Yeah apparently it is only the smaller Palace resorts that have a list. For Moon Palace the only authorized dealer is Smile Market, unless you want to pay the 2 nights for them to stay there. I am asking Dean Sanderson, the photographer I would LOVE to book, if he can think of something. If not, I may just get the cheapest one, get my sister to help with pictures and give everyone disposable cameras, and then just get Dean to do the trash the dress session. Seems really crappy that they would put so many barriers for us.

WOOO on days like today, when it has been snowing all dayyy looong, I am so glad to be going somewhere warm for my wedding. October, you can't come any sooner!!

Hi JennyLynn: I am literally on the phone with Ivis and she said that last year people were able to get a room for one night for the photographer in order to allow them to photograph the resort. She just told me that was a 2011 thing and that for 2012 they have to stay 2 nights!! Apparently they have a list of which photographer companies can come in as outside vendors and pay only the day pass. She is trying to get it for me so we will see what she says. GRRR! Btw, the only way to get a hold of Ivis or anyone there is to call and leave a message with the receptionist of be lucky enough to get them to answer the phone.

Hi Gina Bina: I believe as long as you book any Colin Cowie wedding package, except the Nautical and the Complimentary, you can use your full $1500 resort credits towards upgrades and such (has to be full amount). But I find it's ridiculous the prices they ask for that so instead I am getting the Complimentary wedding and bringing in most of the decor myself ( I added it up and lights, lanterns, centre pieces, etc - without fresh flowers - is WAY less than 1000 dollars, so I didn't waste my money on their wedding packages since they didn't even allow for alterations and the colou suck). I asked Ivis how some people were able to pay $400 to bring in the photographer into the resort and how she had written that they have to be a guest in the resort instead, so she said she will look into it, since it may be a rule that has changed since a lot of stuff is changing this year. I will let you know.

Sorry I meant to say you can open a "Give a Cash Gift" (which uses Paypal so you know the money is secure) -
To registry or not to registry??

What I did was use http://www.myregistry.com/ and added a few items that I wouldn't mind getting but you can open a "Gift Registry" as well as be able to choose items from the internet rather than from a single store. Here is mine if you want to see what I mean, http://www.myregistry.com/visitors/GiftList.aspx?param=1&sid=E489EB21-5B31-40F8-AD80-364B63DBCF9B I also only put the registry on my website so if they ask, I tell them to go there and they will see that they have an option. Hope this helps! -
I just double checked the PDF that they gave me and it says that if you stay 5-8 nights you get $1500 resort credit with $300 max towards spa services... As far as I know, the only benefit of booking through the member wedding is that they get better rates, you all get to be places semi-close together and it counts towards your "group benefits" for the wedding. Not 100% sure on that because they have STILL to answer my questions.

Hey, thanks so much for the reply. Congratulations by the way! You must be so excited that it's getting close! Looking forward to the review Quick question: I talked to Ivis today and she said that I HAVE to book through their TA to be able to get the group benefits (like the free cocktail party and/or reception). When you booked through Beach Bum Vacations, did they give you the group benefits or no? Thanks again!

Lenita's Moon Palace Wedding Review

Congratulations! You looked stunning and it looks like it was a fantastic wedding. Thank you so much for sharing -
Hi Coconoir. I see that you are using a travel agent to book your group bookings instead of Moon Palace. Would you recommend this over asking them directly? I have family from Canada, USA and other locations booking and I'm note sure what would be best, a travel agent or directly through Moon Palace...

I know the feeling. I am STILL trying to get them to book my date, but it seems they are so bad at keeping up that they don't even care to take my money first then deal with the wedding. Everything is so slow and laid back with them. But I did find that if you call the centre (they are never available) and leave a message, they reply semi-promptly.

Thank you soooo much for this thread. It is sooo helpful!! I did want to know something. For the Art Terrace and the Arrecifes Terrace, are they private enough to have a reception? They seem really nice and I want a roof to hand lanterns and lots of lights but it seems a little too small to have a reception there. Thank you in advanced!!

Hello All: I looked around and I too could not afford Del Sol photography. It is incredible but it's super expensive for me. I looked at FineArt Studios and for half the price as Del Sol, they do the wedding and a TTD session http://www.fineartstudioblog.com/wedding-prices/ Does any have any complaints about them? Thanks, Maria
