Hi ladies, I just have to say that the Playacar Palace was a fantastic location to have my wedding. I see Matt from Del Sol posted my pictures. They did such an awesome job and I would highly recommend them. They are the pictures that are just a few posts back. Mariachi band was also great. Good luck with planning!

Oh, I forgot to mention ladies that I had my wedding reception on the beach and it was the best decision ever. It felt private, romantic, and with the mariachi, absolutely perfect! We used a mariachi band for only $ 500 for 45 mins and it was a highlight. They had such beautiful voices. They even serenaded us! Soooo special! Also, you guys should know that you can have a beach reception late into the night if you like dancing. We did ours until midnight but for an extra few you could do it even later. It was wonderful and really quite private as nobody is really on the beach at night. Just thought you should know as the palace documents say that you can't go past 10pm but that's not the case:)

Hi! Sorry I haven't been on since the wedding! Our wedding was amazing. Everything was so well orchestrated. The set up fee was $65 ( per event) and I did the diamond collection. I did however bring my own decorations too as you can see from the pics that del sol posted. By the way, del sol was sooooo amazing and next weekend is our AHR where we will be showing off all of their hugely talented gift of photography. Just book them, as those pictures are priceless and will be the one thing that remains after that very special day. Wilma was amazing and so helpful. Don't stress it ladies, it was picture perfect! My only complaint would be with dj doremixx who showed up 2 hours late! Luckily, Wilma had the resort dj cover until then, and I didn't notice until she told me. Doremixx never apologized nor offered an explanation. They didn't even come up to say hello! Oh well, I didn't let it bother me, but I wouldn't be booking them. Otherwise, the Playacar Palace was spectacular: small, quaint, with excellent service! All of my guests were really impressed! I did my hair and makeup with styling trio and they were awesome! I totally recommend them! Good luck ladies!

Hi Vazworld, Thanks so much for posting all that information! That's so helpful! I am super excited about the mariachi option...it is way cheaper than what I thought it would cost. I think now I may actually go for it. It just seemed soooo expensive before. $500 seems quite reasonable especially for 7 people. How did you hear about them? I just want to make sure they are legit and do a good job. I checked out the facebook page but do they have a website? Any testimonials from people who used them? Are you sure about not having to get day passes for all of them??? Sorry for all the questions but I just want to get all the info before I decide to book them! Thanks so much.

I have read on here that it was $65 so that seemed reasonable but now it seems the prices are changing daily! Thanks! I really appreciate it. I am getting married in May so there is no reason they should impose more money if you are getting married after that.

Hi Wisa2178, I booked DJ Doremixx for my reception and he also has the light up dance floor. He also apparently includes some free stuff that Mania doesn't and he has a fixed rate of $800 for up to 5 hours which is longer than Mannia. He also has really great reviews. We are going to do the light up dancefloor and that's an additional $700 but it will look awesome on the beach where our reception will be. Just thought you might want to look another good option if you are still crunching numbers! Cheers!

Hi McLecker, Just wanted to give you a heads up in case your agent didn't tell you but the waters in Cabo are not swimmable as there are very strong undertows. It is a beautiful destination but many people are unaware of this. If you're more of a pool person but don't need to get in the water, this is a great place. However, if there are lots of kids or you happen to like going in the ocean you may want to choose somewhere in the riviera instead. Just a thought!

HI Vazworld, About the lanterns, how are you planning on setting those up? Does PP provide you with a large pole type thing to string them on? Just curious because I am looking at hiring someone for lighting. Thanks!

Hi Sharky00, Thanks so much for the info. I am probably going to get the light up dance floor. It's a little pricey though! What I'm also concerned with is lighting on the beach. Did you purchase any lighting ? I also wanted those lights that go under the tables... So cool! Did you do anything for that or did you have enough light in the solarium ? If there are other brides out there that have already had a reception on the beach, I would live to know what you did on terms of lighting. Or was it even necessary???

Hi Ladies, Just wondering if any past brides out there know how good the musicians are that are included in the poackages. I can have a solo musician play for my ceremony as part of the diamond package but I am a bit worried as to how good they are. I wanted to have "Forever in Love" played with the sax by Kenny G. Even if some of you had a guitarist or something it would be nice to know about the quality. Thanks! Also....for those of you that had their reception on the beach, did you need to get special lighting or was there enough lights from the resort??? I am having dinner and dancing on the beach so I just wondered if I should start looking for lighting options. Thanks!

Hi ladies, I just booked hair and makeup with Adrian and Christian. After all the glowing reviews I figured why not. The nice thing is that they are located right in playa del Carmen so I can get my hair trial and save a bit on paying outside vendor fees. I will have them come to my room on my actual wedding day though. .

