never thought about weights for the viel that is a really good idea, I think that I will look around, I guess if all else fails you could sew little washers onto it it may work.

I work up there by the airport, but I live in Fairview SE Im sad that it is supposed to snow tonight we dont have any on our front lawn

Awesome, do you already have the welcome dinner planned? I think that I am going to try to get this organized as well.... I have to wait until the flight schedule is finalized because I have people from Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto coming so I have to wait until I know for sure when everyone will be there! Then thats where I don't know what to do... I don't pick the ceremony location until I get there, so maybe I can plan the dinner for the second day so that I will have all the information to give to my guests, I dont think that I want to do a second brochure!

I had to pass on STD I couldnt justify sedning out STD and then a month or so later sending out invitations, I had all the information so I went for it... they went out exactly 1 year before our wedding, maybe a little early but one less thing on my to do list, my mom thought that I was crazy and that it was too early, but I wanted it done and have people ready! What are you doing for STD'd?

Its cute for sure I dont kniw if it will work my sister is a brides maid and shes 6 feet tall I think it will be way to short, but it gives me faith that tgey are out there!!!

I am with you, I think that there is lots that I should be doing and yet I am not really doing anything... I just want it to get here LOL. Are you planning on doing a pre travel brochure or anything like that? If you are when were you thinking that you were going to send them... I'm with you the last thing that I want is to be paniced before we leave I want stress free to start as soon as we get on the plane! My girls will go with whatever I say LOL I am the last to get married so I have been there done that bent over backwards so needless to say they are in the owe me category j/k my problem is the colour everytime I find a dress that I like they dont have it in the colour I want Mango orange, I am having a harder time with this then I did with my dress for heavens sake! I just want a shorter dress, possibly with pockets, cotton or something similar to that and Mango Orange, I am going to wait until April and see if the colours change and then if not it will be back to the drawibng board! I really did want to do OOT bags, but I just dont think that it is in the cards for us, and then I thought about doing Travel mugs but my Travel agent is going to send them to all the guests from them so there is no point in having two! So I will have to think of something to give as a "favor" still just looking! I am going to take the minimum with us, I figure chair sashes, I will take some fake petals for the tables and possibly I dont want to drag a bunch of stuff with me, although there is still 9 months before so that may change! Where are you getting these shoe clips they sound adorable!!!

I am not doing OOT bags anymore because we have over 45 people going and I think that will add up fast... so I am going to do Luggage Tags and a pre-travel brochure, and also room key card holders! I have ordered the lanyards for the key holders and I have the luggage tags but other than that, I think that there is still so much time that I havent done anything else. I have my dress it will be here in April and still have to make up my mind on shoes and a veil... I want to go barefoot but I might need shoes for everything else, I want a flower and not sure if I should do that and a veil, and my dress has a lot of bling so I dont think I will need jewellery, and I still can't chose Bridesmaids dresses! LOL too much time to have to make a choice. I did make a couple pairs of Barefoot sandals and it was pretty easy so I may do a pair for all the females travelling with us, but I am not pressuring myself! britter08, where in Calgary do you live? Luckily for me the only mention of a trip for the BP had been a golfing weekend, and the FI is a "serious" golfer so there won't be much boozing and partying if that happens... although I can't see myself getting away free and clear I am sure that there will be some sort of BP. Oh man I hadn't even really started thinking about it until now. Well I guess the plan will be to go out the same night to kwwp myself busy! I havn't and dont want to hear stories about them all I know is that they don't take pictures because then there is evidence, seriously this SUCKS!

Well luckily we dont have to provide that until final payment is due... but none the less annoying! And your right I am proud that I go to work, and I dont honestly care what she thinks, their relationship isnt the best anyways, and I can tell you ladies that if she doesnt get it together and get her passport and put on a happy face I dont think that there will be a relationship if she doesnt come! But only time will tell! We have 44 people booked to come and share our day, people that want to be there, (with the few that werent invited about 4 and actually I dont even know them but I've decided to make the best of it) and I will be happy with that!

LOL that is what I was thinking... we also put the clause in that we paid the deposit but not another cent until she gets her passport! The worst part is that she doesnt even like me, she wishes that her son was marring a 50's housewife that cooked and cleaned and brought him his pipe and slippers when he gets home, does this even exsist anymore? It is beyond me, there is no way in the city I live in that one person can stay home it takes two incomes to live, plus that isnt me I dont want to stay home! Well it makes me feel a little better knowing that I am not the only one paying for my MIL... @ avonladee, I am with you not only will she not be getting us anything, everytime I see her I get a guilt trip about how she is doing this for "us" and how much she really doesnt even want to be there and is going to spend the whole week in her room, are you kidding me this trip is free for you get your head out of your a** and deal, oh please you have it so hard a free trip to Cuba to watch your son get married wo is me... and you know what if you hate it so much either a) dont come and deal with the fact that everyone will think that you are selfish or go shut up and put a fake smile on your face everytime you see me, or I will kill you LMAO ok a little harsh but I am annoyed! You are right it has been the most frustrating experience this far, I can't believe that people are so not willing to do the RSVP I guess the assume that if they dont book you will know that they arent coming, the 3 people that did RSVP to me, havent even booked with my travel agant so I am not sure what that is about I am going to assume for now that they are making their own arragenments LOL But hey I read and re read that no one does it and I still stayed positive as I could until it happened to me!

Yeah that is my FI family drama, to the point where his dad and step mom arent coming because of it... I told them to pull up their big girl panties and put it aside, it is a big resort I am not asking them to hold hands and sing a song together, but they for whatever reason cant do it! My parents have been divorced forever and they arent each others biggest fans but they realize that this is bigger than the two of them and neither one of them want to miss the important day! Like it should be, and I dont understand how his father will explain that later in life, I missed my sons wedding becuase his mom was there, give me a break, if it was a money thing then fine we can understand that, but petty crap is what it is. on a side note, I didnt want a shower either but have been told that isnt my call... just like I didnt want to go to the bridal show and I didnt want a big group while I tried on dresses, apperently I dont get choices its not like I'm the bride or anything LMAO

Well I am glad that I am not the only one that is having the uninvited guest problem, I got an updated list from my TA (apperently no one knows how to RSVP) and there were 3 people on it that I have no idea who they are... with a little detective work I found out that it was one of the single girls that I invited that invites some of her friends (PS she is in her 40's you would think that she would know better). Also this weekend we were out with my FI sister and some friends when we found out that his mother invited his aunt and didnt even run this by us... we are the ones paying for her to come AND she has done nothing but complain that she HAS to go but doesnt even want to, she told us that she was going to spend the entire week in her room (on our dollar) so when my FI called her yesterday to figure out the aunt situation, his mom said and I quote, well if I have to be there then you should want me to have someone there that I want to spend time with! Are you kidding me, what about your SON and his future wife... ahhh that feels better!!! as you can tell there is a little tension between her and I, she figures if it wasnt for me, FI would marry someone that would make the perfect 50's housewife and stay home and cook and clean for her "little" boy... I saw one of those ecards, be nice to your daughter in law, she is sleeping with the person that will choose your retierment home LMAO. thanks ladies it helped to get it out!!! I am bitting my lip and playing nice, but I have put out full disclaimer that if anyone messes with me the week of the wedding I can kill them (or at least tell them what I have been holding in for 10 months LOL)
