  1. LBurton5: Thanks! Good catch I will have to show it to his mom and see if she can afford that one because it is still a lot higher than the regular rooms but it is definitely better! And if nothing else at least the other guests should be able to stay in the preferred club ones. I finally found what I had saw about dining at other Secrets resorts if you stay at any of their resorts. I knew I wasn't crazy, lol. Here is the link: http://www.secretsresorts.com/dine-around.html So, I guess that if people have to stay at another Secrets because only the expensive rooms are available, at least they can come have dinner with us some nights!
  2. Thanks for looking for me too Yea, the day before and the day of all the rooms are sold out except the honeymoon suites.
  3. Hey beachbride! Thanks for looking for me. I just checked there and they do have rooms but the only ones available there are the Honeymoon suites too. It is too expensive for her and her sister to stay in a honeymoon suite. And I am pretty sure none of our other guests will want to stay in one either It really changes the whole trip for us because now instead of having all of our family and friends at the same resort where we can hang out and eat together, everyone will have to pay money anytime they want to come to the resort. I guess we will just have to make sure everyone goes on the excursions with us so we can see them on other days besides the wedding. But, it also looked like they had regular rooms available again on Sunday the 22nd so maybe some of the other guests can switch to Secrets after the wedding and near the end of their trip. LOL, it sounds like a hassle but it is better than nothing I guess! And I had asked Cecilia about people staying at other Secrets and if they had to pay the the day pass too and she told me the same thing. But, I thought maybe she meant to attend the wedding and I wanted to know if they could just come and eat and stuff for the day if they wanted too. I emailed the information email at both Secrets Maroma and Secrets Capri and no one had gotten back to me about it. The only reason I asked was because when I was first researching the resort I had saw on their website where it said you could go to any Secrets and dine if you booked at a Secrets resort. Also, a man I work with actually went to Secrets Maroma last year and he told me that his wife and him did it. But, I guess it could have been just a promotion because now I don't see it anywhere on their website. Chelle86: I have noticed it is taking her a little bit longer to respond to my emails in the past week or so too, but it is usually just 1 or 2 days. Maybe she has a lot of weddings there right now.
  4. Thanks everyone for the responses! We booked through Delta Vacations and I looked myself and there are actually NO rooms through them left, and just the Honeymoon Suites are left on Expedia and actually through the Secrets website are too. It really surprised me. Maybe a big convention is there or something on my date. But, yes I would love it if you could find a regular room available! It would be for July 18-July 22 and she and her sister would be checking out on the morning of the 23rd. So 5 nights for 2 people. I tried to ask the information email at Secrets if we booked her and all the other guests that had not booked at Secrets Maroma at another Secrets like Capri or Silversands if they would still have to pay day passes? But, no one ever responded Nicc80: Unfortunately, she had her sister with her too and it would just be too crowded for anyone else to bunk with them.
  5. Hey everyone, I hope your planning is going well! Everything was finally coming together and then yesterday I went to finally book my fiances mother's room (we waited because she had lost her green card and had to apply for a new one and then after she got that she had to get a new passport and it was taking forever) and now every single room at Secrets Maroma except for the honeymoon suite is BOOKED for our wedding ! This sucks now his mom probably can't stay there! I thought the prices would go up if we waited but not that all the rooms would be booked. All the other Secrets have rooms except Maroma for our dates. Ironic, lol. I hope it all works out. Does anyone know if you rent the sound system for the ceremony if you have to burn your music on a cd or if you could just play it from your iPhone?
  6. Lol ok I am a nerd! I kept seeing all the July 21st brides on here and I messed up and said that is when mine is! Hahaha. It is on July 20th!
  7. Hello everyone! I am a July Bride as well! July 21, 2012 at Secrets Maroma Beach in Playa Del Carmen. I am so excited!! I wish it was tomorrow, lol. I still have some stuff to do and the biggest thing is to get my dress altered. I got an amazing dress for an amazing price! I bought the sample gown and got over half off I just hope it all comes together. I find myself agonizing over every issue until I can move on to the next. I'm ready for it to be here for sure. Well congrats to all the other July Brides
  8. Hola Funkydoll, we are having ours on July 20 at 6 pm. I do think that is strange that they only have morning times and it is all the way in December! That stinks .
  9. BeachBride, I can't believe how rude some of your guests are being. I'm surprised you haven't snapped at them! Lol, well I do think they will be in for a rude awakening if they show up with the kids because I think they will just tell them flat out no. I don't think they will let them in honestly. Is anyone else having trouble getting Juan to email you back? He emailed me right away initially, but after I asked him about the printing rights on package #1 he has not responded and I sent him another just to make sure he got it. I went ahead and booked #2 with Cecilia because I was worried but I would love a clear answer from him so I could book #1 if I could print them. Agghh, well at least I have this forum to help answer my questions! It really is awesome. Also, does anyone know if the gazebo comes with the white cloth on it? I just realized I didn't know if that came standard? I really don't want a plain gazebo, lol!
  10. Thanks everyone for answering my questions! You guys are making it much easier on me. It takes a little bit sometimes for Cecilia to get back to me and sometimes she forgets, lol. But she is really nice and I know she is busy. Does anyone know if you get the printing rights if you get a photo package from Juan? I am considering just getting the package 1 but I am confused why the next one up has negatives on it. I'm worried I won't be able to print the photos. I am so excited to hear you can make reservations in the restaurant but my fiancé thinks we will have more than 20 people now. Well I guess we can all go to dinner in smalll groups. It is not ideal but, I am thinking we will all meet up after dinner in the nightclub anyway.

  12. BrideRN how did you book Juan? Did you do it through Cecilia by just booking your photo package or did you contact him? We are just doing the "complimentary" package and I am adding on all the other stuff we need, so I am really hesitant to book a reception in one of the restaurants for over $500 when we are all supposed to eat for free at the restaurant anyway. Lol, is anyone else thinking this? Can I not just make a reservation for 20 people? I don't really care if it is private.

  14. Hi all! I am so excited I have found this thread. I am getting married at SMB on July 20th. I am so anxious for it to get here! I wanted to jump in about the 80% of people staying at the resort thing because I had the same exact question! And I know where you saw it because I saw it yesterday on the Q&A I had to give to Cecilia. It was where you had to put how many guests were staying at the resort and how many were staying outside of it. It said that the external guests had to represent 20% of the guests. So, I am glad you asked Cecilia that question because I was freaking out, lol. I thought all outside guests had to pay the day pass anyway so that is fine with me! Does anyone know if the resort photographer is still Juan Navarro? Also does has anyone had their hair done at the resort salon? I am really nervous about it.
