  1. That dress is beautiful! And your BM's dress is exactly what I'm looking for, but coral and short. How did you make your style board? Peach you're right. Coral is getting VERY popular. I'm sure there will be more options this summer! And I love, love, love your hankie idea. I might steal that! Venus, you're dress is GORGEOUS! Looks fabulous on you!
  2. Thank you so much Krys! I just don't see why everything that says "wedding" has to be so big and expensive! Seems like the hotels charge a ton just put together a simple ceremony. I'd definitely looking for something more low key and simple. I love all the pictures you posted for me to see!
  3. Did any of you "coral" girls have a hard time finding coral bridesmaid dresses? And also, what wedding dress are you wearing? I'd love to see pictures! The one I like is the Allure C143 but I'd make it more of a mermaid than an A line.
  4. Thank you! I just glanced at your board and that's exactly what I love! Such great ideas! I love the whole Pinterest thing.
  5. Oh my. THAT is gorgeous! Exactly the direction I love! Except I'll be using Coral. Do you have Pinterest? I'd love to follow you!
  6. I love ALL your ideas! I just love the vintage look. So timeless and all the DIY stuff is great for the budget! I appreciate you all sharing, I'd love to see more! Miranda, I want to see your table runners too!
  7. I would love to know from anyone who has gotten married in T&C or has lived there before, is there any way to do a very low key wedding on a remote part of the island. Like, not in front of the big hotels but away further on the beach? Nothing fancy, just dress, bouquet, officiant and family? Also, what was your general budget and did you stick to it? Thanks!
  8. Our love story - a chance meeting... A couple months after I had broken up with a long time love, I was coerced to take a road trip from Seattle to a very small town named Sweet Home in Oregon, about 4 1/2 hours away. I didn't want to go, especially since my best friend was going to meet up with her boyfriend. I mean who wants to be a third wheel after a break up? But being the good friend I am, I made the trip with her and after a long time in the car we arrived in the middle of no where. Literally. Her boyfriend at the time lived on a giant hill overlooking the small town. It was absolutely gorgeous. When it came time to go out that night I made it clear I didn't want to be that awkward "third person" sitting in the corner alone. I pleaded with them to find me anyone who I could hang out with. Guy, girl, didn't matter! I remember her boyfriend, Willy, looking through his phone to find any single men. He came to "Kolon". I told him I would not go out with a guy named "Kolon" (Pronounced Colon). It turns out he has spelled Colin's name wrong in his phone. He called Colin up and asked if he wanted to go shoot pool that night and agreed to meet us. The funny part is, Willy hadn't seen Colin in over a year. Later that night we headed out to Albany, a larger town, so we could have a few drinks and play pool. We had a great time and decided we would meet up the next day to swim in Willy's pond and go out to lunch. The next day Colin met us and we had the most amazing time. We swam, hung out and got to know each other. He was such a smart, caring and funny person and had the most amazing goals in life. He was motivate to become a chiropractor and go into business with his family chiropractic office. I remember thinking what a great husband he'd make one day but never would have thought I'd be marrying him. I never expected or wanted to meet anyone on this trip, especially since it was so far away form the place I grew up. Turns out, we fell in love over a long distance relationship and a year later we both made the move to Portland. Colin was in Chiropractic college for the first three years of our relationship which wasn't easy. I started my career as a sign language interpreter in a new town, with no friends or family. It was challenging but everything worked out in the end and we made the move to the small town of Albany to start Colin's career! We've now been together for seven, yes seven, years and are more than ready to get married and start a family! We've waited a long time for this to make sure we have all our "ducks in a row". Now that we're settled, more mature and know we're meant to be together, it's time! Our dream is to get married in Turks and Caicos next Spring and can't wait to have the wedding of our dreams! Colin and I at my best friends wedding 5 months after we met. At my sister's wedding 2 years ago. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride...until now! On our first trip to Hawaii together in February!
  9. Yes I love your idea for mason jars! But having a wedding in the Caribbean, I'm not sure how you'd transport them. But for a reception at home, I think that is such a fabulous idea.
  10. Quick question, I just looked at the Gansevoort for pricing on rooms. It said the most inexpensive room was $700/night. Is that pretty accurate? I was looking for April 2013. It seems crazy that my guests would have to pay $3500 just for 5 nights of vacation. Are you all paying that or do they offer discounts for guests? I haven't looked too much into the cost yet, so I'd be interested in any personal input!
  11. I'm following many of you. Mine is under Kara Handy if you're wondering who the "creeper" is that is now following you!
  12. Are there any vintage, either old style or modern vintage, brides out there? I'm thinking along the lines of a Ruffled or a Style Me Pretty kind of style. I'm finding it hard to mix the destination wedding and vintage wedding concepts together. It seems like a lot of people want to do the whole "islandy" feel and that's not really the direction I want to go. I'd love to do an island vintage feel. I'd love to see any pictures you have or websites you've found on this look! Thanks in advance!
  13. Thanks for the info Krys! That helps me out more than you know! I have been doing a little research here and there for the last year and I've seen your photography. It's definitely on my mental list of places I want to use! I know I will have so many more questions in the future and you guys do such a good job at answering the questions people have. I know myself and all us others appreciate it! I'll be looking into November as a possible wedding month!
  14. I would LOVE to get married in T&C this next spring. But it looks like we need more time to plan. SO, we were thinking of getting married next Fall. I have mixed emotions about the hurricane season. I know there's always a threat of hurricanes and bad weather but T&C gets over 300 days of sunshine a year so I feel like it may be ok? Does anyone have any experience with a Fall wedding - maybe October or November? Any input would be appreciated!!!
