  1. I want to buy a shore reception dress from them. Has anyone ordered anything short from them? I want something sexy but appropriate for the event.
  2. Hahah my Fiance and I are arriving on the 21st as well. Perhaps I will see you around the pool? :-) I have been working with Claudy che, but she is going on Maternity leave next week so I will have another wedding coordinator...TBD I have a 5pm ceremony, and then hopefully we are having a cocktail hour on the rooftop of the Caribe. I am not super happy about that because its supposedly a very large space, but they said they can block some of it off so it seems more intimate. I really really reallyyyy wish I did a site visit, because I am worried that it won't be nice up there on the roof. So basically it's a gamble... Which package are you using? Did you get a DJ through the hotel? I read somewhere on here that the Royal is doing a promotion on day-passes 3 for $180 vs 3 for $300. I think I am going to have friends staying at the caribe as well as the Royal. I would like to have them come over and party with me on the Royal side!
  3. Also, I am not going to lie...,my fiance and I went to Cancun in November of 2010 and we snuck on the Royal's property for a little while- no problems. We didn't try to get any food or drinks...we just hung out by the pool.
  4. Hey! Maybe you can hit up the Costco or Walmart in Cancun before your guests arrive? Buy some little stuff there for your OOT bags? I've been trying to figure out if my Mom can go over there and pickup flowers (Costco) for the reception centerpieces...
  5. Where do you get the day passes for 60 dollars a piece? I probably would buy a few for friends that will end up staying at the Caribe. Help?
  6. My wedding coordinator is Claudy che, but she is leaving for maternity leave next week so I will get assigned a new WC. I understand the January 1st RSVP, but maybe you should push it out a little further? A lot of people have holiday bills to pay and might be overwhelmed with the idea of paying for a vacation thats 6 months away. I am hoping for final RSVP by 1-April. I am beyondddddd frustrated with the wedding coordinators at realresorts. I pretty sure that anyone that comes to MX will stay at the Royal. They only have 1-2 areas that host private receptions for parties less than 50 people. The only private reception place they have (which I took out of desperation) is the rooftop terrace on the gran caribe side (green floor, ugh). I also have to have the cocktail hour up there because they can't squeeze my cocktail hour on the beach by pelicanos which is where my ceremony will be. SORRY JUST VENTING! I am seriously considering having the reception at another hotel. Most of my family who are coming is staying at the Royal, but I do not like the idea of having the reception on a rooftop that is made for over 150+ people! I really really don't know what to do, but I guess I am acting like a bridezilla right now. Would it be crazy to push my date forward or back a day so I can get a better location?
  7. LaBebita911, I don't think you have anything to worry about. I am in the same boat as you, and don't really have much DEFINATELY planned other than my date (june 23,2012). It's tough trying to buy things when you don't have a headcount of people coming. I am experiencing the same frustrations. I have to wait to get my invites out and RSVPs back. I don't even know how many people to expect!!! People can be very flighty, but I am hoping some of my friends will suprise me and come down to MX. What do you think is a minimum amount of people to have a private reception? I am hoping to have at least 20, but a max of 40-50 (unlikely). I don't want it to fee huge, and empty in the reception. I feel your frustration!
  8. I honestly think that your first choice is probably the best choice. Don't drive yourself crazy! There are SO many dresses out there that you probably find other things you like as much as the dress you already have. As long as it looks great, is beautiful to you, and is comfortable (enough!) I wouldn't worry so much about other dresses. It's only one day!

  10. Hi Alma, I am getting married on June 23 2012 at the Royal in Cancun. My trip will overlap your wedding! How's everything going so far with planning? Hope to hear from you!! Melissa
  11. When I initially saw them I thought, WOW they are pretty much what I am looking for (colors, sophistication...etc.) but I showed them to my Mom and she thought they didn't look "bridal" enough. I don't want to do the passport invitations because I don't think they are formal enough for my wedding, but I really should have considered them for the STD because they are soooooooo cute! I like them enough that I am getting the company to send me a copy to decide...thanks for your opinion.
  12. In all honesty, what do you guys think of this invite for a beach wedding in Mexico?? I am having the editor downsize the flower by 50%. HELP PLEASE!! Thank you all so much!
  13. Could you please send me the template for your brochures?? Everything you did looked fantastic! I hope you had a wonderful time at your wedding. My email is : [email protected]
  14. Anyone would be able to come with us to the club. I am not going to just invite the "younger" people. CocoBongo is just an amazing show on top of being a cool club to go to. I just don't want people to be pissed that there wasn't a "typical" reception that would would find at other weddings.
  15. Hi! I am getting married at the Royal in Cancun in June 2012. It's an all inclusive and the wedding package only includes a 1.5 hour "reception" with the package. It basically allows us enough time to have everyone have dinner together at one of the restaurants. I will be paying for an additional cocktail hour after the ceremony, but I was thinking about not having a reception with a DJ/dance floor etc?? There are so many great nightclubs in Cancun that it seems kind of silly to hire a DJ+extra time for reception+ other incidentals which could be big money. Question is: Would it be terribly tacky to not have a "dance reception" at the hotel, but get all the younger guests to go to one of the clubs that evening?? I don't know what to do! Any opinions are welcome.... Thank you! Melissa
