Hi girls, I got photos of my completed dress. I ordered a replica of Impression gown style 10085. I ordered it with designer grade fabric and craftsmanship from Jasmine's Bridal Shop. See the following link for closer photos of the original dress. http://www.impressionbridal.com/collections.php?cat=22&p=6 My original dress. I asked them to make the train shorter. My replica dress completed. I'm generally happy with it, but I have a few things I'm not about. - The beading and crystals in the front neckline/above chest area look different from the original. I don't know how to describe it well, but the original dress has beading and crystals only around the edge of the front neckline I think, not all over the above chest area. Also I think the original dress has bigger crystals in the middle part of the front neckline and then smaller ones around the middle crystals. Hard to describe! - The crystals and beading in the front neckline is showing too much? In other words, the drape is higher in the original dress covering the beading and crystals a bit more? - The back drape doesn't look symmetrical... What do you guys think? Maybe these are minor issues that I shouldn't worry too much about? Does the dress still look okay? Also if I was to describe the concern I have with the beading and crystals around the neckline, how should I describe it? It just seems different from the original which I liked. If you look at the link of the original dress, you can see the beading close up. http://www.impressionbridal.com/collections.php?cat=22&p=6 Thanks, your help is appreciated! Kittyinheels

Hi girls, I have got some more pictures of my dress from James after Jasmine's Bridal had properly smoothed out the dress and steamed it so it's not so crinkled (makes it easier for me to see what needs to be changed). I think the dress looks nice and looks similar to the original, but I still would like some alterations done before they put beads on. James said that all of my requests can be done. They said that my beads will be rhinestones, crystals and seed beads. Can't wait! I purposefully chose a dress that is not hard to alter (e.g. not many beads, folds and symmetric, etc). I ordered the dress a few weeks ago, but I lost a few kilos since then, so the dress might be potentially big for me. I checked the dress' seams, and they have seams at the back and sides that my local seamstress can use to trim the dress if it's needed. I also asked a local seamstress to measure me (only costed me $10) before ordering. I also got them to shorten the train, so it's easier for me to walk around on the day. I have asked for both designer level fabric and craftsmanship. Also the material is chiffon with silk as that's the same as the original dress. My wedding is in Jan, so I got heaps of time. And I ordered a dress only a few weeks ago, and they are almost finished with the dress. That's something good about simple dresses too. Kittyinheels

Hi thespill, I'm so sorry to hear of your experience. Since you don't have much time left, I'd suggest you try asking a local seamstress who does express work to try and fix the dress for you. Hope it's not a complicated dress. I got an email from James from Jasmine's saying that they will be on holidays from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4 (public holidays over there). So I suggest you contact them straight away, and get them to pay for at least part (if not all) of the alternation cost. Make sure you keep all the emails you had with them, and you can use them as evidence that you have sent the correct measurements measured by a professional. You might even get the seamstress to state that in writing for you, and get the seamstress to write that the dress is not made according to the measurements you sent. You can scan and send that to them. If you have a receipt from the seamstress, scan that and attach that too. For photo uploading, you just have to move your mouse above the message box (there are many tool boxes) so that the arrow is pointing to the 3rd box from the right. If you point the arrow on the furthest left picture in the box, it says 'insert image'. You need to click that to attach photos. Hope this helps. Kittyinheels

Hi, I was told that Candy no longer works at Jasmine's as well. So like you, I am working with James for my dress. I was a bit worried so I contacted him and sent all the information, measurements and photos again. When I got the mid-production pics, I realised that he didn't know about my request about shortening the train length, oh well, that can be fixed... I also contacted him about embellishment. He said that my dress will have rhinestones, crystals, and seed beads. Kittyinheels

Hi guys, I received quite a few mid production photos from Jasmine's Bridal Shop. They sent me 12 photos all up (they are all good quality photos with both close up and zoomed out photos). I ordered the dress 10 days ago, so they are super fast. Having said that, my dress is quite simple. They asked me to give them specific instructions on what I want them to change. So I spent about an hour triying to work out things I want them to change. Here are the results. Have I missed anything? I am happy with what they have done so far, but there are a few things I want them to change as you can see in the photos I attached. They will be putting embellishment once they have fixed these things. Can someone let me know of their experience in using premium/designer grade fabric and craftsmanship by Jasmin's Bridal? Also, this fabric is supposed to be chiffon, but when I tried it on, it felt more like silk (it's quite thick, dense and heavy, but very soft). I dont' know how to describe that to them, has anyone had chiffon fabric that is not light and fluffy like the one I tried on in this dress? Thanks!
