  1. Great work! Passports were one of our top choices but we agreed that boarding passes were also super cute and potentially less work so decided to do them instead! We are date twins ) It's coming up so fast!
  2. What kind of templates are you looking for? Welcome books, invites, STD's, etc? I realized I could see templates randomly one day when I noticed my post count was over 150 so I started searching templates just to see what I had been missing all along! You can always use the search funtion and just search "template" and you will get a ton of results. Good Luck!
  3. The convertible dresses are from http://www.henkaa.com some people may think they are pricey but they are great quality material (not jersey cotton) and come in three lengths. They also will send swatches...when I was looking at ordering for my girls the swatches were free. There are other convertible dress options on line as well if you search on BDW you can find some threads about it, or just google it. The guys grey pants, FI's vest and the purple shirts are from Le Chateau. The main reason we went with Le Chateau is because the vests they sell there are nice and have the same material material on the back of the vest as they have on the front, not the thin shiny stuff most suit vests are made of. This way he can wear the vest alone without a jacket over top of it.
  4. I just saw some yesterday at La Vie en Rose (or however you spell the lingerie store name) and they were under $2. Otherwise in the summer months Walmart carries them as well.
  5. We ordered $90 worth of stuff, gst was $5.27 and shipping/handling was $15.50 - I thought it was reasonable. And since its from within Canada there's no surprise duty charges. Oh and you can also pick up from their store in London, ON too if you are nearby. Cheers!
  6. I am getting married at the Barcelo Palace in Mexico in just 21 days and from my experience in working with AirTransat I have to say I would recommend 100% that you do not book a group with them! It has been ridiculous trying to work with them....sure their prices seemed like the best at the start but now our prices (Bride and Groom) have increased and there is just no explanation given, and here we are just 18 days away from departure and we still have no tickets in hand to travel! As for the Barcelo resort, I have heard wonderful things and can give my feedback on the resort once we return! Cheers!
  7. For any Canadian brides looking for wedding things such as favours, decorating supplies, serving sets, personalized napkins, etc try out http://www.theweddingshoppe.ca We ordered our serving set and champagne flutes from them as well as personalized napkins and everything is PERFECT! They are great to work with and our stuff was engraved and personalized and shipped out to us in no time!
  8. We are doing this dress for our girls (it is convertible so this is just one way it can be worn) And similar to LKocleko our guys are wearing grey, sort of like this. They are wearing grey pants and a purple shirt that matches the girls dress (no vest) and my groom is wearing a white shirt with grey vest and pants
  9. So did you put your breakables in checked luggage or put it in carry ons? We have vases and champagne flutes to take down but I wasn't sure that even bubble wrapped and tissued that they would be ok in checked luggage. Cheers!
  10. I am also in Canada, definitely check out Michaels for a corner punch (take a 40% or 50% off coupon with you on your smart phone or print it off their site). Also some Walmart's have better craft departments than others and they may have one in their scrapbooking area. Good Luck!
  11. Congrats Allie! I hope your day was everything you dreamed it would be, and more! What length was your veil and did it have weights on the bottom of it to hold it down? Was it super windy? Sorry for all the questions, haha, just trying to work out what to do with mine in 22 days!
  12. Thanks for all the replies about sunset! Our ceremony is at 3:00 so we will definitely be in the daylight and have time for pictures afterwards, we were just trying to figure out if it would be dark already when our dinner starts at 5:30 or if it would be just dusky. Our photographer is only there for the first hour of our reception so we were trying to figure out if we would be able to get the dark beach pictures with the trees lit up. Thanks again!
