  1. One more thing to add --- my TA called both AirTran and American and they both have two group travel discount plans... Option 1: at least 10 people must fly the same round-trip itinerary (same airports, times, flights, both ways), they have special pricing [note: it wasnt that much better than the regular prices]. You have to put x number of dollars down for each person to solidify the group rate. Option 2: The airline gives you a discount code. Your guests book their travel (must depart within one week of the event, and must return within one week of the event) and apply the group code. As long as 10 people book you get a percentage off the lowest available fare for the selected flight (American's percentage off was 5%, and AirTrans was 10%). This is free! So I had my TA setup codes on both airlines for my event (Option 2). I am leaning more toward American bc I've seen better itineraries. So maybe ask your TA to contact the airlines to inquire. She said it was a bit of a hassel (waited on hold for 45 mins), but hey, that's why we have these TAs! To handle stuff like this! HTH!!
  2. Has anyone considered cake balls? I loveeeee them, and they have some staying power in the fridge.
  3. I suggest getting in contact with a wedding coordinator who specializes in destination weddings. They can send you places that their former brides used in locations you specify and in the price range you specify. I think there are some you can find on BDW.
  4. I think we will do a small registry for those who want to give gifts. It will be listed on our website with a disclaimer, but will not be printed on invites.

  7. We are having a difficult time with airfare also. My wedding is June 30, and I am surprised the prices are so steep considering its the off season. We have not found much better than $525 per person out of DC, NYC, or Boston, but most are around $550-$600. It just seems crazy to me bc I have never paid more than about $400 to fly to the caribbean. Maybe its this hype about gas prices supposedly going up over the summer? Anyway, Bing, my favorite flight search website, posts the trends and buy/wait guidance when you are within 120 days. I plan on checking then. I cant imagine it being worse than it is now.

  9. I am selling a brand new/unworn W Too Georgiana bridal gown. I ordered this item in October 2011 hoping to fit it by my wedding, and unfortunately failed royally. LOL So my loss (or lack of a loss) is your gain! The gown is size 12 with tags attached, and is in original (unaltered/no bustle) condition. The material is taffeta. The flower on the front is a brooch which can be moved to a different spot or removed totally. There are no stains or other flaws on the dress. It has been meticulously cared for since the date I purchased it. I am a street size 12, and this dress is about one to two sizes too small for me. So a street size 8/10 should fit it nicely. Name: Georgiana Original Price: $1,185.00 USD Asking Price: $320.00 USD Condition: New with tags Style: Modern Fabric: Taffeta Silhouette: Mermaid Neckline: Sweetheart Dress Color: White Train: Sweep Label Size: Size 12 Street Size: Size 10 Bust Size: 39.5 Hips: 42 Height (with heels): 5'8" Waist Size: 31.5

  11. Hi ladies, I am a new DPB Bride! My date is June 30, 2012. I did a spreadsheet that compares the various DBP wedding packages, and you can play with stuff like the number of guests, the type of dinner/cocktail hour (silver, gold, platinum), etc. to see what works best for you. I'd recommend downloading a copy and working with it in excel so that the buttons work. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4kazYb7m2VYYTdiNTYwOTctNTAxMi00NWI1LWJiMzMtZGJhYmJmM2U5NDE4 I feel pretty overwhelmed by the whole process bc of course I want it to be perfect. Also, does anyone feel comfortable disclosing the room cost your group is receiving? I want to see if what is being offered to my guests is competitive. They have been quoted for three nights, assuming two adults, in the regular (not preferred club room) about $499/per person. My travel agent will price match, but I want to know what the best rate out there.
