  1. I would talk to a travel agent who specializes in destination weddings. There are a few on this website and they are pros when it comes to choosing your resort based on the needs of you and your guests. Once you choose a resort, most of them have on site wedding coordinators that you can arrange everything with once you have booked. There are so many great resorts in Mexico- it will be nice to have them narrowed down, then I would check out reviews on this site. They have been very helpful!
  2. I have seen a few brides that have charms hanging off their bouquet with small photos of their pets- that might be a simple and creative way to incorporate your pets! Good luck!
  3. You did a wonderful job on your website! I wasn't planning on paying for one.. but now I might have to )
  4. Thank you so much for including every little detail- it really helps those of us who feel lost. This is an amazing planning thread. Also, congratulations!!
  5. Steph, Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!! Did you have you reception on the beach or ballroom? I would prefer beach but I have read reviews about how short they are getting. I don't want to have to end the party early! Thanks, Marin
  6. Definitely wait until you have a date booked. I have read in articles that proper etiquette is to send out the save the dates for a destination wedding at least 6-8 months in advance. You have to remember that many people will be booking their yearly vacations around your wedding- so the more notice, the better!
  7. I have checked out The Knot's Pages and they are pretty restrictive on what you can do. I have been looking for one where I have a bit more freedom also, so let me know if you come across anything. Thanks!
  8. I attended an all-inclusive wedding in Mexico last year. It was amazing being able to spend a whole week with the bride and grooms closest friends and family- since many of them live throughout the US and aren't able to see each other as often as they would like. We will also be having an all-inclusive wedding. It will give a chance for our families to get to know each other better- on a completely different level. Good Luck!
  9. I am so inspired by the turnout of your wedding. You did a fabulous job! If you don’t mind me asking- was Maya Diseno decently priced and did you have to pay the vendor fee or just meet them at the front? Also, where did you get your table overlays from? Thank you again- and Congratulations!
  10. Yes! There is a bathroom near the edge of the pool nearest to the beach. I was at a wedding there in March- the reception was center beach so the bathrooms were right there. However, it was a shoeless wedding and the pool bathroom is, well, a pool bathroom. We simply went back to our room, which was just a short walk away & much better than using the pool restrooms. Hope that helps!
  11. Does anyone have suggestions on a ceremony on the beach vs the gazebo. The background is beautiful on the beach- but I am also taking into account privacy, wind, sound, etc.
  12. LOVE Pinterest. I am so addicted. I don't know how people planned their weddings without it- and BDW of course!
  13. Those Welcome booklets are such a great idea!! Thanks for sharing!
  14. Hi Ladies (and gents), I am fairly new to this forum and figured I might as well introduce myself since I'll be a frequent flier for the next year or so. I am not actually engaged yet, but my bf and I attended a wedding at the Royal in April and it was hands down the best vacation we have ever been on! We have recently decided that we also want to get married at the Royal (date to be determined). I have been reading quite a bit of this thread and am grateful and inspired by everyones ideas and reviews. I am super OCD, so I figured getting a head start- or at least having a list of vendors and ideas- couldn't hurt. First thing we need to nail down is a date. We would prefer a wedding in February or March since we live in Michigan and it would be a nice break from the snow for our guests. However, I know that this is one of the busiest times of year to travel to Mexico. So I may reconsider December. Then again, traveling around the holidays can get pricey as well. Does anyone who has had their wedding in December have any advice? Was it too cold at night to have the reception on the beach & how was the weather overall? Also, I am wondering when the earliest is that you can book a wedding at the Royal. I know that flights are unavailable more than a year in advance so it is difficult to estimate pricing at this time as well. Thanks in advance for everyones help!- and everything that has been posted thus far! Since I have attended the Royal PDC for a wedding, I am more than willing to share any information to the best of my ability- but it looks like this forum has got you covered!
