  1. Your travel agent should be working with the resort/Miami office in arranging the bookings. Your guests can book through a travel agent and you can receive complimentary nights/unlimited functions, so long as your travel agent is making the bookings under your group booking number. I gave Marlyn Tobon my travel agent's name and they've been in communication as far as bookings go. Yes, I've heard as long as 2 months and as little as two weeks for refunds. I think it depends on the resort and coordinator.
  2. Far18, Who is your wedding planner? There have been some staffing changes in the Miami office. I am also getting married Dec 2012, 12/15/12. I know Marlyn Tobon is in charge of the bookings, so if they've overcharged you, you may be able to get some answers from her. She's been pretty quick to respond to my emails. Email addresses have changed as well, hers is [email protected].
  3. Thanks Mrs2BE for the facebook info! I just checked it out, fantastic group! I've finally found out the name of my new wedding coordinator in Miami (after several unanswered emails/phone calls); her name is Lisa. Although, I don't have her email address just her extension in Miami. Does anyone else have Lisa as their coordinator in Miami? If so, can you share with me her email address and your experience working with her? I've already left her a few voice mail messages! Thanks! Kia
  4. Hello Ladies, I just want to put your minds at ease a little bit. My sister got married last year in Riviera Maya at a Palace resort and also worked with the wedding department in Miami. She suggested being patient, her wedding turned out beautifully and she didn't arrange anything or speak to anyone until 3 months prior to her wedding date. If you haven't checked out earlier posts in this forum, I suggest checking out page 7. A bride that was married at Hard Rock in 2011 posted her video that displays the resort, as well as wedding and ceremony locations. It put me a little at ease after speaking to my sister about the headaches I've been having about contacting the wedding department in Miami and then reading previous posts from past brides. Just a few words of encouragement! Good luck everyone.
  5. DRb2b: I contacted Marlyn earlier this week, and apparently Maylen is no longer employed with Palace Resorts!! She was my wedding coordinator as well. Marlyn told me that someone will contact me soon. I'm giving it another week or two, then will put in another email/call to her.
  6. I have had the best luck e-mailing Maryln Tobon; [email protected] She responds very quickly (the day of or next day) in answering my questions and put me in contact with my wedding planner.
  7. Hi Ladies, I see that I'm in the same boat as many of you. They too have changed my WC from Renee to Maylen. I had my phone conference today with Maylen, and I'm a bit more confused then I started. I'm getting the complimentary package, but it seems that if you want to bring anything extra, have anything extra etc... it's an additional cost. She could not provide me with pictures of the ceremony locations nor reception locations, so if anyone has them can you possibly share? I even asked about where my fiancee and I are getting ready for the ceremony. She stated that an additional room is not provided. We'd have to change in the same room, or use a guest's room!! I think I will call the resort directly. My sister got married at the Palace resort in Riviera Maya and they gave her the presidential suite in order to prepare for the ceremony. Maylen did not seem to know the answers to many of my questions.

  9. Hi all, I'm recently engaged (11/11/11), and now have to make a decision on where our wedding is held! I'm trying to decide between Aruba, Grand Cayman or St. Lucia. We're estimating between 30-40 people and would like the resort that we choose to have an all-inclusive plan/option even if it is only breakfast. Does anyone have any suggestions where I should start my search? Our wedding date is going to be 12/15/12. Thanks a bunch!
