  1. Hi again, Also, is anyone staying at the Barcelo in Puerto Vallarta? If so, do you know if they will do group bookings at their restaurants? Thanks, Kim
  2. Hi, I am getting very concerned about the 'new' prices everyone is mentioning. Other than the $300 photography price is there others? I booked last September with Kelly and also made it clear that I would be bringing an outside photographer but she said you only had to pay the $50 charge and that is what shows up on my contract. I recently emailed Denise to enquire about any new pricing and asked if they would be honouring my contract as is and she didn't mention any changes. So, I am really hoping I won't get any crazy up-charges when I get the final bill. Did any of the brides who have gotten married in the last month or so have any trouble with their contracts? Thanks again for all the help! -Kim
  3. I am also getting married on a Wednesday. The hour before may be even better than the hour after considering how early the sun goes down that time of year. Hmm...something to consider
  4. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I am really interested to know how everything turns out for you and look forward to your review
  5. Hi Everyone, My weddings not till November 2012 but I'm having a tough time deciding whether I want to get the extra hour on the island and whether or not I want to book the DJ. Just wondering how many of you ladies have gotten the extra hour and if you think it was really worth it? I have about 50 guests coming so it will be an extra $500. I also will have some small children there and wonder if it will be too long for them. My biggest concern is that the dancing time after dinner seems too short. What time do they actually get you to leave is it 10:30pm sharp or is it closer to 11pm when you actually get on the boat? I am also pretty particular on what music I want playing at certain times of the night and am leaning towards just creating play lists. For anyone who didn't get the DJ what is the sound system like and was it easy to do the music yourself? Also, who starts and stops the music for the ceremony? Last question, if you don't get the DJ do they still take care of the music on the boat to and from Las Caletas or do you bring your own music? Thanks!!!
  6. Your review was very helpful!! Thanks so much to all the past brides for taking the time to post their experiences. I love reading the reviews
  7. Hi, I also love the star fish bowls, so pretty. Also, did you bring the shell used on the ceremony table or did WC provide it? -Kim
  8. Hi, I'm not sure if I want to book a DJ for my wedding. The music is one thing I am pretty particular about and it sounds like the DJs often don't play the songs from your list. However, I am wondering if anyone knows who is responsible for playing the music during the ceremony if you don't hire a DJ, does the wedding coordinator do this or is it up to you to have one of your guests in charge? Also, does the wedding coordinator act as sort of an MC throughout the day letting the guests know what is going on next or should you have your own MC? I'm a little concerned about how all this is organized. Can anyone offer any insight? Thanks, Kim
  9. Thanks, I think that is also what we are going to do. We are staying at the Barcelo, which is out by the Dreams so it shouldn't be that far from Boca de Tomatlan. -Kim
  10. Hi, I have booked my wedding for November 21, 2012 and was wondering the same thing. I asked if it is possible to have the groom and groomsmen come over before the rest of the guests with our photographer so that some pictures could be taken in the sunlight and they told me that they can come over with the staff between 2-3pm but they leave from a small village close to Mismaloya and not from the Marina. I am thinking of doing this because I have looked at other people's photos and they are pretty dark after the ceremony. I don't think you would be able to get any shots in the jungle area and those are some of my favorites. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks, Kim
  11. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone has recently had any animals in their wedding (parrots or monkeys)? I have seen a few pictures with couples posing with both. Do you have to pay extra to have your photos taken with them? I was hoping to have an animal available for the hour after the ceremony for guests to take their own photos with and I thought it would be interesting for the kids. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, Kim
