  1. Congratulations on your engagement! I am getting married at the Dreams Resort in Cabo and highly recommend it. I used this site and personal recommendations to influence our decision to get married at Dreams. I too have a 3 year old daughter, along with my 6 year old flower girl niece, so the Kids Club at Dreams was a selling factor for me. Dreams is located about 20 minutes from Cabo San Lucas and 20 minutes from the airport in San Jose Del Cabo. It's what they call the Corridor area of Cabo, the long highway between the airport and Cabo San Lucas. Riu is closer to Cabo San Lucas. In our research, we also checked out Riu Palace, but decided the atmosphere, especially during the wedding and reception, was nicer at Dreams. In using the travel agent we discovered on this BDW site, Teresa with Vacations for Less, she got such great room rates we have many family and friends going! You can email her directly at [email protected]. Let me know what kind of links or information you are needing and I can share what I have. I am two months away so I have done quite a bit of research and completed most of my planning. Good luck!
  2. Congratulations on your engagement and booking your wedding! I am also getting married at Dreams September 22, 2012! Thought I would share my feedback to your questions. Travel Agent: We are using Teresa with Vacations for Less and she is just fabulous! Quick to respond, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Plus your guests can just email her to book their trip. Very convenient! Her pricing has matched, if not beat, most websites such as Expedia, Orbitz, etc. She can get great rates at Dreams and other hotels. She can book flights for you and guests, but the airline doesn't really give her a discounted rate. We kept an eye on airfare and booked when there was a sale. Highly recommend using Teresa. Photography: We have the Dreams of Love package which does include the Adventure Photographer. I chose to use their services at the Rehearsal Dinner and I am in the process of hiring Daniel Jireh as our photographer. We decided to place emphasis on our photographer within our wedding budget. He has a great portfolio, quick to respond, and reasonably priced packages that do include videography. DJ: We have booked DJ Ricardo as well. He has been wonderful to work with and super flexible. All his reviews are perfect and he seems like the best option for Cabo. Flowers: Your wedding package does come with flowers, which you’ll most likely use Emporio Arte Floral. You can email them directly to receive pricing and floral ideas. Just check in with Magda to be sure. Hair & Make up: Your package does include yours, but if you’re looking for someone for your bridesmaids or the moms, I am booking with Neysa Berman with Salon Blanc. She has great reviews, cheaper than other artists, and her work is amazing. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Wish you the best in planning!
  3. Thank you for this review! I am also considering using Neysa for my September wedding at Dreams. I was curious if anyone has traveled to her salon? Wondering what the drive is like and how their make up and hair lasted on the drive back. Thank you!
  4. Hello! Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! With my experience planning my wedding at Dreams, children are half the price of an adult. In my situation, this applies to children attending the rehearsal dinner and reception. I have let my wedding coordinator know how many adults and children so I can be billed accordingly. Typically, payments for such items are due about a month before so you have time to determine the adult and child head count. Good luck! Hope this helps!
  5. Just in case you are still deciding on booking your wedding at Dreams, I will say, I have had a wonderful experience with Magda, the wedding coordinator at Dreams. Yes, responses often take a week or two, but now that I am two months away from my wedding, Magda is responding within hours. With destination weddings, the bulk of the final details takes place 2-3 months before. If you are ready to book and not receiving a response, maybe call. That's what I had to do and was able to get my contract that afternoon and place my deposit the next day. But after that, just be patient. Use this web site and other brides to help you answer your questions, instead of always relying on the wedding coordinator. You're welcome to email or message me with any questions you have! Good luck and congratulations!
  6. Congratulations on booking your wedding! I am getting married at Dreams on September 22 and have been looking into using Neysa Berman with Blanc Salon for my hair and make up. She has great reviews on this blog, quick to respond, much cheaper than Suzzane Morel, and has a great portfolio. Check our her web site and blog for pricing, pictures, and contact information.
  7. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review! Sorry to hear you got sick and had some obstacles during the week The photos you posted sure make it look amazing! Congratulations!
  8. Hey JustNoelle, the Etsy designer, Hello Dahlia, who did my invites also has a beautiful peacock wedding invite. You can see it here and I added a picture. Here is the link in case it doesn't work...http://www.etsy.com/listing/68520594/peacock-wedding-invitation-limited
  9. Wanted to share the coral flower girl dresses I purchased that I am just in love with! I found them at Nordstrom and currently they are only $23.90! They are a true coral color with a tie on the back which makes for easy adjustments. The length is perfect as it hits at the mid calf, so the girls won't trip while walking in the sand. Since we are getting married in September, I bought it a size larger just in case the girls grow. Nordstrom web site photo My photos (excuse my mom's hand!) 10. I am considering Neysa Berman with Blanc Salon. She's is MAC certified and I liked her portfolio. Her prices seem much more reasonable and more dynamic than other vendors. Here is the link in case it didn't work above... http://www.neysaberman.com/
  11. Wanted to share the coral flower girl dresses I just purchased from Nordstrom that I am in love with! As of today, they are only $23.90. The Nordstrom web site photo does not due the coral any justice. It is a true coral than pink or peach. The dress fits my daughter and niece really well. The lightweight dress is the perfect length as it hits mid calf so the girls can avoid tripping while walking around in the sand. Since we are getting married in September and kids grow quick, I ordered a size up. Dress has a tie back which makes for easy adjustments. Nordstrom web site photo My photos...second one is a bit blurry & don't mind my mom's hand! 12. Etsy is my FAVORITE place for wedding stuff! I ordered my wedding invitations on Etsy from hellodahlia. Julie was amazing to work with. Professional, flexible, and a quick turn around. My handmade invitations were a better deal than generic printed ones on the popular wedding invite sites. These are the invitations I ordered. Below is a picture of the sample I ordered before placing my wedding invitation order. Julie offered to change the text, color, and layout of the invitation as well. My family and friends have just loved them. Also, I ordered a return address stamp for my wedding invitations and thank you notes from lovetocreatestamps. Great quality, includes a storage bag, reasonably priced, and a quick turn around. Guests have asked if I had someone calligraphy my invites, they looked that real! I ordered this one...

