I wonder if you could message them and ask if you ordered a few if the shipping would be $13.16 as a total for all of them...I can't see them being heavy and cumbersome to ship, they could all go in one box I'd think. I get so sad when I see great prices and then see high shipping to Canada, or worse, no shipping to Canada.

Has anyone used the onsite photography company for videography? And if so how does it work with having an outside photographer, do I not have to pay the hotel the $500 or have my photographer stay 2 nights because I am still using the onsite company but then do I still have to pay for day passes? I am trying to figure it all out! OR does anyone have a suggestion/recommendation on who to use for videography services. Thanks!

Hey Heidilynn, just thought I would toss my 2 cents in here regarding rsvp's and numbers of people attending. We sent out our save the date EARLY (about 11 months in advance) to let people know it would be a destination wedding and we heard from a ton of people "oh my god, I am so excited, we will be there for sure" type responses and then once our official invites went out and our Travel Agent messaged people as a group to let them know she was at their service people completely dropped off the face of the earth, it was like they'd never known us! LOL! From some other threads I have read on here I have noticed that this isn't completely atypical, though, and it often happens that people say they are in and then never book. Your friends may be different, though, but this is something that may happen too I guess.

Making my own veil
FireyNurse replied to philanab's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Sorry, I totally missed this post! I don't mind sharing at all! My Veil was $52 including shipping which I thought was totally reasonable...I could have probably made it for cheaper technically but all my work and frustration wouldn't have been worth it! lol! -
Hi Heidilynn! I can share some of what I have discovered through this whole planning process...although I am no expert as we haven't had our wedding yet! Sashes and white table cloths are included, also, the coordinator sent me the list of colors like MrsNova said and then I asked "what about purple" and she messaged me back saying yes they had purple and sent me the picture of it, so just clarify clarify clarify and you will figure it out! There is nothing arch-wise or huppa unless you pay a whole lot more, but there's always the option of the gazebo if that interests you, I chose the Barcelo almost solely based on their gazebo lol! For centerpieces, there is a pdf they send you with their options and prices on it, they aren't too badly priced I guess but they do add up if you are trying to stick to a budget, and they do charge for all the orchids and calla lillies and such that you may want. Another option is to do like someone else on here did and rent their vases for $5 each and then bring your own fake orchids down with you to have them submerged. There are TONS of options for centrepieces if you don't want to pay their prices. If you give me your email I can forward you on the centrepieces thing they sent me. Also for flowers they charge for corsages, bouquets, boutineers other than for the bride and groom (for the strawberry package anyways) As for ipod or dj - we are going with ipod as most brides on here suggested that and its a big savings! One other thing that I have heard is extra are the lights on the trees, $5 per string apparently. Happy Planning!

I bought the short dress from this site in Plum Purple. http://www.henkaa.com/ The quality is fantastic, a really nice flowy material that is flattering. The dress is flattering in many different ways on both my girls (who are very different sizes). If you want to get swatches they are free and you can tell the type of material from that as well choose your colour!! Happy planning!

WOW! Great work on everything so far! I am SO happy to hear from fellow brides in Canada when they DIY, I wanted to do luggage tags or room key holders but all the googling for everything to find the cheapest price to Canada has gotten me worn out and I have just left it by the way-side....I will be trying them now with your suggested links! And I love the style for your guys! Ours are wearing the same in grey and purple, just we don;t have the suspenders. I am also super interested in your template for the program if you would be so kind to share it! you can email me at [email protected] Happy Planning! Can't wait to see more!

Inviting/not inviting certain people
FireyNurse replied to KrystalDawn's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I think families and their different dynamics are always so tricky! My FI's father and sister are not coming to our wedding and my father is not either....long story but in the end it is the best decision for us. I don't know the whole story for you but I know with my situation I left the decisions to invite or not invite his family up to him. We live across the country from them and I didn't grow up with them and haven't even met some of them at all so I feel as though I can't make a decision in regards to having them attend or not and what they will be like on our big day. What I tried to do is be supportive of whatever his decision was and I also played a little bit of the "what if" person or "devil's advocate" trying to make sure he had thought of all the little things, to make sure he wouldn't regret his decision at a later time. It was definitely not a last minute decision and there was a TON of conversations had between us about the topic! In the end we are both happy and comfortable with our decisions! I swear once our decisions were all made it was like a huge weight lifted off our shoulders! Good Luck! -
This whole project started with the intent to make Bride and Groom or MRS and MR champagne flutes for our big day! Well we needed something to practice on so we got carried away and fell in love with the creations we were making and decided to make enough glasses for all of our guests. As you can see they don't all match but they are all in different shades of our colours (teal and purple) and there are two of each kind so that each couple can take a set home! I am SOOOOO excited about these!!! And I am all about giving credit where it is due - this lovely tutorial is where I found all the instructions! http://somethingturquoise.com/2011/10/21/diy-glam-champagne-glasses/ (sorry about the large sizes)

Making my own veil
FireyNurse replied to philanab's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I bought my veil from this seller and it is PERFECT! She is a great seller to purchase from and work with and the quality is great. I wasn't sure about DIYing my own veil but was sure I didn't want to spend even close to $100 or more on one so I went with Etsy and I am so glad I did! -
Oh, and I had one made at Costco once, made it through their online photo site and then picked it up at the store and it was ok but not the best quality!

I used PhotoBin and really like the quality of the book I got! I haven't used PhotoBook Canada so I can't give a comparison that way. Cheers!
