Hey Jenni, thanks! One of my friends who came down is a hairdresser and did it for me. I did see a TON of weddings the two weeks I was there and the spa did a great job on everyone elses. I got my makeup done at the spa. For $20 extra you can have the makeup artist come to your room...I figured it was worth the extra money to not have to worry about running around day of.

So, i'm trying to find a photographer but don't want to pay the stupid vendor fee of $800. I just checked the pricing for 3 nights at the Azul during my wedding and it's only $520 taxes in for single occupancy. Would this be a loophole to not having to pay the $800 if I book the photographer a room for 3 nights (even if it doesn't get used)? It's still cheaper than giving Azul $$. Do you think this would be allowed?

- Paper Lanterns. I am bringing 30 I bought from justartifacts.com. I am making my own LED throwies. - $50 per pole for the string lights is a rip off. I'm bringing those as well. You can get them for about $15 a string if you wait until the end of season sales. - We are having our reception at Plaza zavas as well. I asked about floating candles and the WC they were ok. I bought 25 from justartifacts.com as well. - We are having the ceremony at Zocalo beach (far left side if looking at the water). Guests will then go to the right side of beach to the Yoga platform for the cocktail party then up those stairs to Plaza Zavas. I wanted everything to flow nicely instead of dragging guests around the resort. This was the best option. Hope this helped!

Has anyone brought their own wine for the reception? I just got the wine list from AS and the prices are a little ridiculous ($55 for a bottle of Malbec that I can get here for under $12). We want to have a bottle of red and white at each table but that would come out to over $1000 just for wine! We are hoping to go to town once we're there and pick up a few cases. Does anyone know if the AS allows this?
