  1. Or if the link does not work then go to etsy.com and type in "Menu Luminaries".
  2. try this...http://www.etsy.com/listing/64307619/menu-luminaries-unique-menus-table-decor?ref=sr_gallery_1&sref=sr_72a47173c1fb16f86623e1c45521f697e6d2b0809f23c10bd2ecc4045323b555_1339606461_14100486_luminary&ga_search_query=menu+luminaries&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_spelling_corrected=menu+lumanaries&ga_search_type=all
  3. OMG - That would be awesome! I'm checking with my TA now... BTW- I sent an email to the woman at etsy.com attaching the family style menu. She said you can fit the whole menu on 1. On one side would be salads & side orders and the other side would be main course & desserts. But the min. order is 20 lumeraries. I will probably need about 6 menu lumaries..not sure what to do with the others...
  4. oh alright....darn! LOL. I guess I will have to break the bad news to my cousin. But I was told kids under 3 are for free!!! I was not aware that there was a fee w/ baby food and toys. That is terrible!! I am going to have to ask my TA this! As always, thanks ladies for your input!
  5. quick question to past brides - I believe kids under 3 stay for free at AS. How strict are they with this age...meaning do they ask for proof? My cousin's son is just turning 3 a month before my wedding and I was wondering if he would get away with saying the child is 2 so he doesnt have to pay. Your thoughts? thx!!
  6. Hi! Did you attached the pictures to this post? or you are going to upload the pics on a different post? Just want to be sure we do not miss it! can't wait to see them!!!
  7. I totally agree with the other ladies.... at the end of the day it is about you and your FI beginning a new chapter!! Humm...i wonder if there are any other brides getting married the same weekend as you? Hummm...i have not seen the calendar with all the wedding dates in awhile....
  8. That is great that your guest list is growing! I am having my reception at Plaza Zava and not worrying about the weather. If it does rain, then I believe they move you into the ballroom area (esp if you have a larger group). Based on the reviews from past brides, they really do everything they can to spice up the ballroom and accomodate you. So although their reception was moved inside, it seems the past brides and their guests still had a blast. Hope this helps...
  9. I am so in love w/these too! I believe this is not glass. You just roll the lumie into a cyclinder. You have the option of wrapping it around a glass cyclinder. Or, it can stand alone. At least that is how I am interpreting the description...see below..i have copy & paste from etsy.com. So traveling with these should be easy... i hope. lol They also will arrive flat with double sided adhesive already applied on one edge of the vellum. All you will need to do is peel the backing off of the adhesive, roll the lumie into a cylinder and stick! You can place them over any standard tealight or votive in a glass votive holder (just make sure the glass is taller than the flame) or you can skip a glass holder altogether and just set them over any LED tealight or battery operated candle. Once assembled they are self standing cylinders and DO NOT have to adhere to glass of any kind
  10. Hi! I am sorry to say it is definitely either a min. 3 night stay OR $800 vendor fee. Not sure what the rules were way back when and I even remember reading older posts when the vendor fee was $600. But the rule now is 3 night stay or $800 vendor fee. Yippey!! so excited for you and can't wait to see your STDs. But i am a little confused...why do you need 150 posts in order to post your STD...am i missing something?
  11. Hi! what a small world. I actually work in Maspeth on Grand Ave, so I am right around the corner from you! I totally understand, it took weeks before my FI and I finally decided to go with Elizabeth Medina but of course we now have to keep the costs down on other parts of the wedding to make up for it, which is not easy...lol. -elaine
  12. jsal4 - How pretty!!! I love the menu luminary idea!!! I might have to borrow it! I have chosen the family style dinner. Do you think they would be able to fit the entire menu on the 1 luminary? or they might have to split? Thanks for sharing!! elaine
  13. yes, my TA is a GI certified with Karisma. Ahh..i never thought about the times being a factor but good point. Also, I just realized my quote price includes the round-trip transfers, so if i deduct the transfer fees then a regular jacuzzi suite for double occupancy for 3 nights is $954, so that is $318 per night for 2 people. Whew..ok, i feel a little better. thx!!
  14. thank you ladies - My guests are paying more than that, so I am going to discuss this w/my TA. This makes me
  15. Ladies - out of curosity, how much are your guests paying for a 3 night stay at AS? I know the pricing is a bit different depending on the section, but I just wanted to get a ballpark amount. Thx!
  16. Just wanted to share this sample bout I just received from Water Me Not. Not sure which bride suggested Water Me Not, so thank you to whoever suggested this company. I love it and think it is perfect since i really do not want to pay an arm and a leg for real flowers through Lomas. The bout is approx $17.50 and my calla lilies bouquet will be approx $110. I believe Lomas is charging 3x that amount!
