Lh sunnie i contact 2 local transport agencies and they offered for example transport from sto domingo to punta cana (300km) away for 12 people for 8000 dominican pesos around 200 us$ so its way cheaper, but they can only bring you ingo the hotel, I dont think they can take you out, its a rule from the hotel.

Girls I talked to a girl from weddinglanning dept. I have an appoinment on monday to do the site visit, as far all I can say you should think before you book this hotel, because it's too big, 3 times what you can possibly imagine! But it's amazing! Gorgeous! I took pictures from 3 of the complementary packages, and the quality of the fabrics its great! Everything is better than in the pics! The only problem is to book things since they work with palace resorts people its hard to ask for anything directly... The rooms are amazing! This is the third hotel I visited here at punta cana and is by faaar the best. Everybody speaks good english, the food is great! But be aware of the fact that your guests will eat and drink too much son don't worry about your wedding menu! I'll try to upload pictures!

I'll be in DR between feb22-march3 so I probably will visit dreams la romana on your wedding day, I'm so exited! But still havent found a location for the religious ceremoy, anyone have an idea of a catholic church location nearby?

Gina do you have a list of the costs of some things from your wedding? Like the room rates? The extras? I realy love this hotel but it seems a little expensive, so your coments about price will be extremely helpful to me.

@chanelo yeap thats right, I tried to contact even the priest but the arrangements are only made throught casa de campo... Too expensive... I have a lot of friends in DR and tryied all the options... About the dress I'll do some alterations because I plan to loose some weight but according to your advice I'll do it like 2 months before the wedding, but I absolutly love the dress,the only problem would be the fabric cause I know DR has a wet and very hot wheater... So I guess I wouod need a second dress... Are you doing a religious ceremony? Or just the civil one? What I can highly recoment to you is to pay a little more and travel in first class so you will save yourself a loooot of trouble... I'm from Paraguay and travel with my dress from Ny... It was crazy, in each airport they tried to take the dress and ship it with my other luggage... I think none of this would happen if I was on first class, besides you have those extra weight for free on the other luggage to take decorations or welcome bags... I also bought the book from the knot about destination weddings andit has an interesting check list of stuf you should take with you... Well I wish you the best on those few days left!

I'm getting married at DR but I absolutely loved the altos de chavon church, and apparently it's only possible to do the ceremony there if your gests are in casa de campo, And I was considering my gests saying at dreams la romana instead of casa de campo because of the $$$ difference. Has anyone married at altos de chavon without paying for casa de campo the 30 night they ask for?
