  1. Chelsey, I guess it would kind of depend on the situation that caused her to drop out? Did she have a personal conflict, family tragedy, etc that prevents her from coming, or no longer being able to afford to come? If this is the case, I think you could still give her the gifts to show her that you truly wish she could be there and that you support her back as a friend in her tough time. However, if she has just decided to back out on you, without being up front with you about her reasoning or simply because she's no longer a close friend, I would have to say I wouldn't give her the gifts. The dress is a tricky situation though... if you eat the rest of the cost on the dress, you could always try to sell it. Will the bridal shop charge you anyway if she doesn't pick it up? Or do they keep it and she just loses her deposit on the dress?
  2. Peach, I agree with the previous ladies... go with your heart! I think the best thing to do is to go out and try on both short and long. You might have that "moment" that you just KNOW that this is the dress. Then you might also realize you don't feel the way you thought when you're wearing one versus the other. And don't let anyone force you or pressure you one way or the other. This is your day, and you only get this once! Have fun trying on dresses!!
  3. Hi ladies! I am on VistaPrint (and addicted) and trying to figure out how I could use the free business card size magnets I can order. I already have sent my STDs, so I don't need them for that. I thought about putting a funny saying on them like "We partied with the McIntire Newlyweds in Siesta Key, Florida!" But I feel like maybe I'm just forcing it because these are freebies? Does anyone have any cute sayings or ideas how to use the magnets? I hate to let a freebie go to waste!
  4. I definitely think it's okay to give them a gift certificate. They can definitely use it at the gift shop!
  5. I have to say... I want to give Bubba Mugs, just from seeing everyone's posts and we're not even staying at resorts! We have a lot of people renting vacation homes and condos in Florida... but I think they could still come in handy!!
  6. First I want to say, those dresses are so cute! I love them! I haven't decided what I'm doing for gifts yet. I'm only having my best friend as a Matron of Honor, and there will only be a Best Man as well. I understand your concern in asking them to purchase their own outfit. In fact, my Matron of Honor has a dress already that we may just go with, so she doesn't have to buy another one. Its hot pink, and I wasn't actually planning on having pink as one of my colors, but I also fell in love with a bouquet that has a couple hot pink accents. Anyways... back to your questions lol, I'm trying to help out so she doesn't have to buy her outfit. But she has also made it very clear that she would go out tomorrow and buy a dress in a color I wanted if I decided I didn't want the pink. So I would think your bridal party had already had an idea that they would have to buy their dress or shirts or whatnot anyway. I think its really nice that you are treating them to a catamaran tour, so you are obviously providing them with experiences as part of their gifts. And the shoes and jewelry are a great gift they can use again, not just for this one time event! I was thinking about getting my MOH jewelry as well but I also want to do something extra special for her and the Best Man since they are the only two in our party.
  7. I thought I would just clarify mine about the login info I'm giving my guests. I did that so that everyone that takes pictures can upload their pictures to our album. That way we can see our friends & family pictures views of our wedding too, and we'll have them all in one spot! Hope that helps!
  8. Hi ladies! Too funny, I was looking to start a thread to see if there were any other Pittsburgh girls out there! I'm a proud 'burgh girl myself! I'm getting married in Siesta Key, Florida on April 14, 2012! It looks like all the ladies on this thread have already gotten married, so congrats to all of you!!! Hope to see more Pittsburgh girls on here in the future!
  9. Capecodder - look forward to seeing the pics of your own!
  10. Wow, your blog so far is AWESOME! I love how much stuff you've gotten done already! And you seem so organized, you know exactly what you want. I have to agree with everyone else... your bouquet is amazing! I never thought I would be a fan of a seashell bouquet, but it really is gorgeous. So here's my question... how are you going to keep from wearing all those cute outfits you found?? Haha, I think I'd be tempted to break them in if they were sitting in my closet
  11. Wow, you have done an amazing job, and your dress is gorgeous! I think I'm having a mini panic attack because I thought I was doing pretty good... but with 6 months to go, and reading your stuff I feel way behind! Ahhhh! Haha, well keep going girl, you're doing great!!!
  12. You guys look like you had an amazing time!! Your pictures are gorgeous!!
