  1. Oh, there is someone operating the AV system ~ I didn't realize that!! Now it makes sense that it is an hourly fee. Thanks for posting that info! WEDDING BOOK-1.pdf
  2. I know that it makes sense to have a size that more people can fit into, I guess I just don't understand why they don't have 2 sample sizes. Like a 6 and a 12 or something? There is this one dress that I have loved forever, but they only had it in a 10 and because of the style of the dress everything was just SO disproportionate, that there was really no way to tell how it would actually look if it fit. Oh well, First World Problems, right.
  3. I think this one is beautiful!! And you definitely have the figure to pull this dress off!!
  4. Question about sample sale dresses ~ Are there any brides who have purchased sample sale dresses that are very petite? I am 5'2" and about 112 lbs. so every sample I have ever tried on has been WAY too big. I would totally be up for purchasing a dress this way, but I just can't imagine how they would make any dress look right. I know they can work wonders with those clamps, so I imagine they can do even more removing fabric, sewing things up, etc. but I'm still skeptical about whether the dress would look "right" because there are just some things I feel will still be disproportionately too big. Thoughts??
  5. I will! I emailed Anel this morning inquiring about the required number and price/person to do a buffet ~ but you know how that goes, it could be a few weeks before I hear anything (LOL). But I'll be sure to post the info as soon as I get it.
  6. Does anybody happen to know if there is a buffet option if you have a certain number of guests. Before deciding on Now Sapphire, we were looking at a few Dreams resorts (which are also part of amRESORTS). I know that if you have over, I believe 35 guests, you could choose to do a buffet for less $$/pp. My fiance has a huge family, his mom is one of 9, and we weren't expecting most of them to come. Well surprise, surprise last night he got a call from one of his uncles and the family is pumped to go to Mexico. OMG, we are going to be SO over budget it's not even funny!
  7. The "Wedding Book 2013" that Anel sent me when I confirmed with her says 11% tax and 15% service.
  8. I guess the only reason that I didn't think that there would be tax on the price of the packages is because all the rest of the fees have in parenthesis "plus 11% tax" - and I've never seen that next to the package pricing, so I just assumed (incorrectly) that tax was already included in that price. Is gratuity also included in that price? We'll definitely tip extra (I waited tables for MANY years), but I'm just wondering if I should be budgeting for more............. @ HeatherViolet, I was just looking over some of the papers that I've gotten from Anel, and what I have says "Sound System Equipment per Event $150" ~ just might be something you want to look into
  9. The prices we've contracted with actually don't include transfers, but I have reached out to our TA about setting up something so our guests can arrange/pay for airport transfers when they book their rooms.
  10. We did decide to book a TA, we're working with Teresa who we were connected with via BDW. I think it was definitely the way to go! When is your wedding?
  11. P.S. I would LOVE to get contact info on the florist you used. Looks like I'm going to have to start thinking outside the box a little to save some $$$$.
  12. Congratulations HeatherViolet!!! Can't wait to see some of your professional pictures! And thanks for the all the info regarding pricing ~ I can't believe nobody has mentioned on here before that they add on taxes to the price of the package!! That's kind of BS in my opinion, because I just looked through ALL of the info that Anel has sent me, and nowhere does it say that those prices are not inclusive of tax. And $150/hour to rent the sound system!! That's just absurd, I knew that it wasn't included for the reception, but I assumed that it was $150 flat. Right there is $500 more than I had planned on
  13. We just signed the contract with Teresa!! Yay!! I know that we made the right decision
  14. You got 25 of these for $45!!! That's insane!! They look terrific, and the quality looks pretty decent too.
  15. I'm an anxious planner as well, LOL! We just ordered cheap Save the Dates ~ we decided that we kind of had to send them out, because my FI has a huge family and even though we aren't expecting the majority of them to come we figured it was the best bet, so that no feelings got hurt. We were thinking we'd send out the actual invites about 4-5 months in advance, but then I realized that is between November 27th and December 27th, and I think there is too much of a chance for the invitations to get "lost in the shuffle" that time of year! So we'll probably send them out 6 months early. And no, I'm not even going to attempt to DIY on the invitations. I just got a bunch of samples from Wedding Paper Divas and I have a few more on the way from Exclusively Weddings…………..
  16. Ugh, I wish I had even an ounce of artistic capabilities! And it's not even that I am not "creative" it's that I can barely draw a stick figure!! I'm so jealous, because I would love to be able to make my own invitations and have them come out as beautifully!! When are you planning on sending them out?? Our weddings are very close to each other, but if you're already working on invites I'm assuming you're going to send them out shortly?
  17. Ahhh, this made me LOL!! "i do not want to be april in a yellow jumpsuit on the top of my wedding cake" - hysterical!!
  18. To be totally honest, I think that I'd be a little put off if I traveled all the way to X Location (I'm not sure where you are getting married) and the bride and groom didn't provide an actual dinner the night of their wedding. I'm not saying it has to be sit down, white glove service ~ and believe me I TOTALLY get the trying to save $$ part, but if you're going to do a "cocktail party" you'll need to have tons of food to fill people up. My fiance and I are also doing the destination wedding because it is going to be so much more affordable than getting married at home, but I think that it is important to keep in mind how much your guests are spending so that you can save money on your wedding. I didn't see, but is your resort an AI? If it is that does change things a bit.
  19. I really love this dress for my bridesmaids, but the back is totally open (which I love) but one of my sisters is, should we say, VERY well endowed and I don't know how she would wear a bra with it ~ and believe me going without a bra is not an option. She's not a big girl, just very busty...............................
  20. I wanted to stay at or around $2000, and surprisingly the dress that I think is going to be "the one" is $1,060 ~ I'm pretty sure it's the first time in history that my "champagne taste on a beer budget" hasn't created an issue!!! Woo hoo!!
  21. Thank you Tammy. You have been very helpful! My fiance and I are very excited to be getting married at Now Sapphire and we are looking forward to working with Teresa
  22. Thanks for posting this! So far Teresa has been nothing short of spectacular, and we are 110% going to move forward with her. I just had a slight panic attack after reading that post, but my own experience with Teresa has been very positive. We're getting married at Now Sapphire a month before you Yay!
  23. We are using Adrian from Victor Herrera. The package that we booked at Now Sapphire does include a photographer, but only for like an hour or so ~ and my fiance and I definitely thought it was worth it to spend a little extra $$ to hire an outside guy. And Congratulations on your wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
