  1. on the Majestic colonial website there's a wedding link you email that department and a wedding coordinator will contact you. Just let them know what date you want. I told her the date, the time I wanted, the area for the ceremony and the area I wanted to the reception so all that I wanted was available. ( Thanks to this site I knew all my options and knew what I wanted) = )
  2. I am getting married February 16, 2013 5pm Gazebo ceremony, Steakhouse dinner & Wet Bar reception. Have my cake picked out, my bouquet, found my dress (but haven't ordered it since its too soon and I need to loose a couple of pnds to get to my normal weight being madly in love has made me fat lolz), website is 80% complete, budget is created, guestlist is done, we are in process of creating our save the dates, we already know the design of our invitations & now I am working with prices and options with the travel agent. woooooo lots of work but this site made it very easy!!
  3. Nothing new on this thread where is everyone? All done planning LOLZ!! Well I will let you guys know I am having a bit of a difficult time getting good pricing for the resort the Majestic quoted me $143pp, per night for 7 nights then my TA quoted me $200 pp, per night for 7 nights with Airport transfer BUT I saw on cheapcaribbean.com $1575 for 7 nights AND AIR (they didn't have the exact dates but it's an estimate I contacted someone directly to give me exact pricing. On the Majestic colonial FB page a girl told me she got this: Our rates were $199 for single occupancy, $137 for a double and $99 for a triple occupancy - so I am reaching out to her TA. What prices are you gals NOT in canada getting for your rates? What TA are you using? We are flying out of San Francisco thus airfare is going to be very pricey so I NEED to make sure we get a good resort rate especially since I'm a BIG TIME bargain hunter and the lower the price the more likely people are going to be able to come =)
  4. I am getting married in Feb at 5pm anyone know if my guest will need a fan? I'm thinking of doing the fan programs.
  5. Sorry I forgot to post I found it in Stockton California city search I am not sure if it will still be there SORRY!!!
  6. There's a livingsocial Vista Print deal for $10 you get $50 worth of product!! I bought one then I had the fiance buy another one.
  7. Save the dates are for the people you are inviting to the wedding it's a way of giving people a heads up so they can save that day for your wedding. Invites usually are sent 2-3 months in advance (with all the details) which isn't always enough notice for people so it's courteous to do save the dates so people can make arrangements to attend. With a destination wedding I think it's important to invite or send a save the date at least a year in advance so people have plenty of time to save and make arrangements. We are doing an invite now since we already have the location booked and I need to know how many people plan on attending so I can reserve the rooms. I figured why spend the $ on stds and invites.
  8. yeah we are planning on communicating via our website as far as reminders about travel and I am doing OOT bags to give them an agenda. I want them to have the magnet so they can always have it as a reminder. I'm thinking of having it say "save the date & start saving your money" or just "date reminder"since they are getting it a year early. lol
  9. Hello Ladies- Soooo I am thinking of skipping the save the date and just sending out invites since my original idea was to send out save the dates with a pre-rsvp for guests to return to get an idea of how many people are coming so we can reserve a block of rooms at the resort. I feel like its so early for the invite but since it's a destination wedding we need to give everyone plenty of notice. We will continue to update everyone on our website and I am thinking of sending a magnet with the date maybe call it a "date reminder" instead of a save the date since they will have the invite. Thought? comments?
  10. THANKS! I am currently frickin out about STDs (typing this makes me think of sexually transmitted diseases instead of save the dates hahahaha)- we don't have a theme or colors so I think I'm going with something simple from Vistaprint the FI wants them out ASAP to give people plenty of notice and we can reserve a block of rooms at the resort.
  11. I missed it!!!! Can someone email me if they see another one of these. Thanks
  12. It's official I am a Majestic Colonial Bride February 16th, 2013 is my date ! Thank you to all the women on here that posted sooo much info that it made it easy to choose MC GROUP HUG!!!
  13. I don't know about Dreams but my resort requires we bring our marriage certificate so we have to do it before. I need to look up how the wedding paperwork works because we are also going to legally get married before we leave.
  14. I choose those two options because there was SO much info on here about them. In the end I choose Majectic Colonial because it has really high rating on tripadvisor.com one of my fave traveling sites. The Majestics pricing was and set up made more sense to us. Plus I wanted an all-inclusive. I am working with a TA with Wright and she just got me the actual costs for the rooms and its a little bit more than dreams but not enough difference for me to reconsider. For the website I did weddingwire.com super easy and easy to personalize.
  15. That is a great deal and does help and I meant Feb 2013 what TA are you using? or where did you get your trip package?
  16. I just chose Majestic colonial the packages were very reasonable and there is so much information on here on them but the # 1 reason I chose them is because on tripadvisor.com people rated them 4.5 stars and it had over 6 thousand reviews you can check out tripadvisor for all the resorts you are interested in. I just started working with my TA with wright travel and so far so good =)
  17. Hello Ladies- I wanted to get an idea of how much you guys are paying per completed OOT bag.
  18. I just did weddingwire and its super easy the best part is that you can create your own pages so I share all kinds of info for the resort, TA, pricing etc