  17. JennyBenz - Nice to see someone from NY on this forum! Sorry i was not clear..let me clarify. If you use an outside vendor, you either pay $800 or you add them to your guest list, meaning they stay for a min. of 3 nights. Since I am booking over 15 rooms, I will be receiving 1 extra room for free (3 night stay for double occupancy). So I am giving this free room to Elizabeth Medina and her assistant. So on my Wedding Detail Sheet, it states "photographer - outside vendor". But instead of adding $800 onto my package, my WC wrote "on guest list". If you are interested in Elizabeth Medina, I can email you her price listing and the different packages she offers. Just send me an email... [email protected]. Photographers anywhere outside of NY would be cheaper. lol. Do you live in manhattan? I use to live in UES, but my rent was getting ridiculous so i am now residing in bayside. DawnDean - Good Question - i should probably double check with the airlines, but I had planned on dividing it amongst my family and myself and placing it in the carry-on bags (of course wrapped tightly in newspaper). I have carried glassware before in my carry-on and never had a problem. But you never know these days, since they seem to change the rules on what you can and cannot carry-on to the plane. Sill not sure if i am flying AA or Jetblue but i'll call both just to be sure... And yes, i totally agree, this forum is awesome and its only b/c the brides on here are soo supportive and helpful!! BTW- i planned on buying the maracas when i arrive....i'm sure this will not be difficult to find.
  18. So glad you posted this question! I am budgeting for less since I am already paying for their hair, make-up, & dress. I am hoping to spend about $50 on each bridesmaid (i have 4) on something meaningful. Unfortunately, 2 out of the 4 girls are not big on jewlry. I am open to any suggestions. What about your groosmen? What are you getting them? Same thing, I am hoping to spend about $50.
  19. I am keeping the centerpieces very very simple. I do prefer to have flower centerpieces but lomas charges an arm and a leg. So I opted for simple and pretty. Not sure how much this will cost but I can't imagine it being too costly. At least I hope not.
  20. I booked with DJ Doremixx b/c he came HIGHLY recommended by many of the past brides and they said it was well worth paying the vendor fee of $800. His fee is not outrageous and if you do not add on extra stuff it would be about $800 for the night. Like you, I was having a hard time looking up reviews of the approved DJ's. I just chalked it up to most brides did not use the approved DJs? that is just my assessment.... As for the photographer, I went with Elizabeth Medina. Instead of paying the vendor fee, I have added her to my guest list since I will be receiving 1 free room. I looked into Claudia photo and Ivan Luckie photography, who also had great reviews from other brides. Unfortunately, they are also not approved photographers. sorry i am not much help on Lomas approved photographers and DJs
  21. This is the information I received from my WC, Erika Torres, on the smores bonfire. For $15/pp, it is not bad. And based on the pic and review from Amanda it looks like a lot of fun. I will try to remember to request for more lighting by the dessert table. My wedding is on a Saturday so I am not sure if I am going to have this event on thursday or friday night. I think I will decide this once i know exactly how many people are coming. INCLUDES: Invitation for all group members upon arrival Entertainment with Games for the Family & Friends (Marshmallow roast on the Beach Premium beverages service Prize: traditional Mexican sweets and souvenirs LOCATION: Zócalo Beach DURATION OF THE EVENT: 2 hours HOW MANY PEOPLE: Minimum required 12, Maximum 60 SURCHARGE APPLIES / Add on: Personalized shirts, hats, beach bags, traditional Mexican sweets and souvenirs Photo and video (Private Family Photo Shoot) Live music (Mariachi, Mexican Trio, Guitar Player or Live band Additional Time Grilled Smores on the Beach Marshmallows Fondues: White Chocolate & Dark Chocolate Toppings: Strawberry, Blueberry, Mango-Ginger, Apple-Cinnamon, Papaya, Prune, Muesli-Pears and Honey-Banana $ 15.00 USD per person
  22. Congrats!!!! And thank you sooo much for your detailed review. I enjoyed very much reading it. It was very helpful and much appreciated!! I am so glad you liked the smores bonfire since I was unsure about this. I am already locked into the Premier Swim-Up suite..oh well. Can't wait to see your pics. And thanks again!!
  23. Hi! tkuzma Yeah the makeup & hair prices are really steep. I just booked the appointments for each of my bridesmaid. $86 + 10% surcharge for makeup and same charge for hair. Since my hair and makeup is being done by my cousin and aunt, i saved on this end. I'm not sure about those deals being advertised. But I will say the past brides who have had their make-up and hair done by AS were really happy. The only complain that I remember reading was that they were slow. So they allot 1 hour for make-up and 1 hour for hair. Also, not sure which package you have, but I have the silver package and the bride's manicure is included.
  24. Mnd3A - so sorry we were not able to meet up in the city! Congratulations! And can't wait to see your pics!
