  2. Thanks forthe info Bunnybride! This is for any Playacar Palace peeps....Does anyone know how long you can dance outdoors?( I am not talking about the beach as I understand there are Mexican laws about that) I just wondered if I chose a different outdoor location like the North or South Solarium at the Playacar Palace. Is it only until 11pm? Ideally I want to have my reception at 6:30 but I don't want to end the party by 11pm. Does that mean that you have to do the reception indoors? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hi Ladies! What is the price that Doremixx charges? I am trying to get a hold of him but haven't heard back. Can anyone tell me? I wanted to have the light up floor too if it's a reasonable price. If anyone knows the price for both it would be great!!! It seems some have said the floor is included in his rates but I wasn't sure.
  4. Hello Ladies! Just wondering if anyone knows who the inhouse DJ for playacar palace is? I am looking at a few options but not sure on prices as I have to factor in the outside vendor fees. What is the price for Doremixx? I am also interested in Dj mannia but not sure which to use. Are those approved vendors? I would prefer not to have to pay an extra fee but I also want a good dj. If anyone has info on this, it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks and happy planning to all !
  5. I can totally relate!!! I tried the package idea at first and that was so stressful that I abandoned the idea. We are just doing a room block now and everyone can sort out their own airfare! Good for you for getting that organized. Congratulations too!
  6. HI Smspringer13, My case is a bit different because I asked to speak to a supervisor as Janina who was suppose to be handling things had been away a lot. I was getting frustrated so I said to them that I needed this put in my contract right away or I would take my business elsewhere. I spoke to Gretal and she got on it but also passed it on to another wedding coordinator to actually draw up the contract. At first they said it would have to wait until Janina got back on October 31st but when I put my foot down, she said she would send it off in 5 minutes!!! Gotta love it huh?! Anyways, good luck!
  7. I am sooo excited too!! Just confirmed my wedding for May 11, 2012! I got them to put in the contract that it's okay for me to bring in my own dj and photographer. I didn't know about the extra "electricity fee" ...what a crock! Oh well, I will have to see later about that! I am just excited to bring in my own. By the way, thought you 2012 brides should know that I talked to a supervisor today in the Miami office and she said that they are bringing in some new wedding collections!!!! I am really excited because she mentioned that turquoise would be one of the colours featured! I actually already bought a bunch of decorations that I was going to add in to the diamond package but oh well. I am so excited to see what that is going to look like. It won't come out for another few months apparently. Just thought I would let all the ladies in on it! She said you can switch later if we want.

Hello Sharkyak, Are yo able to see or just ask the size of the safety deposit box- we want to bring down our small BOSE system so we can play our ipod,m but I am not sure if it will fit width wise in the safe. Sorry, I know it's kinda random but it would be nice to know if this is a possibility! Thanks!!!

  13. Hi Everyone! Just wondering if someone can tell me what kind of fees you have been quoted for bringing in an outside photographer or dj. I was first quoted $88 (the cost of the resort fee) but now they have said it's $300 per person that is an outside vendor. What is going on? I am getting really frustrated. If someone has already gotten married this year and used an outside vendor please let me know what they charged you. Thank you sooo much!!!

  15. Yes Absolutely! The more pictures the better of each venue site that is available for private functions. Also, if you get to sample any food, let us know how it tastes! I want my wedding reception on the beach but I am worried about doing a buffet meal. Also, if you can find out what it would cost to rent out the banquet room for later (eg after we are kicked off the beach, so we can go dance!) Are you planning on doing this for your wedding??? You must be getting super excited! Thanks!!!
  16. Sorry, but can someone explain to me what 75 room nights means? Is that if you add up all the days that your guests have a room eg. 7days = 7 room nights? Totally haven't heard this before and I am confused? Any clarification would be great! Also, does this have to be directly booked with the hotel or can it be with any stay that you book through other means like online, other wholesalers ect... Thanks everyone!
  17. Hi there! As far as the time, I have heard that due to the Mex. Government all private outdoor events are suppose to end at 11 pm. You might be able to push it till then if you ask them. They probably prefer 10:30 just so they can take down stuff. I have a question though about this unlimited private event... How do u qualify? Does air and hotel have to be booked with the hotel? Any help on this would be great!
  18. Hello! Thank you for posting all that information. I was booked at the Azul Beach but I am now looking at Playacar Palace...just waiting on confirmation. I wanted to ask if anyone knows about the costs of cocktail hour and also for having a private reception on the beach. I called and spoke with someone but I think she gave me the wrong info. She said all I had to pay for was $12 pp for a dinner/drinks on the beach. That seems way too cheap, and after viewing the Pdf's it seems wrong. Can someone please clarify on the prices for dinner and also for cocktails at a terrace? Also, how much are decorations for tables? And does anyone know how much it would be to have an open bar extended for an additional 2 hours? Thank you so much !!!!
  19. Hi Everyone! I am new on this site and was just wondering if anyone has updated info for 2012 regarding bringing in an outside photographer? I am actually booked at Azul Beach but I am now having a change of heart and wanting to have my wedding at the Playacar Palace in April 2012. The Azul Beach charges $800 for outside photographers which is crazy. I don't mind paying for a day pass but more than that is ridiculous. I have heard mixed things on here but it's also a bit dated, so if anyone has more recent info it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
