  1. I have had a hard time finding these as well. I have had several stores tell me that there are plenty around Christmas time, but they don't really carry them year round. I found some votives at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I have had to make several trips to both because sometimes they have the wax ones and some times they don't. I have yet to find good quality tealights.
  2. Hi CriCri, Cecilia is basically saying that if you do not need the video, you get a credit for it and put that credit toward something else such as DJ or upgraded photo package. Whatever the credit is used for has to be toward something not provided directly by the hotel....for example the food. You can't trade out video for upgraded food. You can tell her that you do not want the videographer and would like to put that money toward your upgraded photography. I hope that helps.
  3. I was so worried about this. I'm getting married during a holiday weekend and still have a few who have not booked. I have let them know that they may not get a room, but still. I'm so sorry that she was not able to get a room.
  4. That will be a tough one. I do think that if you want to walk alone then you should do it. But yeah, your dad will probably be a little sad, but maybe he will understand?
  5. My parents won't be attending my wedding. Well, my mom will but I don't want her walking me down the isle. My FI will walk both moms, then I will walk by myself. I've seen it done in lots of DW pics, plus I don't want FI to see me til I start walking down.
  6. I'm starting to really feel it. I have most everything done except for a few important things....deciding on music and first dance song as well as what the groom and his guys are going to wear!!!!
  7. I am hoping to have 2 checked suitcases, my purse (really a bag) and my dress. (Then whatever my FI has to bring).
  8. We received all RSVP's except for about 4 of them so far. Wedding is abou 6 weeks away.
  9. Right now I am a student nurse, hopefully an RN soon!
  10. Thank you! The more I think about it, the more I am leaning towards purchasing them. I think it could be worth the $40 for two bags, especially since I am not doing any other decor for the ceremony. I'm not purchasing anything for the chuppah.
  11. I was originally going to ship everything down there but am now just packing it all and checking it. I should be able to get it all in one suitcase, and maybe carry on the vases since they are glass. I'm only having three tables so it isn't too much. The candles I am using are votive size.
  12. I'm doing my own chair sashes and centerpieces. I have lots of the wax LED candles for the tables as well. We aren't purchasing any additional lighting, flowers, or decor. We can use our bouquets. I have 2 bridesmaids. I would like to purchase rose petals for the isle to give it some color. My sashes are ivory and my bridesmaids are a bright blue. I'm thinking one bag should be enough. If not, I would probably just opt out. Maybe I would splurge on 2 bags, but def not more than that. Also, @newlove, I don't think that they will allow fake petals. Is your ceremony on the beach? I think the overlays are a great idea. That is something I may look into, but I think we are pretty much done with the spending!
  13. Do ya'll think it would be okay to do instrumental songs for all of the ceremony except for the recessional?
  14. Well, I'll be happy to share my playlist. It's tentative and I'm still working on it. I'm using all Vitamin String Quartet songs for my ceremony. I don't want any singing for the ceremony, only instrumental. I just didn't really feel like the traditional classical songs fit us or our wedding so I still get some classical but also not traditional. So for the prelude I have in this order (remember all VSQ songs, so all string quartet if you aren't familiar with the group). Wouldn't it be nice (beach boys) You're My Best Friend (Queen) Bubbly (Colby Calait) And It Stoned Me (Van Morrison) Then for my fiance (he is walking our mom's down together), and our wedding party: We Belong (Pat Benetar/Blair's wedding rendetion) My song: Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis/Michael Buble) Interlude (not really sure what the interlude is so I just picked something I like): Blackbird(Beatles). Not sure about that song yet though. Postlude or exit song: All you need is love (the Beatles).
  15. Hey Lola, they offer s'mores. I read it on the wedding FAQ or whatever it is on the website that gives options/pricing. I think they are $10 each or $5 each or something. I read in an earlier post that "they aren't really smores but they are really good." not sure what that means lol. That could be a really fun option though! We considered doing that but have decided against it.
  16. Hmmmmm.....pretty much all resorts have "entertainment" such as volleyball, dance lessons, yoga, cooking demonstrations, tequila tasting, and different things like that every day. There will probably be a list of things going and give time/location when you get to the resort. Besides that, the entertainment staff will likely be out all day looking for people to participate in those things. Not sure if that is what you are asking, but that is the only thing I can think of.
  17. It is $250 for the setup and the bonfire lasts for 2 hours. We are doing a bar setup and that is an additional $10pp plus tax and gratuity. Cecilia suggested that we start at 8:30 so that everyone would have time to eat dinner before hand. We are doing the bonfire as a welcome party on Friday night. The wedding isn't until Sunday. I just don't want to be up and out drinking that late the night before the wedding.
  18. We are doing the bar only. We aren't doing food though. We are going to have everyone do their own thing for dinner and meet us at 8:30 on the beach for the bonfire. That is the main reason we are doing in on Friday rather than Saturday. I just don't want to be up drinking til 10:30 the night before the wedding. I am so excited!!
  19. Oh, and we are not going to decorate for the bonfire. We are just taking what it comes with.
