If you have a list of the items you have requested, I would send that to Kymoya just to be on the safe side. Ideally they would have transferred everything in the works, but I know from personal experience that isn't always how things happen. If you negotiated anything extra with Silvia and have emails with those details, you should also forward those to Kymoya. I worked with Kymoya when securing my date, and she was using the generic wedding email address for IRHB [email protected]. Also, I have seen other posts that state lanterns are not allowed for the non-private receptions.

Hi Heather! You'll have to keep us posted on how your visit goes. I am having the same dilemma with choosing the ceremony location. We really wanted a beach wedding, but I have seen those same pictures as you with people hanging around in swimsuits and all up next to the ceremony area... that makes me think of moving to the balcony. However I have also seen some really nice pictures of the beach ceremonies (maybe just a great photographer who is making sure no onlookers are in the pics?) Maybe the time of day also has something to do with it? I haven't figured out colors yet. I am thinking of choosing my flowers first, and based on what I end up choosing, picking the colors for the rest of the decorations.

I started by going to the Iberostar website. There is an email address listed in the Weddings section for each resort, and if you inquire through those email addresses they will send you the information you request. That is how I received the package details, pricing, and booked my date. I had everything booked within 5 days of my initial inquiry. Happy planning!

I am also getting married at the Iberostar Beach in 2013 and was looking at the agreement. You're right, there is a statement about guests at other resorts: --This package is only for Iberostar Rose Hall Beach guests. The couple and at least 90% of their guests have to be Iberostar guest, (Staying at any of the three properties in Jamaica) of which at least 80% at the Rosehall Beach --Any wedding guest that is staying off property will have to pay a day pass fee of $75 US per person non-negotiable. --Any wedding guest that is staying at our sister property Iberostar Suites or Grand Hotel Rose Hall will be considered as guests of this hotel so only the fee of US$18 will apply. A few things to note here - (1) the statement that says that any non-Iberostar guests have a NON-NEGOTIABLE $75 fee. That language isn't used with the statement about the Iberostar guests. (2) I am an event planner at my job, and I have found that almost everything is negotiable. Try to ask the WC if they will waive that fee for your guests. If they won't allow that, try to work a deal out with them. If you have an idea of how much you will be spending at the Iberostar for the entire wedding (say you are paying the $2100 package fee and adding another $2400 on top of that with, additional people fee above 8 people, a cocktail hour, renting out the restaurant for a private reception, etc) and you know you will be spending at least $4500 for the wedding, ask if they will waive that $18/person fee for the suites guest if you agree to spend a minimum of $4000. That way you still get some wiggle room with the costs, and you (or your guests) don't have to pay that extra fee. It's ridiculous that they even charge that fee for Iberostar guests, especially when the Suites guests have access to the Beach at any other time during their stay. Hopefully you are able to work something out with them.

I haven't decided yet. I want to take a look at what they have available and the pricing and will go from there. I will probably use them for the decorations at the ceremony and I am thinking of using a company like www.plumeriasweddingflowerboutique.com for the bouquets. Hopefully I can find something like that locally. I got that site from another bride on here and she said she saved a lot of money versus using Tai Flora. I'll see if I can find the thread that I found it on. It might be worth a shot to reach out to your WC at Iberostar and let her know you are trying to reach Tai Flora but are having difficulties getting a response. Maybe she can follow up with them for you. Based on what I have read on this site, it sounds like the vendors and WC get more responsive as the wedding date gets closer. I just received my confirmation yesterday and our wedding is 15 months away so I haven't done much planning yet, but I can try to help out with anything I can, or at least give you my opinion

Hi Mikie, I just received confirmation on my date for the IRHB, getting married April 27, 2013. I have seen pictures of weddings that took place on the beach and ones that have taken place on the balcony. For us, we really want the ocean and beach in the background of our pictures and I didn't see that with the balcony pictures. Perhaps it was just the angle and location of the photographer, but that is why I am choosing the beach location. I have found that reading the planning threads & reviews for other brides that were married at this resort has given me an idea of what to expect. Good luck with all of your planning!

After reading the threads about communications with the WC at Iberostar (and other resorts in Jamaica) I was expecting to have to wait a while to receive a response to my inquiry. I sent an email yesterday to the general wedding email that is on the Iberostar website asking for the wedding package info and available dates for April/May 2013 and already received a response today! I don't know if future communications will be that quick, but hopefully I will be able to get my date reserved soon if I decide to go with Iberostar. I am currently leaning towards the Rose Hall Beach.

I am interested in getting married in Negril and have tentatively planned it at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay. I am going to meet with a TA later this month to get her opinions on resorts and see what her opinions are of the RPTB. I also have never been to Jamaica, but narrowed down our Caribbean DW to that location based on the cost. The reason I am leaning towards the RPTB is that it allows for you to visit the Riu Negril as well, which I figure would be a nice change for guests if they wanted to check out another resort at no cost. However if you stay at the Riu Negril, you do not receive the privileges to visit the RPTB. I figure for a slightly higher cost, it is worth it.
