I'm in Vancouver so am considering heading to Seattle to Macy's or Nordstroms if I can't find anything. But before I set that in motion - I thought I'd check if anyone had seen any dresses out and about that could work. thanks!!

Try RW&CO., Jacob L'Atelier, Zara, maybe even the Bay.
If I think of others or see anything, I'll let you know!
Thought of two others - Melanie Lynn and Laura.

May I ask who on Etsy you purchased the sash from? I'm looking for one and yours is just beautiful! Thanks

Whoa, that's expensive...unless it's a really big bag...? I'm definitely interested in your contact, Jamaican Rum Cream would be a great option too.
Thanks,

That would be fantastic, thank you so much! Emailing you right now...

The prices are pretty fair, we are getting a bunch of things and having them delivered to the resort the day we check in as a welcome for our guests. Hope this helps a bit.

Hi Marlena - thanks so much for this!
What did you do for wedding favours? We'd like our favours to be jerk seasoning and possibly Blue Mtn coffee but we've no clue how to find a reputable co. to package and deliver these to the hotel so we don't have to haul them down ourselves. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

- Don't stress that the WC don't email you back right away. They function on Jamaica time! They didn't even tell me the time for my hair/makeup until the day before the wedding, but they treat you like a princess and do everything for youask for when you are there
- tell TaiFlora your budget for centerpieces. They will rip you off with pricing, but I told them I wanted to pay $60 USD per table (8 tables, prices add up!) and they came back with 3 cylinder vases with floating orchids and 4 votives on the tables, which was beautiful
- we had our wedding favours delivered in Jamaica. We ordered them from a company down there so we didnt have to drag 20 extra pounds of junk down there, and it was worth it. Or you can buy all kinds of appleton rum in different sizes at the gift shop and tie ribbons around it at each place setting (which i would have done, if i had have known!)
- the spa did a great job on my hair/makeup, and prices were the same as what we would pay at home (i think around 175 for me, since i was the 'bride', i was more money)
- we did a welcome booklet and handed it out on the plane...some old ladies on the plane asked me for it, they thought it had coupons or travel advice! made me laugh...but i didnt do welcome bags. we had 62 people, and it was better to just spend time with everyone while we were all together in paradise!
- the steel band was definately worth the money! we had them for 2 hours on the beach, and it was perfect
- marcia roberts did a great job with the photography. my photos arrived within 3 weeks of the wedding, and i went to costco with a disc and printed multiple copies! we ended up wtih over 1,000 shots! Her price was decent, and the pictures turned out fabulous!
The only thing we forgot was to pick the songs for the ceremony! make sure you have thought about - walking down the aisle/beach, bridesmaids song, bride song, an interlude for singing the registry and then your grand exit as husband and wife!
I hope this helps!

Does any have the current Aunt Ruby's menu to share please? I saw one on here ages ago but I'm betting like many other things, it's changed.
I believe I read that in addition to the choice of three entrees, that they'll also do up a vegetarian plate - can someone confirm pls?
Lastly, do they offer a kids meal?
Thanks!

I'm a Dec 2012 bride and this is the first I'm hearing of this...<sigh>
If the Suites have changed the terms of their agreement then they should be notifying every couple who has already signed the agreement. Soooo frustrating!

I requested the updated wedding details from the WC. She gave me the updated document that is still titled "2012 Wedding Details" but has changed the minimum number of people needed for certain restaurants. See below:
Private Events:
Aunt Ruby 7-10:30 pm. Groups of 100 or more only according to the new info.
Calabash: 6:30-10pm. Seats between 70-100 people depending on the seating arrangment.
Mediterranean: "If you would like to have a private dinner, but have less than 70 guests, we offer the Mediterranean Restaurant for rental from 6:30pm until 10pm. (The minimum number of people to have this restaurant in private is 40 adults and depending on the seating arrangement it fits up to 50 persons)."
I don't really understand what you are supposed to do if you want a private reception with dancing and you only have 60 adults since the Med. restaurant says that it fits up to 50.
Is this new document true? In other words, is this document affecting any of the upcoming weddings? I really hope there is some way around this... I don't want to have a reception at the Mediterranean restaurant.

I know I can subscribe to any/all of the Canadian cities that participate, but I couldn't stand going thru that many e-mails every day! If you happen to see one pop up for your city, would you PM me or post it on this thread? I've seen offers from other printers, but I really want to hold out for offers from Photobook Canada. Thanks a bunch!!!

Hang in there Vanessa! The WC's at the Suites are very busy with weddings practically every day of the week. They haven't forgotten about you, they just take longer to get back. I would say that 99% of us on this forum went through what you're going through right now, and it's nerve-wracking, but call/email as you feel you need to. (I took me three weeks to get my date confirmed, just FYI.)
From what I've learned from (recently) married brides on this forum is that the closer it is to your wedding date, the better they are about communication. So until you're a couple of months (weeks??) out, this will likely be the norm. So, ask any questions well ahead of when you need answers by. And most importantly, use all the knowledge and experience from the ladies on this forum - chances are you can get almost every question answered here, and fairly quickly!
Good luck!

Choosing photos and getting a book produced is my kind of scrapbooking too.
I see group deals for photo books all the time, so your experience with Photobook Canada is really appreciated as I had no idea which one to go with. Most deals are good for a year, hence my looking now. I figure if I'm getting married in December, I should have my photos within a couple of months, and then should be able to get my book(s) ordered a couple of months after that. I hope.

We were under a time crunch with our last book (the professional wedding pics...I had four hours to do it as the groupon expired the end of that night) but we love the outcome and want to do another book with our own/our guests' photos from the wedding week. If anything pops up on the e-mails I get, I'll post here too. Because all of the ordering is done online, it doesn't matter which city they post the groupon for, as long as it's for Canada.
The very first book they did for us had some issues, nothing major, but the white pages at the front and back of the book were wavy. They asked us to send a pic in and when they saw what was wrong, they offered to reprint it for us right away and we were able to keep the original book as well.
Anyone tried lots of photo book printing companies and have a favourite (for whatever reason)?

I'm looking for them for my upcoming wedding so I'll let you know!

Thanks for sharing Christina! Your photos are so much fun - clearly because you two had fun and because you had a great photog!
Are you planning to post a review? I'd love to hear about your experience and anything that might help us IRHS brides-to-be.
Congrats on your marriage!

I'm looking for a sash for my wedding gown. It needs to be diamond white or light ivory in colour, with crystals and/or a large flower.
I don't mind if it's preloved or new, as long as it's in perfect condition.
Thanks!
-
Ooh, they are very pretty - thanks for the tip!

These can be purchased online or at the post office.

I'm also interested in a smaller amount of the red petals. (Any idea how much is enough to scatter on the aisle runner?)
Thanks,
Sarah

I'm looking for a pale aqua or turquoise. I've been looking for awhile, and the only dresses I've found that I like are in bridal stores, so I'll just go with one of those.
