Yes I am having a sand ceremony. That is actually a good question, I am not sure if we bring our own sand or does AS supply it? But I do know you have to bring your own photo frame. There is a great one on etsy.com for about $80 (?) or somewhere around that price. But then I saw another bride who bought a shadow box frame from Michaels ($15 and you can use a 50% coupon so it will be 1/2 that price) and drilled in the hole on top so she can pour in the sand. I am attemtping this DIY sand ceremony frame project....click this link for more details.. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/74094/diy-sand-ceremony-frame

Rachel - No you are not crazy for thinking that way. You should do what feels right for you & your FI!!! I have learned through this whole planning process that there is no right way or wrong way. It is what YOU would like and how you envision it and of course what fits your budget. I am almost certain there have been past brides that did exactly what you hope or plan to do..cocktail hour after the ceremony and then using the private dinner (included in your package) as your reception followed by after party at one of the bar/lounges. I decided to use the private dinner, which was also included in my package, as a Welcome Dinner the night before my big day so all of my guests can get acquinted. Congratulations!! And happy planning! Quote: Originally Posted by RachelTX okay....so I've now spent a good 3 hours reading through this thread....I'm new here...I guess that's what you do? I've learned a lot. My biggest question at the moment...it seems everyone does a private reception. I wasn't really thinking I would spend the money on food and drinks...since we've paid for that already with it being AI. Is it crazy for me to be thinking this way? My TA is a GI travel agent so I can get the free cocktail hour and several ladies have said they were able to do this cocktail hour after their ceremony and then we have dinner reservations included in our wedding package. Should these dinner reservations be for the wedding night or a different night?? Would cocktail hour, dinner reservations, then moving to one of the fun bars be a fun/acceptable "reception"? I do not see my wedding being "formal" or "traditional" it is a destination wedding. Not sure what to do.....

Yikes. I am not sure how you would switch coordinator but I am almost certain reading somewhere you can't bring in outside dessert. I believe it is b/c of liabilitiy issues and god forbid if any of your guests become sick from the dessert, AS would not want to be blamed for it. sorry not much help..

Hi! If you visit this website you will find a lot lof useful information on the wedding packages and extras. Also, if you go to "register now", you should get hooked up with a WC down in Florida who should be able to further assist you with your wedding. Sorry to hear Canadians get different treatment...i am not too sure about this since I am from NY. But there are other brides from Canada on this forum who should be able to help you.http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/ Good luck on ready all the posts! i gave up! lol Congratulations! And happy planning!!! Quote: Originally Posted by jenya Hello brides! I am having my wedding in AS on December 8 ,2012. Spent the last 3 hours reading this forum which I found to be very useful. Started from the last post and only reached page 1456...so many more to go =)) How do you girls get your WC? I only have a TA who deals with everything...well, so far it was hotel/airfare pricing and booking of the date of the ceremony. We decided to go with the Sky lounge as we wanted privacy. I have no clue where the reception will be held and who is supposed to arrange that. I have the same trouble with the unreasonable prices for everything i ask....and very disappointed about unfair treatment of the Canadians. Did any of the Canadians get the discount eventually? Hope to get more useful tips and wish you all best of luck!!!!!

Jessie - Thanks so much!! I will check out the pricing at Michael's later today. Submersible LED lights do sound pricey.. lol. I am going to have to weigh out my options and see if doing my own LED throwies, as suggested by Murmel, is doable since I do still have some time and I am on a tight budget. Its crazy how things add up so quickly... Thank you soo much!! My FI and I are super excited and praying for perfect weather! How was it at night? Was it chilly? Originally Posted by Jessie Elaine - These are the LED lights we used: http://m.michaels.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Michaels-Site/default/mProduct-Show?pid=fl1253&start=6&q=Led%20lights They are submersible LED lights. They are probably more expensive than the type that Murmel made. I waited until the last minute to take care of this stuff, and at that point could not focus enough to make the throwies. But if you have the time and the patience, that would be more economical, because you obviously do not need submersible lights for the lanterns. These come in packs of 12, so if you could get enough coupons, the 40% off would be a great deal! The guys at the resort hooked them all up for us, and according to my husband, they used 2 lights each for the medium and large lanterns, so definitely buy extra. We had about 30 laterns, and Chris said we bought 4 or 5 packages of the LED lights. I'd hook you up with our lights, but they are only good for a certain amount of hours (can't remember how many), so I doubt they'd make it all the way through another reception! I just noticed your wedding date. Ours was Nov. 12 of last year. We had awesome weather last year at that time. You have SO MUCH to look forward to!

Hi Ladies - Looking for some advice... 1) Has anyone purchased sheers for the gazebo on the beach? If so, what size did you order and which website did you purchase it from? 2) I am hoping to hang paper lanterns during my reception at Plaza Zava. What size should i order? 12" lanterns? or 15" lanterns? Also did you place something in it to so it would light up? Thank you in advance!!!!

Jenny - thank you so much on the tip about the $5 rebate on the Avery Labels at Staples! Brides - if you need avery labels, you should take advantage and pick it up no later than 6/30 which is when the $5 rebate ends. I do not think it is on ALL labels but there will be a sign to let you know which ones do qualify.