Hi Everyone! We were able to do a room block and that made it SO MUCH less stressful as we did not have to worry about flights. You just book the dates that you want and then everyone can book their own airfare. People can use points to fly, go with a cheap charter or any airline of their choosing. In the end I found it to be so much more flexible and it is actually cheaper . I am booked at the Playacar Palace and I am so glad we just booked the rooms only. If people are thrifty they can look online for the best deals. Just a thought.

Hi Perry1217, So nice to hear that it all went well! Your picture of the two of you on the beach is amazing!!! Was it windy? It sounds like you said it was a bit... Just curious. Also, did you have to go to the spa to get your hair and makeup done? I would prefer to stay in my room. Did you do a trial too? Also how noisy is the pool area in the day? I've been reading on tripadvisor that it's really loud at the playacar... I was hoping it would be a bit more relaxing. Any thoughts??? Thanks! Hi Ziki, I totally agree about del sol...way too much! I love them but I found that la Luna was almost as good and cheaper but definitely not cheap! As far as Fernando , I emailed him but haven't heard back. Im not sure I have a good contact number for him... Can you provide me with his email? I would really appreciate it! On a side note, just wondering what you ladies are doing for your guests as a thank you if anything. I am not doing Oot bags because it would just be too heavy to transport but we are going to do a catamaran cruise one day before the wedding. It seems like a really great company. They are called Paradise Catamarans, and are really well rated on tripadvisor. Just curious what everyone else is planning!

Hello All ! Just wondering if anyone can tell me how windy the Playacar Palace is? I am trying to consider various hair styles and wind might be a something I should factor in...not to mention that a few of our guests are sensitive to the heat and we are getting married in May. Any thoughts from those that have either been married there or have been to the resort??? By the way Chesandjack, I would NOT recommend using the resort photographers. I am going with La Luna (Jonathan) . They are the sister company of Del Sol and they do amazing pics but are cheaper than Del Sol. I am doing the Diamond Package and I am also bringing turquoise to add to the white which should look great! I also thought about doing the complimentary package but I think I would have to do so many add ons that I think I might just stick to it. I am so glad I locked that price in before the new "pure" collection came in...it's way overpriced! Plus the diamond collection includes a soloist. Can anyone comment on how good the solist was? I want to have a sax soloist. Cheers!

Hi Echraide! I had to specifically request Ivan and when he wasn't available, I had to specifically request Temo. I have that on my contract as the dj that will be attending. They tried to tell me that a dj would be assigned at a later date but I said I needed to know before booking. I hate to say it but you may not get either if you didn't request them. Try to do that now and hopefully you can get one of them. I am getting married may 11 2012. I have no idea how many dj's they have but I wouldn't bank on it just being either or since they didn't want to assign a dj until the last minute. Good luck!

I just wanted to let you all know that I ended up booking with them a few months ago. I didn't get Ivan but I got DJ Temo and I have heard good things too so I hope I won't be disappointed! Not sure yet on the dance floor as it almost doubles the budget though!

I totally agree!!! I was so excited before and just feel that they are not all that nice. I think the only nice one is the purple one, but that's not the color I want to go with. I was really looking forward to the turquoise and I really DON'T like it. They better let us still do the old packages because that is what we signed up for! I am getting nervous though....especially considering that none (including the complimentary wedding) have the chuppah the way it was before with fabric drapping beautifully. Very disappointed!

I might actually try to get a MAC girl to come in. We'll see! I heard there was a MAC so I am so excited! Also, just on a side note, has everyone noticed the new wedding collections??? I was actually looking forward to maybe switching but now, I am not so sure. I didn't really like what they did with the turquoise themed wedding. I liked the chuppahs that they had before more. Also, they better not charge more for the wedding collections that we already locked in! I decided to choose the "diamond" collection and will add some of my own colors like turquoise chair sashes to it. Does anyone happen to have what the old packages include? They took them off the website and I don't want to get screwed! I wish I had made a copy. I am still deciding if I should go for a complimentary wedding or not...so hard to decide.

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone who gas been married could shed light on the make- up ANC hair situation at our resort. I know that there is a Mac in Playa del Carmen, but it might be too hot to venture out on my wedding day. I would ideally like to use the hair and makeup peeps at the hotel just so I can chill out and stay cool in the a/c but I want to make sure that they are good ! If anyone has had first hand experience with this it would be great to know. Thanks!

Hi Novbride, Thank you so much for posting those pics. They look amazing! I want the turquoise colors too but I am rethinking the organza after looking at yours! I have already purchased it but it looks like your sahes are way more vivid. What material was it? I ordered from the same company but I like yours better. Were they satin? Or that taffetta crinkle or L'amour sashes? Better yet are you selling them? I would love to buy them! Let me know as it is the exact color I want! Also, does the villa suite have a/c and do they allow dancing until late???? Not sure if you can answer all those questions but any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
