  4. Phew! i'm getting ready to book him myself, we managed to get the hotel to honour the $500 that they had told us previously. thanks!! we printed the letters in a normal font and drew their shape with a paper on top, we're graphic designers so these things come easier
  5. Hi Amy, have you considered a beach reception? I know that one of the options our coordinator offered was to have a big long banquet table. You may find this suits you better, have you given this some thought? Will the children be at the party? Would the parents be open to babysitters? just so you know what the options are... Melissa
  6. just wanted to show our DIY luggage tags, we plan on mailing these in the new year along with an info brochure. These match our theme and hand drew the letters ourselves! i think they turned out ok

  8. exciting! we have 65... although we're legally getting married here first. our planning is pretty much done, just doing the final details of decor and that, all venues and extra services are booked and ready to go! cant wait!!

  10. Yeah, 4 hours is really all I need I think. All receptions end at 11pm at which point you have to relocate. If your reception starts at 7 you're ok!
  11. Hi, we will be using their DJ. They are pretty open in terms of music, you can either supply them a list of songs or give them a cd with music. You can even email them in advance if you have any questions, the DJ's email is [email protected], they are nice and responsive. there are some perks to having a DJ, they provide party props and the mic for the speeches. Hope this helps!
  12. I know! I'm so excited!!!!!! I can't really speak for the resort photographers, I'm bringing my own photographer but I did book Playa Weddings as videographers. Good luck!
  13. I'm also getting married on the sky deck and I did have to pay. It was $1700 with a $200 deposit. Keep in mind tho, if it rains, you will not get the full amount back... they keep some of it which sucks!

  15. Hey mbowling, I'm planning of taking them on the plane with me. My bouquet is made of calla lilies and it's quite long, my box is also pretty big, I was planning of getting a small box in width to put it in and trynig to stuff it inside my big luggage bag. Only option I guess!
  16. Hi Nada, 1. I recently made up my mind and decided to go ahead and get a videographer. I will regret it if I dont. I also want it because there are people who won't make it that will want to see it, plus it's a memory forever. It's worth getting a good one too so you're not stuck with the same shaky video everyone seems to have. I feel it's worth the ridiculous $500 vendor fee. 2. I'm also bringing some stuff, my TA told me the fee was $50 but she's trying to wave that as we didn't really get any perks. 3. I will be having my hair done and so will 5 other girls. I've heard good reviews about both makeup and hair stylists. I'm sure they will be fine as they do this all the time.   17. For those of you who have booked video with Playa Weddings, how much was your vendor fee? What package did you end up choosing? I'm undecided as to what to choose if we have video at all but I feel I will regret it if I dont! Thoughts?

  19. I read in the how-to's you need around 3 for an average sized lantern. That's what I ordered, if I need more shipping is always free!
  20. Hi there, My TA recommended packing everything in between your clothes. Even if you had a few and you gave a few to others, I'm sure they'll make it there in one piece!
