LOVE the dress, I think you have inspired me to make appointments to go shopping!
-
My goal is to find a dress by the end of September so I will get it in around the holidays. I too am hoping to lose a few pounds- i am doing ok. I am not working out (but work in a restaurant 12+ hours, so TONS of walking and running around) but I am watching what I eat. I LOVE the idea of sending invites around October/November and reminding people around Christmas time. I think after the holidays people are stressed and feeling poor. Give them some time, and maybe if they get a few bucks they can treat themselves to paradise to be a part of my special day.

I am also running out of stuff.... ish. I need to jump on the wagon and find a dress- Am I the only woman not super excited about this? I am putting it OFF!! My next projects are a dress for me and my ladies and wedding invites. I am going to attempt passports with either a postcard response or luggage tag. Then, i will worry about decorations. I just want lots of candle light. Miss you girls over here! Its been SO busy!

Hey girl, what did you end up doing for the official invite? I want to see pix

Hi Tulum bride! I am getting married on May 18, 2013. What ten days will you be there for? I decided to hire an outside dj and photographer. I was not expecting how expensive photography was, but I read many reviews saying that the photographers at the resort weren't great. We decided those were 2 things we didn't mind spending money on. Now we have to pinch our pennies somewhere else. Also, we have a thread set for May 2013 brides if you need more help on time and planning! Cheers and welcome to BDW!!

bing.com/travel works really well just to get an idea. it tells you when prices are steady, when to buy, and when to wait!

i want in too! i work crazy hours- 230 pm-1 or 2 am because I work in a restaurant. Its hard to have extra time to go to the gym. I am 5'4 and about 125-130 lb. I would love to drop 10 lbs but am most interested in toning and eating and living more healthy. By May I also want a bikini body! i don't know how i feel about showing pix of my un toned belly -
i didn't want to use a travel agent either, but it is helping SO much! its 1 less thing you need to worry about. Especially once your guests start to book rooms

i feel good now that the STD's are out. I am also trying to live a healthier lifestyle so i will be more in shape by May I think next on my list is dress shopping and looking for BM dresses. I am hoping to look for clothes by the end of summer so maybe I can get a great sale! I want to shop for OOT bags so bad but not sure on the number of people yet. What is your man going to be wearing? Are you doing linen pants?

I finally finished my DIY boarding passes, and wanted to share with everyone because I couldn't have done it without this site! I am not very artsy fartsy so this was a bit of a challenge at first. After, all my friends and family received them I impressed myself. I tried to keep everything on a budget. If you ladies have any questions let me know. I will attempt to give you step by step what I did. For Supplies: At Michael's I purchased~ 1 8 oz bag of raffia $5.99 (lots left over) 2 pks pastel flower brads $2.29 ea 2 pks double sided tape $3.99 ea 1 mega glue stick $2.99 1 brad setter $7.99 (bought on a whim, and so glad I did) used a paper cutter (already had one) i printed off a 40% coupon on line and my total was $26.33 Another BDW bride lead me to envelopperinc.com - thank you for that! I bought: 2 pks stardream vista #10 envelope 4 1/8 x 9 1/2 - 50/pk $17.90 ea And, I walked into paper source, and fell in love with the paper so I splurged on that because I felt like I had been doing pretty good! 10 pks of 8.5 x 11 text weight paper shimmer-silver $3.75 ea for a pk of 10 (10% off when you buy 10 pks) and, I grabbed labels for my logo~ 2 pks of 2.5 inch orange printable circle labels $5.95 (I have plenty left over for more projects) My FFIL works at a college and was able to print for us, no charge! What a great guy He also rounded the corners of the boarding pass for me, and preforated the passes so that they looked authentic. to assemble everything: My MOH put the brads to connect the passes. My BM cut the paper, while i glued the sides. We then printed out the logos on the labels. I wrapped raffia around the paper and stuck on the labels: My BM hand wrote all the addresses and we used the double sided tape on the envelopes so we didn't have to lick all of them The only other thing I spent money on was stamps. 80 was $36 Special shout out to all you ladies who took the time to explain how to do this! It really pushed my creativity and I feel great! My friends and family couldn't believe I put this together. If there are any questions, let me know! My one tip is, keep it under 1 ounce so you only need 1 stamp! You don't need heavy paper. It comes from your heart and people will love it! Cheers ladies!

Are most of you ladies buying your own sashes or renting them? I haven't looked into this much. What is the differences in price?

I also love the dresses!!! I think that is my next project to work on~ i am kinda nervous !!! And, I just found out the my FMIL wants to book a room right next to us, NO THANKS!!! What do I do? HELP ME

can you PM me with details on your catamaran tour? are you covering the cost or having everyone chip in?
-
how many people are you inviting to the welcome dinner? they have a wine cellar, but the max is 35 people. I think i want to do that the night before the wedding as a rehearsal dinner. i am not sure if we are gonna do a welcome dinner, instead maybe everyone meets at one of the bars so I am not being charged for food and drink already included in the package.

we are booking for 8 nights...then would like to take a mini moon for 4 days. Belize is definately our best option so far. If that doesn't work out well, we will fly home and go somewhere else, just us. I like the option of maybe going to a different resort in the area, but I think I would rather change it up all the way. then, we are thinking about a honeymoon in jan/feb (if tropical) or possibly spring (europe) .

i am working and running like crazy! I will try to post my STD's shortly. Ended up doing about 80... FMIL keeps sending me more addresses I am having a hard time deciding when to send out formal invites. I was thinking nov-feb... What's better before or after the holidays? Dresses I am thinking August (we might be moving in a few months) ... but I am getting excited to try on dresses. I like the Maggie Sotero dresses, but trying to stay on a budget as well. I like the lace layer on top- not sure if i want strapless or not?! I want to lok for bridesmaid dresses now, before next spring. Maybe grab a slae at end of season? I am also having a hard time deciding if i want to go barefoot or wear shoes? what about after? any thoughts ladies? Originally Posted by ChocoTaco7568
