cake flavors?
CriCri replied to kbrandriet's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Ask the possibility to your wedding coordinator. In my resort, tres leches, vanilla and chocholate caked were included in the wedding menu , any extra request would be analyze and had an extra price. -
Dear future bride, welcome to SMB brides! I can answer only partially to your questions; 2. If you but Ultimate package you can have some credit if you don't use any service, this expecially if you upgrade the service. For example if you want a bigger photo packet you can pay the upgrating or if you want more flowers, in my case, I have added flowers to the canopy but I didn't want corsages and extra boutonniere so I received credit for the flowers not used and I have spent to canopy flowers. If you don't want at all one service, for example video, you will receive partially the credit. 3. My reception was at 5.00 and when my guest were at the cocktail hour we have taken pictures in the abandoned mansion. For pictures on the beach during the day you can fix one other session some days after. The photographer in the resort (Adventure phjotos) gives one session of 45 minutes for free and you can purchase ony the pictures that you like. Remember, you must pay 20$ tip to go in the old mansion 4. Mexican trio. At the beginning I have booked them for cocktail hour but at the end I have change and I have booked them for the dinner. This is because you will not be with your guests during the cocktail (you will be with the photographer) and we didn't want miss them. 5. I have booked my owne the rooms and I have used otel.com with the 10% of discount thet you can have booking by facebook. This is the best rate I have found. Cecilia can send you more option if you ask something special but I suggest you to fix as soos as possible before arriving to the resort, they need time to arrange everythings. Flowers and menu should be choosen at least one week before.

cake flavors?
CriCri replied to kbrandriet's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
If you want choose the mexican traditional cake you must choose the tres leches cake. I had this cake for my wedding, it's white, soft and light. -
I would like create a shorter version of the wedding video, only 3-4 minutes with the main parts (A video similar as the video that we can find for example in Mike Cantarell web site) Do you know if there are any free program to cut and sew my original video changing also the music? As you are in Mexico I suggest you mariachi!! -
I didn't have any trouble to walk in the beach, to be honest it was raining before the ceremony and probably the wet sand helps me. In any case, I sugget you to walk slowly, this will allow to walk without problem and also to enjoy the moment. Here the picture of the wedge but they were hidden from the the dress

Yes, I have taken sound system for the ceremony, I wanted my guests (and us) hear the ceremony and also the music. They are very good with the sound system, when I arrived from the room to the beach, Cecilia stopped me just before the beach corner, behind the bushes, then she has given the ok to start my song. In that moment, the technician has started the music and he moved the sound system in my direction in order I could hear the music. I wanted Canon D not at the beginning but in the happiest part (where the violins start playing) and they have done!! All the days are windy in the beach so the sound system is suggested. As regard the veil , I have worn it, it was short and I have choosen a model that was behind the shoulders because I didn't want it over my fase and also because I wanted also a flower on the side. A small detail, if the bride is to the left, the wind is of forehead and the veil it ripples toward the back!

I have done my owne barefoot sandals but at the end I haven't used for the cermony but only some days after when I have taken some pictures on the beach. In any case, make barefoot sandals is VERY easy and inexpensive, let me know if you want any idea or explanations, I have collect some pictures before make my pairs. Here following you can see my foot

I have had the same situation, I have bought high shoes , elegant of satin and I couldn't use in the beach Sso I have bought a pair of white wedges with some crystals deoration and I have put on in the beach. When I came back from the beach for the gazebo reception I switched the shoes. I have done the wedding dress trial with both shoes and since difference was only 2-3 cms, it suits well with both the solutions.

I have noticed your aisle, it was beautiful and I have asked to Cecilia if it could be an option also for us. She told me it hasn't been provided by them. I was worried about to stumble on the sand but the day of the wedding, being rained, sand was compact and hard ;-) As it regards the cake, it was very simple, only one level (but much more then enough for 10 people) , it was white with a small decoration. For us the cake wasn't an important item also because, before the wedding cake we had eaten a Mango Napoleon dessert and it was fantastic! If some of you, future bride, the cake it's an important detail, ask to Cecilia to upgrade it but remember, the wedding menu included one more dessert.

I have been in the resort 2 weeks and I have seen at least 7 weddings but all of them were on the beach. The gazebo is near the pool so I think that the privacy is the same as the beach. It's a question of time, 5 o'clock it is still sunned but many guests go away from the beach (I don't know the reason, I remained up to the 7) I have seen a lot of dinner reception in the wedding gazebo and surronding area, also my wedding dinner has been under the gazebo and it's a very suggestive and reserved, nobody passes.

I suggest you to use canopy on the beach. If you choose the 5.00 pm, people are leaving the beach and you will not have a lot of people around you. The beach canopy is on the right side of the resort in the direction of the forest, after the lay down area. The wedding coodinator doesn't allow people stay too much near the canopy. I have seen Cecilia more then one time asking to the people walking on the seaside, to pass behind the canopy and not of forehead.

LOL, I am about to not even care and just take my chances. Too much stuff is trying to go wrong. Hahaha, I have to remember DW are supposed to be care free! Amberth, regarding the italian restaurant, my opinion is probably conditioned by the fact that I am Italian :-) In any case, italian restaurant have a very nice terrace in a corner of the structure and it will be a nice location. One other good location, near the wedding gazebo is the grill restaurant, it's under a big palapa but open on the sides. Are you sure they can book a big table for all of you? I have noticed that only El Patio can have big table reservation ... I had there my dinner the day before the wedding and we were in 10 people.
