  1. Hi Misti 23, I was looking for a resort close to Jelly Fish. If you don't mind sharing which resort did you stay at when you visited? Thanks, Lona
  2. Thanks for sharing this was so helpful! We had a lot of people that were confused too, they thought the double occupancy rate was the price for two people and didn't understand that each person and room had to pay the price quoted.
  3. Jen were you the wedding with the peacock theme?
  4. I found this tutu and flower girl basket for my daughter. She is going to be soooo cute, I can't wait to see her in it! Seller: Coles Shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/nicolelamber?ref=seller_info Seller: Braggingbags http://www.etsy.com/shop/braggingbags?ref=seller_info
  5. I'm freaking out about air too! It has only been going up for me. I think I'll wait it out for one more month before I book air.
  6. I feel the same exact way! My wedding date is getting closer and closer and I'm getting bigger and bigger...I've gained 15lbs I ordered my dress two sizes smaller...not smart I know. So I definitely need to get in my but in gear...my wedding is one week after yours.
  7. I heard from my Mayte on 4/1. I know how busy she is so I was surprised I heard back from her the same day I emailed her. I sent her an inspiration power point and now I'm just waiting for my invoice. I would just email her again, I'm sure everything is fine.

  9. Thanks for sharing I love the boutonniere charm! My fiance's mom passed away when he was 10 and I've been thinking of a way to include her in the wedding. I think this is perfect!
  10. That's right there is one $500 fee for the ceremony setup and a $500 for the reception set up.
  11. So glad to hear your wedding was everything you dreamed! If you don't mind me asking what was the total amount that you paid for food and alcohol? I think I will have around the same amount of guest. Did you rent the entire restaurant or just use the downstairs or upstairs? Also did you do your ceremony and reception at Jelly Fish or did you do the ceremony at Dreams. I'm getting married at Dreams and having the reception at Jelly Fish, but I don't know if I want to let the guest go ahead of us and have the cocktail hour at Jelly Fish while we are taking our pictures or have the cocktail hour at DPB and we all go to Jelly Fish together. Based on your experience what do you think the best option would be? Sorry for the 101 questions lol!
  12. I was wondering what site you used because everything I'm find is in the $600-700 range leaving from houston.
  13. Oh wow we might have to fly out from Houston! Most of our guest are flying from New Orleans and Los Angeles but we would actually be leaving from Dallas. The prices leaving from Dallas are lingering around 767 so I think driving the 4 hours to Houston will be well worth it, we would be saving almost $900. Which airport and airline are you looking at?
  14. Omg I love these for sand ceremony! Thanks for sharing
  15. Lol! I'm terrible at following direction and lack coordination too!
  16. I'm in the same boat as you...I'm getting married on Oct 19. You are actually getting married on our anniversary. My goal is to lose 60lbs before the the big day. I love food!!! So getting on track with eating healthy has been a big challenge. I've been reading Oxygen(women's fitness) magazine they have great receipes that are healty and tasty so I don't feel so deprived their sister magazine is called Clean Eating there are some great recipes in there as well, so you may want to check that out. Oxygen also has simple at home exercise routines that help burn fat and sculpt your body plus the pictures and stories keep me motivated.
  17. It looks like we are all playing the waiting game for air fare. I've seen a drop in the prices for air fare in New Orleans, I'm hoping prices will drop some more. When I first started monitoring rates they were $737 now they have dropped to $676. Prices for Los Angeles and Dallas are still the same, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed we see a significant decrease in the next couple of months.
  18. So some how my maid of honor has the perception that this wedding is all about her! So pretty much a lot of the drama started when I created a FB group for the wedding party since every one is so spread out. I thought it would be a great way for everyone to become acquainted with one another and asked everyone to right a brief introduction about themselves. So my BFF/MOH made her introduction and it was and a day later one of my friends from work who is a bridesmaid made her introduction, which was really simple she simply said her name how she knows me and she is looking forward to meeting everyone. Now some how my MOH took this as my bridesmaid trying to throw a shot at her or one up her...I first thought she was joking about it until yesterday. So yesterday I went to try on dresses, which I had made the appointment for 2 weeks ago and made everyone aware of the time and date. That left plenty of time for her to find a babysitter and make sure she could make the appointment. So a couple of days before, she tells me that she doesn't have a babysitter(her kids are 3,2,and 6 months old) this annoyed me a little bit but I said ok that's fine. So the night before the appointment I called her like 6 times to give her the information and she never answered the phone, when she finally did call me back I was asleep but I still answered the call and I told her that she can meet us at the place @ 2:30 and that I will e-mail her the address in the morning before I leave to got to bootcamp. She told me to just call her in the morning when I wake up. Again I called her in the morning when I woke up and she didn't answer the phone, I even called her 3 times before I finally left. I told my mom to call my MOH since I wasn't able to get a hold her to ask her if she could get a ride with her to the Bridal Salon. When I finally got a chance to call her which was around 1pm she said my mom told her the appointment was at 5:30 and that she had already started cooking a pot of Chili, Really? I said ok but I already told you the appointment was at 2:30 several times you even tried to schedule an appointment at another dress shop for you two to try on bridesmaids dresses to work around the time of my appointment just a few days ago. Then she went back to my mom giving her the wrong time. I told her don't worry about it it's fine me Denise (BM) are still going to go. So I called her after the appointment and told her I got the dress which she wasn't too happy about because she wasn't there. Then later in the conversation she said tell Denise I have a bone to pick with her, I thought she was joking so I relayed the message to Denise and she just said with me, why? Then she asked to speak to Sid so I handed her the phone, I couldn't hear what Sid(MOH) was saying but Denise (BM) kept an even tone and didn't say anything out of line. When she gave me the phone back my MOH was upset saying that I'm taking Denises side and that she felt like our friendship was in trouble. Then she started crying and I couldn't tell if she was pretend crying or if she was really crying and I told her she was reading into things too much and nobody is taking shots at her. I told her that it's not Denise's fault that she didn't make it and that she should have answered her phone when I called her in the morning. I even asked my mom what time she told MOH the appointment was and my mom said 2:30. I told her I would call her when I got home. She hasn't answered her phone since yesterday! I feel like she is creating unnecessary drama when all Denise has simply done is fulfill her bridesmaid duties where Sid has not fulfilled all of hers.
  19. Let's see we set a wedding date about 4 weeks after dating and were officially engaged 2 months after we started dating. Sounds crazy I know, but we've known each other since I was 12 and he was 15. By the time we get married we will have been together for a year.
  20. So today one of my bridesmaids and I start and 8 week program with Jenna Phillips who is suppose to be an awesome trainer. The best part is we got a deal on Life Booker Loot and only paid $10 for the sessions! I really think this will really help get me in gear and get this weight off!
  21. So refreshing to read this I've read a few really bad reviews on trip advisor anfd began having second thoughts...but know they are all gone! The view, the private service, private restaurant for breakfast/lunch, and checking in ASAP via VIP lounge....sooooo worth it!
  22. I heard the resort isn't too big so I'm pretty sure our parties will be bumping into each other frequently and we most def have to do a toast. We will be arriving on the 16th how about you two? I was thinking of booking La Barcaza for our welcome dinner too on the 18th. I'm soooo over budget already but I really want to do something special for our guest. Decisions, Decisions. We'll def have to get together at some point and toast our nuptials. When are you arriving?

  24. That's good to hear. I'm looking for something I can stick to but can do at home that isn't too expensive. I definitely have to work on getting mentally into it. I start a bootcamp this weekend so I think that will put me back on track. Thanks for sharing Lala.
