  1. I started P90x a couple months ago and was able to stick to it for 3 weeks only... Anyone have any tips for staying motivated? I know it works, but I still can't stick to it 6 days a week...
  2. My boyfriend proposed when we were on vacation already so we just got the resort photographer to take some photos of us the next day and are using those as our engagement photos. Here are a few.
  3. Thanks everyone for your kind words! Its great to get an unbiased opinion! dallace - I'm getting married in Mexico in August, so I'll be melting along with you! I think I'm going to take some fabric out of the skirt and the front is pretty flowy so I'm hoping I can get some ventilation going. Anyone have any tips for keeping the sweating to a "glow"? I guess my boyfriend will be the one doing most of the sweating anyway. MJKH - That's a great idea, maybe I'll also buy a second more simple, flowy dress and get some photos in it another day. That should satisfy my need for the more plain dress. MissBubbles205 - I actually bought it in a trunk sale last year before it was available for wide purchase so I'm not sure where carries it. I know on their website http://www.allurebridals.com/ you can search for stores that carry the label. It's Allure - Exclusive Collection - #2511. I'll include a picture to give you a better idea of what it's like. Thanks again everyone. Now that I got some positive feedback I kinda want to go try it on again & get excited about it!
  4. Thanks everyone for your kind words! It really helps to have an unbiased opinion - you never know if your friends are telling you what they think you want to hear; some of them were supportive of some pretty awful dresses dallace - I'm getting married in Mexico in August, so I'll be melting right along with you. 5. Alright, I need some help in a moment of panic. I bought my dress back in September and it just came in so I went to try it on. I really like it, I just see so many flowy, plain dresses that I like and feel like would suit me better. What do you guys think? Is this dress too formal/got too much going on for a beach wedding? I only tried on a few dresses before buying this one, so maybe I'm just freaking out now that the wedding's closer and I haven't yet lost those 15lbs I was planning on dropping
  6. I'm just wondering if you ladies are planning on soldering your rings together? I love my e-ring and my band, but I find when I wear them together they don't stay together just right. They're sized properly and do fit together, but they just don't stay together... I work in medical research so am generally wearing gloves a lot of the time so I'm not sure if I'll want to wear my e-ring all the time once I have my band... Thoughts? Any advice is appreciated!
  7. I find the same thing. I feel like the initial contract is more of a formality to ensure they're making "at least" the amount of money listed in your contract.
  8. Hi sillygirl702, I'm kind of in the same boat as you are. We're planning on between 10 and 15 guests and I'm starting to feel like $2100 for the base package we booked is too much. I mean if the cocktail hour on the beach only costs ~$11/head that's really worthwhile. Do you know if you can still have a private reception by the pool without booking the package. If we're only going to have 10-15 people it may work out to be cheaper. This whole thought came about because we wanted to upgrade our food package (specifically to get caprese salad), but to pay for the whole package and then extra on top...? we wanted to have a small wedding in Mexico to keep it on the cheap side. Maybe I'll sit down later and properly work out the comparison. Especially now that I know the hair & makeup prices! Thanks again KCDawn!
  9. Thank you so much!!! I've been asking about this forever and everywhere. Hmm.... I feel like that may sway me even more towards doing the complimentary package and just paying for the things I'd like; $110 is super cheap...
  10. Now that the holiday hangover is over I'm starting to dive into the wedding planning a little more. We've booked the Secrets of Love package and I'm wondering if that was the best decision... I mean the extras that you get (that I care about) over the complimentary package are: - Hair and makeup (which I've heard mixed reviews about) - Cocktail hour - Reception dinner - Photo package Has anyone priced out or heard of anyone trying to use the basic package and pay upgrade fees for the cocktail hour, private dinner, and photography package (I could do my hair/makeup myself if need be)? We can cancel the package we booked before the end of the month to get our deposit back so I just wanted to make sure I had really sussed it all out. Thanks for any advice you ladies can offer.
  11. Thanks nicc80! I'm not getting married until the end of August, but we had booked the wedding package in October. I don't feel like I really need to touch base with her until it gets closer, but since everyone was only mentioning Cecilia I was starting to get nervous that maybe I should be checking in with her. Happy to hear that you're having a positive experience with her!
  12. Thanks so much! This was super useful for me as I had been going back and forth on a few of the things you listed.
  13. You must be so excited! You're lucky to be able to do a site visit! We'll all be waiting to bombard you with questions when you get back
  14. Congrats JenJasonNYC! I'm getting married at Secrets in the summer and was wondering which package you guys ended up choosing? Did you hire any external vendors? If you used the resort for photos and/or hair & makeup how did you find it? So many questions!
  15. Checked out your pinterest board. What type of photos I wanted hadn't really crossed my mind, but it certainly is now!! So many great ideas!
  16. Fantastic! There aren't many boards devoted to just Destination Weddings so this has been extremely helpful and a great source of inspiration! Thanks
  17. Pinterest has been a great help for me as well! Although it's so easy for the pinning to get out of control Looking at the boards that you ladies have shared has also been a huge help! My account is /kristinalilly if you want to take a peek at mine.
  18. Hi everyone, I've just started looking at shoes and found these which I love. They're Louboutin Petal Sandals in pink. I love shoes, but have never prioritized the buying of them... I've seen these shoes for sale now for anywhere up to $900 (I nearly choked). I found a website http://www.redbottomshoeses.com/christian-louboutin-petal-sandals-pink-p-92.html that has them for sale for just over $100... has anyone heard anything about this website? Should I assume that it's too good to be true and that they're knock-offs? Any idea where I can get these for a realistic price? Thanks for any help!
