yes the gold seems to have everything. But I choose the silver b/c we are having a symbolic ceremony only. My FI and I will go to city hall right before we leave to obtain our marriage license and then head to AS for our symbolic ceremony. Even if you do a legal ceremony in Mexico it is still not legal in the US. The idea of having them draw blood from me was completely out of the question for me. I believe that is the only big difference b/w the gold and silver package. But I agree with Jenny, I choose the silver b/c of the extra perks that I know my FI and i would enjoy.

One word...unsuccessful. But I can only blame myself. I really did not have a clear picture of exactly how i wanted them to look. The 1st mock-up we did was to paint the wooded frame lavendar and then used a champagne/gold color glittered marker to write on it. I hated it. It just seems like any child could do that. So now my 2nd attempt is to paint a beach background onto the frame. I will work on that this week. A lot of unexpected events occurred yesterday so our time was very limited. If I still do not like the way that looks, then I may look into doing the wood burning and etch in the wording I want and my wedding date onto the frame. If i do go this route, then I will probably try to find some beach themed stencils (palm tree, starfish, beach chairs, etc) and etch in those as well. Its a work in progress. But I am glad my luggage tags are done! I just do not know which colors to choose. The original? Or the lavendar, since that goes with my wedding colors. Your thoughts?

GRRRR...how fustrating! I am sure you will figure it out and the totes will be perfect with intense labor of love!! I def give you a lot of credit!!! That is one DYI project i will not attempt! I wish I could give you some tips but I am sooo not crafty or creative. I am attempting to do personalized picture frame, of course with the help of a friend. We will be visiting Michael's this Sun to do a mockup...so wish me luck. Since I am having the photo booth and each guest will receive a 5'7' picture, I thought it would be a good idea to have a personalized frame for them to place it in. Good luck and i can't wait to see the totes!! I am cheering you on from NY

Hi! It is never too early to start planning... the earlier you start i think the better esp if you know the date you want. My Fi and I met with a TA who came highly recommended through friends. We informed our TA of the things that were most important to us, which was keeping the cost down but still having a high quality resort & kid friendly. We narrowed it down to 3 resorts, one of them being AS. From there, we did a site visit of AS to be sure we loved it and we did. For what you are paying, you are getting your money's worth, i think. The quality of food is much better than the typical all-inclusive and the Le Chique restaurant at AS is amazing. You will def appreciate Le Chique esp if you are a foodie. The downfall to this restaurant is that you must make reservations, which is difficult since it books fast and they are only open 6 days a week. The other part we loved about AS is how it is split between Adults Only section and kids Section. We have some guests who want nothing to do with kids so they can stay in the adults-only pool. And our guests who do have kids will be very entertained at how much they do cater to kids. If you plan on not having kids at your wedding, then I highly recommend the adults-only El Dorado Royale...this resort is really stunning too! As the other brides have informed you, AS is very pricey with the extra stuff and hiring outside vendors so you need to consider this if you are on a tight budget. Based on reviews from other brides, I do not recall reading any bride regretting having their wedding at AS. There were hiccups but there will be hiccups no matter where your wedding is. If feasible, you should do a site visit so you can see for yourself. P.S. the no bracelet thing at AS is also huge!! i hate how other all-inclusives make you wear that silly thing!

If you go to ebay and type in the search "coil bracelets" and "Vertical Transparent Plastic Card ID BAdge Holders Zip-Lock Top". I planned on removing the whistles and attaching the coil bracelets to the badge holder, which I am using as room key/money holder for guests. Since guests are placing money and room key in it, I decided to get the ones that have a zip-top so it stays securely inside the holder. Also, I plan on having printing something off of Vistaprint to place in the holders..not sure what design I am doing yet, but the standard business card size will fit in these holders. Unfortunately I do not know about the bracelets at Oriental trading.

tkuzma - Thank you so much for the recipe! Can't wait to try it out! sounds yummy!!!! thanks again!!!! Jenny - Soo sorry your WC is taking so long to get back to you. Honestly, I have not been experiencing the same. My WC in Fl, is Erika Torres and she is great! At most she may take 3 days. But in the beginning she responded right away. Maybe you can change WC?

Nicci86 - Great dress!! Perfect for a beach wedding!! tkuzma - I am purchasing my luggage tags holders and roomkey holders on ebay. 50 luggage tags w/worm loops are $47.76 + $5.75. I have not purchased these yet b/c I am hoping I can find another seller who is willing to sell for either cheaper or free shipping & handling. For the roomkey holders, I paid for 50 $10.95 free shipping. And I purchased 60 coil bracelet key chains for $34.95 (also free shipping). I wish I could purchase 50 but you have to buy by the dozen and 48 would not be enough. Humm... a creative love themed name...let me get back to you on this. Would you mind sharing the cocktail recipe?

Sorry this is such a bad pic. But I was told during my site visit that if it does rain, one of the option for the ceremony would be the area located right when you exit the lobby area. this pic looks bad but when they clear off all those tables and set it up the right way it is actully not bad. And right after the ceremony you can visit the Mojitio lounge which is right on the same level. If it is windy, then they have the screens set-up. But if it is only rain and no wind, they will not set up the screens so at least you have the resort's background as your scenery. Not sure if any other brides were told of other options. Yes, I almost punched him when he said "isn't it good luck to rain on your wedding day?" This isn't the typical "rain every day in the forecast for Cancun in the summer" so I do want to be prepared. We have a very small group so I'm hoping they have some nice, private areas and they don't throw us in the ballroom. Here's a laugh for you... I called Delta to find out what their policy is for carrying wedding dresses on board and they told me the things we've all heard before: "if there is room in the first class closet you can hang it there or you can hold it on your lap." I'm not worried about it wrinkling as it is lace but I was stunned into silence when the rep said "or you can buy a seat for it." hahahahahahaha Unbelievable.

Josephine - Love your signature drink escort ideas!! Your guests are going to LOVE it!!! I am curious to see how you are going to get your drink purple... lol. My colors are lavendar and champagne so we were thinking of the drink itself would be champagne color, which is easy and then sticking a lavendar umbrella in the drink.

Hi jenny - i know i have already commented on your link but i just have to say again how stunning your STDs came out! I showed my FI and looking back now, we wished we took the time in doing this. Although I am sure i would not have done the job you did!!! Amazing job! And can't wait to see more of your stuff!!

Hi! I am almost certain the room key is standard business card size. I did a site visit last year and I do not remember it being anything out of the ordinary. Also, past brides have posted pics of the room key holders they ordered for their guests and I remember it looking like just business size. Unfortunately, it is HIGHLY recommended you bring plenty of small bills. Between tipping the guy who drives you to AS and back to the airport, and tipping the cleaning lady, and hopefully a favorite bartender and the staff involved helping your BIG day turn out perfectly...let's just say it is better to bring it just in case....just my personal opinion.

Yes that is extremely high. For luxury jacuzzi suite, it should be approx $2,640 for 8 nights double occupancy. That's basically $165/per person per night. Some other brides were able to get $150/pp. per night but the range you should be in is $150-165. Not the quote you are getting. Is your TA considered a GI Karisma travel consultant (i think that is what they are called).?

jsal4 - I am doing the family style menu. I am having it at Plaza Zava with about 50 people. I am assuming its 10 to a table? Oh wait..is it 8 to a table? yes, would love to share the order. I will send you a PM so we can discuss... Past Brides - I believe I can go into town to pick up maracas? I wanted to know how much they were?? Does it make more sense to take a cab into town to buy them? Or should I try to find them for a really cheap price and then carry them with me to AS? Which way is the least expensive way? Your thoughts? Many thanks!!!!!!