  16. Hello! Goodness, sounds like you have a lot going on! We have booked our travel agent Teresa Stauring with Vacations For Less. She's been wonderful to work with and has received some great rates. Not sure where you and your guests are flying from, but for our guests from Southern California to Cabo for a two night stay, with airfare, paid about $1,300. Our travel agent also secured the promotion where we do get comped rooms because we have secured a specific amount. I can share other details if you need. If you are interested, I would suggest contacting Teresa at 323-655-8434 / 800-200-2423 Ext 202 or by email at [email protected]. Wish you the best with planning! Hope the travel arrangements get better!
  17. What a find! This is great! Especially the dress codes. Didn't think they were strict with sleeveless shirts for the guys. Thank you for sharing!
  18. Oh thank you so much for letting me know! I was just about to PM you too because I noticed you wrote a wonderful review from your wedding. By the way, it was gorgeous! Congrats! Thanks for sharing such great information. I just may be asking you for other questions along the way!
  19. Hey ladies! Great to have so many Dreams brides on here! I was curious if anyone found a reasonably priced rental company for chairs, napkins, and other table decor? I am curious if we can find something cheaper than what Dreams offers. Thank you!
  20. Hey Dreams Brides! I am in the process of booking DJ Ricardo, and was curious if anyone is going to have their DJ play music during the ceremony or just use a play list? Determining my budget but ore importantly if the music will even be heard while having a ceremony on the beach. Has anyone heard feedback on this? Thank you!
  21. What about the Hard Rock? We considered it, but flight costs from the west coast were a bit pricey for our guests. I loved their wedding packages and resort activities. And they seemed pretty family friendly as well. Plus, who doesn't love the Hard Rock! Happy planning!
  22. First, congratulations! I am getting married in Cabo in September 2012 and love having a travel agent. Our guests can privately discuss price options that match their budget, hear how the rest of the guests are booking, and book with confidence. Our travel agent has been able to beat Expedia prices as well. We posted her contact information, policies, and booking procedures for our guests on our wedding web site. It's been so nice letting our guests reserve travel at their leisure and budget. I highly recommend using a travel agent for your destination wedding.
  23. Hello Dreams Brides! I hope your planning is going well. I was able to get some feedback from Magda on my wedding planning and wanted to share so it may help any of you! A few of these prices I clarified as there was a price range listed in the Dreams wedding packet. Sparklers: Are $5.50 a piece. Lanterns: $200.00 for 24 lighted lanterns. I am waiting to hear color choices. Tableware: Everything is in white. I asked whether the florist, Emporio, would provide options on colored napkins and table cloths, and chargers. She is getting me quotes on a few items. I can share later. Ceremony arch: $200.00 for huppa arch in bamboo wrapped in white fabric. Cake: I have a cake included in my Dreams of Love package and Magda gave me permission to use this cake at my rehearsal so I can look into getting something different for the reception. I am currently looking into Sweet Dreams Cabo. I can share prices later. Dinner Menu: My Dreams of Love package includes the Silver Dinner Menu, and I wasn't a fan of the main course options within this package. I asked to upgrade my dinner menu to the Gold Menu. Magda quoted me an additional $10/guest for the 20 guests within my package and $75/guest for the extra guests above the 20 in my package. I believe this is only a $10 jump from the $65/guest over the 20 within my package. Well worth it for the surf and turf main course option! Flowers: I am going to work with Emporio as they are with my package. My package includes 2 boutonnieres and 2 corsages. Because I do not want corsages, Magda was okay with me exchanging the 2 corsages for 2 additional boutonnieres. Here are other vendors I am considering/currently working with: Hair & Make Up: I am currently looking into Neysa Berman at Blanc on Location Salon. Her prices are a little high, but much lower than Suzanne Morel, and she's MAC certified. DJ: I am looking into DJ Ricardo. Currently working at details as he is flying in from another wedding on my day. Travel Agent: Teresa with Vacations for Less. Has been amazing to work with and has great prices. Hope this helped anyone clarify questions they had. It did take Magda a week to respond, but at least I am moving forward, little by little! Happy Wedding Planning!
  24. Thank you for organizing! With my wedding is in September, it will be great to hear all the details before I begin coordinating everything. Would love to hear more of the process and or checklist for planning the final details, as I know it's done the few months before. Also, would love to know more about booking my own vendors, what the chairs, tableware, and linens look like that are available from the hotel, and transportation packages to and from the hotel. Thanks again!
