Hey Jenni, thanks! One of my friends who came down is a hairdresser and did it for me. I did see a TON of weddings the two weeks I was there and the spa did a great job on everyone elses. I got my makeup done at the spa. For $20 extra you can have the makeup artist come to your room...I figured it was worth the extra money to not have to worry about running around day of.

So, i'm trying to find a photographer but don't want to pay the stupid vendor fee of $800. I just checked the pricing for 3 nights at the Azul during my wedding and it's only $520 taxes in for single occupancy. Would this be a loophole to not having to pay the $800 if I book the photographer a room for 3 nights (even if it doesn't get used)? It's still cheaper than giving Azul $$. Do you think this would be allowed?
 

- Paper Lanterns. I am bringing 30 I bought from justartifacts.com. I am making my own LED throwies.

- $50 per pole for the string lights is a rip off. I'm bringing those as well. You can get them for about $15 a string if you wait until the end of season sales.

- We are having our reception at Plaza zavas as well. I asked about floating candles and the WC they were ok. I bought 25 from justartifacts.com as well.

- We are having the ceremony at Zocalo beach (far left side if looking at the water). Guests will then go to the right side of beach to the Yoga platform for the cocktail party then up those stairs to Plaza Zavas. I wanted everything to flow nicely instead of dragging guests around the resort. This was the best option.

Any other ideas? One more thing, we were going to have our cocktail party at Plaza Zavas and reception in Zocalo Alfresco but since we have moved the reception to Plaza Zavas, should we move the cocktail party to the beach or somewhere else? Thanks so much for the help! Happy planning!!

Has anyone brought their own wine for the reception? I just got the wine list from AS and the prices are a little ridiculous ($55 for a bottle of Malbec that I can get here for under $12). We want to have a bottle of red and white at each table but that would come out to over $1000 just for wine! We are hoping to go to town once we're there and pick up a few cases. Does anyone know if the AS allows this?

My friend bought a Pronovias Medina dress in 2009 and ended up getting a different one to use for her wedding. She didn't think about selling it back then, so I'm helping her out now.

The dress is brand new, never worn and she still has the receipt for it. It's been hung on the original hanger in the closet for a few years and is in perfect condition. The dress is VERY figure flattering! I would have bought it from her except I'm a size 12 and it doesn't fit.

I ran into the same issue with Sunwing Vacations. They gave me the best quote but then required that I put down $150 per guest to hold their spot. This had to be done within 14 days! How on earth can they possibly expect me to know who was coming within that time and if i quote too many, I lose my deposit!?! I then went to Flight Centre, sent them the quote Sunwing gave me and got the same price plus the put $400 down to hold 30 seats for 90 days. We booked right away and are getting married this October 3rd, 2012! So excited.