  13. I also think if you know the style you like best it will be easier to search for a photographer, there is a wide range of prices so having an idea of what you want to pay is great as well - you can pay much less than $5,000 or more than $15,000 - depends on what you prefer. We have hired Juan Navarro (i LOVE his pictures and his prices are also fantastic) and we later decided to do videographer so we hired PlayaWeddings for that as we wanted a specific style of video. We hired both for 5 hours. Our ceremony is at 3pm, reception starts at 5:30 and we didn't care to have pictures of the whole night of partying so we went with 5 hours so that our toasts/cake cutting and dance were covered but that is it for the reception really. With Juan we also are doing a TTD the day after the wedding. Photography/Videography is the most expensive part of our entire wedding, even more than our travel is costing the two of us, but pictures are that important to us so we are willing to pay the cost! Good luck in your search! Cheers!
  14. Congrats MexicoHereICome your day sounds like it was wonderful! You definitely eased some of my nerves, and with our wedding in less than a month I need that! lol! Just a question for you, can you recall what time it became dark around? Our reception starts at 5:30 and we were trying to figure out if it would be dark then or just dusky as the sun sets at approximately 5pm in late November. Cheers! Charity
  15. There are from this site...I believe they also have a store in Toronto. http://www.henkaa.com/
  16. Oh and my girls are wearing the Plum Purple Henkaa just like your one girl!
  17. Great Choice! This is what my MOH and BM are wearing....now if only they were as excited for them as I am ! LOL! They have yet to try their dresses on and experiment with them and our wedding is in 32 days! The great thing I thought was that they fit all body sizes and can be made to accent or cover up whatever you'd like!
  18. haha, oh geez! So typical to get all these different answers from different people. Oh well, I think I am going to leave it, I won't complain about using all the services originally meant for me anyway )
  19. Here is what we are planning for our tables as we didn't want to spend all the $$ on the Barcelo's centrepiece options - I have been a bit of DIY-er although I wouldn't normally consider myself creative or crafty I sure have become that way since the wedding ) This is what we are doing for our centrepieces....well our inspiration! Our cellophane and lights are purple so it should put a nice purple glow out. There will be 3 per table (our vases are smaller than this and are tall thin squares). We may add ribbon as they have done to the bottom of the vase, or perhaps raffia. It will be kept simple as our favours and my DIY champagne flute favors also bring tons of our colours to the table for a bit of decoration. These are some of the different champagne flutes we painted that will decorate the table: And these are our wedding favours: The shimmer paper doesn't photograph well so it the little card on our favours says: "As precious as the ocean's treasures, Too strong for anyone to measure Two hearts joined together, Sharing their lives forever! Thank you for joining us on our special day!"
  20. Hey Juie1025, I sent you the pdf's I have so you should be seeing them any moment in your inbox. Victoria is good, she's all I know, haha, but yes she takes some time to reply to emails and sometimes her answers change from email to email even if its the same question (for example about external vendors). There is one thing she asked me for which I am now hearing we are to book ourselves and its Spa appointments. If anyone on here wasn't told this yet, apparently they are asking bride's to make their own spa appointments now. I figured this is fine because as per other bride's experiences the appointments were getting lost when the coordinators were making them. The email for the spa is [email protected] and the lady who was emailing me was Veronica and she was super quick and very open to questions. I also have the spa price list if anyone wants it. Our wedding package is the regular Strawberry price (plus add ons as we choose). Because we are staying at the Palace we can have our ceremony at the Gazebo at no cost. Apparently if we stayed at the Tropical and wanted the Gazebo for our ceremony there was a charge of $15 per person to use it for the ceremony but there than that there are no differences. The same rules apply that people can't eat at the restaurants specific to the Palace unless they pay $15 per person but we aren't having any events at those restaurants anyway. I have been to the Mayan Riviera 5 times and my FI has been 6, we absolutely LOVE it there! We have not been to the Barcelo, though, and booked our wedding there trusting in everyone's fantastic reviews! Have you checked out the large Barcelo thread on here? Its here http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/21746/barcelo-maya-palace-brides/3310 and there are a TON of posts on it regarding anything you can imagine to do with weddings at the Barcelo. I got so many of my tips and tricks and info on there! I have info just on planning now but I will be SURE to post all about our experience at the Barcelo after our wedding! I can't wait! Cheers! Charity
