  1. After my TA intervened, I ended up hearing back from someone (I think the manager of my original coordinator) last night. She said that the day I wanted is popular since it's a Saturday and asked if there were any other days I could live with. I responded with any other Saturdays in May, then any other Sundays, then any other Fridays. I hope they will give me a variety to choose from since I am trying to be open. Is anyone getting the reception package at the Wet Bar or Parrot Bar Terrace? The package includes national open bar for 40 people and sound system and tables for $500 per hour. I'm assuming the DJ is extra even though the sound system is already there? SO, you pay the $500/hr, but then you are obligated to get the dj for an additional $600 (unless you byodj)? Thank you ladies so much for your help! Yall have taken me from about a 7.5 on the panic scale down to about a 5! LOL! :-D
  2. Congratulations Punta Date on getting that set! I'm still on pins and needles!!!
  3. Congratulations Bubbles on your confirmed date and time! Yes, I got so frustrated that I emailed my travel agent and she is now on them! No luck yet on getting any responses though :-(
  4. Hi Tara! I have been reading through many posts trying to get answers to some of the questions I've had about the details at ME, PC DR (did you have trouble getting answers to your questions and booking your time slot???) Anyway, your wedding has almost the exact agenda as what I want for mine: Beach Ceremony, Steakhouse dinner, Reception at Wet Bar OR Parrot Bar (whichever is available). We are estimating about 70 guests. I am estimating an extra $125 for dinner since we're over 60 people, and then $500 times 3 hours for the reception is $1500, plus an extra 30 people at the reception at ~45 each is $1350. SO, civil ceremony (1250) + dinner (125) + 3 hour wetbar/parrot bar reception (1500) + additional people over allowed 40 (1350) will cost a base of $4225 for the wedding. Does that sound right? The "wedding packages" brochure they sent said that the wedding packages included the sound system; does this include the DJ also? Or do you have to pay extra for that? How did this turn out for you? Did you do a symbolic or a civil ceremony? Thanks in advance for your help!!! Kind regards, Chrystine
  5. Hello Ladies!!!! I have just "tentatively" decided to have my... uhem "our" wedding at the Majestic Elegance after a disappointing turn of events with our original plans at Breezes, Curacao. I called and sent two emails to ME on Friday trying to get information. I got a reply on Monday and immediately responded with questions. I then sent another email and called them to ask if I could secure a date and time, but they said it could only be handled through email. It is now Wednesday and I still haven't heard anything. I want to get married next May and want to get the spot reserved before there is no more availability. Has anyone else had any trouble communicating with them? Any suggestions? I think I will relax once I have our date locked in but right now I'm on pins and needles waiting for replies! OK, I'll take a deep breath now! LOL! -Chrystine
