    I spoke with my photographer last night from Photos in Cancun, and he had nothing but AMAZING things to say about the resort. His wife, who is Mexican, told me that the food at the Jade was their fave out of all the resorts in the area! He also said Pliar is "the shit" LOL! and that the resort is fantastic. I asked him about the cleanliness, etc and he had nothing negative to say. And i dont think he has any vested interest, they work all over the area, so it wouldn't benefit him in any way to amp up the Now Jade, if it weren't true.

    Hey Brandi, We are also trying to figure out the DJ situation....we don't have him coming til after the first hour so we have nobody to announce. We really don't want to ask one of our guests to do it, but I don't know what other options there'd be? We haven't even looked at the champagne toast. Omgod we have so much to do in only 13 days!!!!!!

    OMG My heart is actually HOT. Like, I am going to have a heart attack!!!!!!! This TRAVEL AGENCY IS GOING TO PUT ME IN THE CRAZYHOUSE. I just found out that she didn't arrange for ANY TRANSFERS for our guests from the airport to the resort. By fluke, in emailing w/ my planner at the resort, she asked me how we were all getting there. So I just did it. CAN YOU IMAGINE???? We leave in 14 DAYS. ON TOP OF THAT. We are leaving the Now Jade to go to La Perla for an additional week, so we need a xfr there. Our Air Can tix include a xfr service, as well as our wedding pkg from the resort includes xfrs, so we want to use one of those xfrs to get us from the airport to Now Jade. Then another from Now Jade to La Perla. Then La Perla to airport. Easy, right? Oh no, she is telling us no, and we have to pay $150 for a xfr from La Perla to the airport. This, after she told one of our guests that transfers are $30.00. So why are we being charged $150????? Someone please talk me off the ledge.

    Hey Kristen, I just read your last post.  That is horrible.  I cannot believe how messed up your flight situation is at this point.  You definitely deserve that wine and cinnabon  Yes, if you could send me the spreadsheet from AVI Solutions, that would be great.  Are you receiving the 2 hours of DJ service in place of Live Music or are you paying for them seperately.  We are getting married October 19th, so it definitely isn't as close as your date, I still feel like it is coming so quick. I am going crazy trying to figure out what we have to declare bringing in.  We are going to have our sashes, runners, oot bags and stuff like that.  We were going to included tylenol and such in the oot bags, but I don't know if the travel single serve packs or us bring in a bottle of it and put them in little baggies when we get there. Thanks! Hey, Np, I can send to you, want to DM me your email? We took the two hours instead of live music yea, but we didn't extend beyond that, we just found our costs climbing and climbing. Our $3000 pkg was heading towards $5500 so we had to cut back on some stuff, which sucks. I also am freaking out about what to declare, we're bringing sashes, runners, chair bows, lanterns and vases, OOT stuff too. We got those teeny ziplock bags 2x2" for our needs and already separated them all out so I hope that's not a huge problem! We haven't put our bags together yet, just put stuff in separate freezer bags and will do it once we get there. Pilar said our private transfer will give us about an hour lead time on the rest of the group, so we're going to do it as soon as we arrive, and distribute at our welcome dinner (free, btw in the buffet restaurant, Pilar is sectioning off an area for us). We still have so much to do, although we're having a hard time confirming that, since our house is in utter chaos right now!!!

    Hey Brandi, I have the contact info and spreadsheet from AVI Solutions, the DJ company that replaced Doremixx if you want, i can forward to you? I totally get your frustration with Pilar. She is very hit and miss, though we had a lengthy phone conversation 2 wks ago and I feel much better about everything. Our problem is with our totally inept travel agent, who complicates every detail and confuses things, Pilar actually asked me if we could eliminate including my agent in the planning of the actual wedding bc of how effed up everything is getting! My stupid ipad installed the bdw app and its all messed up on the web now so my display doesn't look normal- when is your wedding date? Xo Kristen

    I am so stressed, I could just cry. Our travel agent has effed up. Again. She send us our boarding passes last. Week (after promising and re-promising and delaying and delaying). She sends Anthony's sister their 4 passes- her, hubby and their 2 kids. Her hubby is sitting 6 rows up, no big deal, right? And her 4yr old son my nephew, is seated BY HIMSELF 4 rows back. So my sis-in-law to be emails her, asks for it to be corrected, as obviously her little guy cannot sit alone on the plane. Duh. This was on Apr 24th. We have been promised over and over AND OVER that this would be fixed, then our agent disappears for days. She finally emails my SIL on Wed and says she's sending over the new tix ASAP. Nothing. Then Wed night, says she'll send them first thing Thurs am. NOTHING. So we email today, no response. I call there and am told she is out of the office today. So Anthony spoke with another agent, as at this point, I am just raging. She rummages around our agent's desk, says "oh, found it, I'll email them over right now". Then proceeds to send us the ORIGINAL passes. I could just scream. And we tried to call Air Canada ourselves but they refuse to talk to us since they are contracted out with our travel agency. I. Could. Scream. We leave in 17 days. Now I'm freaking out that our agent was stupid enough to cancel our seats without locking in the new ones or something. I will kill. I swear to lord, I will lose my ever-loving mind. I made it a year and a half with no zilla moments, and I'm due. I am so due. Our original agent was fabulous, but then the company got bought out by another Agency last July and its been friggin nightmare ever since. I can't even handle this shit right now. Hence why I'm sitting on the couch with wine and Cinnabon. Once we get back, I am going to SLAM them on bdw- who, by the way, recommended me to this company (with the previous owners). So so unfortunate. And since we live in London and the agency is in Vancouver, it complicates things further with the time change and trying to get shit resolved. Ughhhhhhhhh Kristen

    I AM SO SWAMPED!!! I feel like I have so much to do and not enough time!!! Work is crazy (end of term) and life is just passing me by. We depart in 3 wks today!!!!!!! I still need to write my ceremony, figure out the music....gah. Anyone else going batty?

    Oops clicked too early We have hired PIC for our photos so we aren't using the resort photog for the wedding. Pilar said we could use him for something else but for one hour only. So we're thinking of having him cover one hour of our dancing, or if not then she suggested a photo shoot another time, either for us or for our guests. Just something to think about, she said he has done beach "photo shoots" with guests in the past, so that's an option..

    eeeeek we leave in 4 weeks from yesterday!!! Had a half hour call w Pilar yesterday and I'm feeling pretty good. A word of advice, her written communication is far worse than her verbal, so I highly recommend arranging a phone call with her to hash out details. She is very thorough and followed up with an email. I have found that if I have been very directive in my emails, she is very clear. One thing about the resort photog, as I have seen a few posts lately...we have hired Derek Campbell (PIC)

    So exciting! A friend of mine went in Feb and lovvvvvved it. We just booked at Paradisus La Perla Hi! I just booked there for our honeymoon as well! I heard it is a gorgeous resort! Congrats!

    Ladies, I need help! What are you getting as a wedding gift for your groom? We have set a limit of $200 each, but I am at a total loss. A watch is out, as he's said on numerous occasions that he'd never wear it. I got him "I love my dad" cuff links from daughter to him in an engraved case. Other than that, I am so screwed!! Any fab ideas out there? Kristen
