  1. Iliketea - I have the same question. I'm going between the cheaper Dreams hair and that Neyssa that people have written about. I've written Neyssa twice over the last couple of months and haven't heard back from her though.... Any updates from you?
  2. I am in teh process of booking him too. He is setting up before the ceremony but we are using my ipod for the music. Apparently with the speaker system, we should be all good. They are pros.
  3. Hey Alanak - If he is a guest - there is no extra charge. It's just if vendors are coming for the day. Pheuff!
  4. Great pics! Love your cake!! I didn't notice in your review if you got your hair done at the salon at Dreams or not. If so - what did you think? thanks - hope married life is treating you well
  5. Hey Jlynne - would you be able to post a pic? Thanks for the heads up!
  6. Looking for advice. Did you ladies pay for the hair and make up of your bridesmaids?
  7. I think you and I are in similar boats. Did you pay for their hair and makeup and gifts too?
  8. LolaTX - I am in exactly the same position. The girls' dresses (3 bms) were $200 each (BCBG down from $450 to $200 taxes in). I feel like I should help with that. Put $100 towards it. Is that their BM gift then? And are you paying for their hair and make up too?
  9. Thanks for the info! Stupid question potentially - but did they keep the drinks cold?? We are trying to decide between the official bubba mugs from their online store (with the insulation) http://www.shopbubba.com/c-17-mugs.aspx which will cost about $7.5-$8 each (For 50+ guests) or the factory 21 ones that are still fun and may still just do the trick? We would just fill the bubba mugs with a few things like advil etc bc we wouldn't be able to afford the mugs plus all the other stuff for that many people. Also - how many oz were your mugs?
  10. We are struggling between spending the extra money and getting the real Bubba Kegs from the online Bubba shop (Canadian tire didn't have enough stock) or going the Factory 21 or Discount Mug route which still look great but aren't the hardcore ones. We have over 50 people coming so we will get a discount on bubba mug site (15% off) but that is still a lot on mugs. Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not people appreciate the bubbas or if they would know the difference?
  11. In case anyone is still looking - canadian tire has bubba kegs going on sale on July 20th. 50 per cent off! Just got the advance notification. It may still be cheaper for me to buy them on the bubba website bc I need over 50 but thought I would let you all know.
  12. Hi ladies - I wonder if anyone can tell me what is average to spend on OOT bags? We have about 55 people coming and it is getting really expensive. I love Bubba Mugs but at $7-8 a piece, it is getting really pricey to add anything else. Advice appreciated
  13. Hey Krista Lee Ann - do you have any pics of how your factory 21 mugs turned out by chance? Am on the hunt for mugs for November wedding and am looking into F21. thanks!
  14. Wow! What a thorough review. Sorry to read that some of it wasn't quiet as planned..... but the fact that your days was amazing hopefully makes up for it! Welcome back and to married life!
  15. Thanks! I will definitely look. I'm not stuck on greys or purples either. I'm 6 months away and haven't picked my colours - so part of me thinks that if we find fab dresses - I can work them into my colours. Not sure if that's backwards. What colours are you looking for Sjay? Appreciate the direction ladies. The hunt continues....
  16. Hey Canadian brides - I am looking for bridesmaid dresses but am hoping to find sundresses or simple dresses that we don't have to order through bridal salons. I've checked Club Monaco, Aritzia, Banana Republic, Bebe, BCBG.... nothing so far. I'm looking for purples or greys - light in weight bc we will be in Cabo in Novemberc 2012. I'm in Vancouver so am considering heading to Seattle to Macy's or Nordstroms if I can't find anything. But before I set that in motion - I thought I'd check if anyone had seen any dresses out and about that could work. thanks!!
  17. Does anyone know how much the charge is to bring a photographer onsite or if there is a minimum they have to stay in order to be considered a guest? We are coming from Vancouver but am thinking of bringing a photographer from California (cheaper travel) and therefore more to spend on the quality of the photographer. Does Dreams charge a minimum 3 night stay or anything in order for us to not pay the external vendor fee (if there is one)? Thanks!
  18. Hi there, I asked the same question on another forum page. The ladies helped me out - that yes - it is in addition to the $65 dinner fee! I know! We have decided bc we have about 10 people staying off site (mostly at time shares) - we are asking our travel agent to let them know that there is a $95 day pass fee onto the resort. We just can't pay an extra $1000 for people who chose to stay elsewhere. The way we look at it is that we worked really hard to find a fabulous resort at a great price and if people don't want to stay there, we can't be responsible for extra charges. I feel kind of cheap doing that - but it adds up when we lots doing it.....Ugh. Etiquette. Thoughts?
  19. For our guests from Vancouver, it is $1745 with WestJet and for our Toronto guests it is about $1945 or so... but for Cabo they have to fly to Vancouver and down bc there are no direct flights with ACV or WJ from TO!
  20. Hey Alanak - thank you for this! So it isn't Per Hour??? That's a relief bc I was super worried about that one!!! And I love those Tiffany chairs but $8 / chair x 60 people....... I don't think so. There's a lot to try to wrap your head around in terms of what this will end up costing. But everyone's answers have been very helpful! Any and all insight on how to budget for this is welcome!!
  21. Where I bought my dress - they said to get a long veil bc it will be less impacted by the wind. the short veils catch more and will blow in your face. I'm thinking a long veil will add to the bridal feel - especially if coupled with a flower!
  22. Thanks for the webinar Tammy! It will be really helpful I'm sure! How often do you hold them?
  23. Sure do! I have friends and family from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta and BC all coming for this. I spent so much time trying to find a location that would make this wedding accessible for those that wanted to come (right price, right timing, right location) and it seems I may have done too good of a job! Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled so many people want to come - it's awesome. I just hadn't budgeted for this. Lots of people say that your numbers will drop when it comes to actually committing with money - and I had counted on that. We are two weeks away from the deposit deadline and the list isn't getting shorter. I'm actually trying to dissuade some people from coming - that sounds awful I know!
  24. Thanks Casi for your feedback! Are you serious- $95 per person who isn't staying on the resort? We have a bunch doing that also! Is that $95 + the $75 or whatever that you pay for the dinner? Are you covering the $95 cost of them entering the venue? Wow - I'm not sure how to handle that one. How has anyone else addressed that? Do you make the guests pay that part? And the $62-$75 - does that include linens etc? or is it just the dinner/cocktail?
