Girllll you have outdone yourself Ms. Chanel. Boy I wish i could come and see this in action. You know i don't want to get all sappy lol but you really are and have been an inspiration to so many of us from day one. Before i even knew exactly what I was doing or even posted on this site my husband was making fun of me because i was saying coco wrote this and coco wrote that lmao. But when i reached out to you and you always took the time to answer and explain and give the best direction I knew you were more than super organized, outrageously creative & talented, and had awesome taste but you were an amazingly generous spirit- beautiful inside and out girl!!! Can't wait to see your journey chica. Lots and lots of pics because this is going to be the event of the century lol xoxo

How many suitcases did you take?
ladydi1844 replied to shelbygirl's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I just came back from my wedding in Mexico and I wish I had put some thought into this before I went lol. I had 8 suitcases. 3 personal ones and 5 wedding with 2 and a half being OOT bag stuff. It is so easy to get carried away and the 50 pound limit really hurts. If you are over 50 pounds than it is $200 a bag where as if you are 50 pounds it is $40 a bag. Your dress does not count as a carry on it is considered a special carry on and you can still have ur personal bag and a carry on. Try to make your stuff act as double duty. If it will work at the ceremony make sure you can use it for the reception. I had a lot of breakables and wasted a lot of space on packing it but the OOT bag stuff was the biggest nightmare. I wish I would have really reconsidered that but i have to admit everyone did love their stuff One tip we did a collection of friends and family for their old luggage that they didn't want anymore and we left 4 suitcases behind in Mexico so at least we didn't have to bring it back! -
If you are looking for a beautiful beach than do not stay at Moon Palace. I just got married there and I knew before I went that the beach wasn't great but you can't even go in it. They have other palace resorts with gorgeous beaches but moon palace has a terrible beach and I never saw one person try to enter the water. The pools were great and you can take shuttles to other palace resorts for the beach but you can't go in the water and it is gross and full of seaweed.

Thanks Actually that is just a rhinestone wrap from Amazon. It was only $9 and it did both my bouquet and my MOH. I just gave it to the WC and she had them add them to the bouquet. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0059Q760C/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details I have seen the rhinestone bracelets at Michaels but they were expensive and I needed a few because i wanted it wide. With this it is not a bracelet they wrap it around your bouquet. They have a lot of bouquet stuff on ebay also. Good luck!!!

Okay when I got home I found the name of the company http://www.nashvillewraps.com/raffia/paper-ribbon/c-038234.html like i said they are wholesale and you have to be a company but i just used my dad's company name and i don't think they care or check so just put anything in the company name. there is also a $25 minimum so if you want to shop around you are looking for this: wraphia II KRAFT 1/4" X 100yds 100% paper. I am sure you can get it anywhere.. Like I said I bought 9 rolls of 3 different colors and used about 15-18 strands per loop and I went through 1 and a half rolls for 15 8" starfish. I used the other half of the second roll to put in my pails at the kids table. Also I did not hot glue the starfidh until I got to mexico. I brought the raffia loops already made with me and the starfish wrapped up and hot glued them there. The raffia is naturally curly in the roll so it comes out perfect when you cut it. Use a folding chair to determine length because that is pretty much what they have there. Hey Shanna I PM'd you. I tried to email you but it got returned Thanks so much girl. I don't think they charged me. My WC showed me the papers with the new charges for each table and she said they were enforcing those I said when I booked I didn't have that info and left it at that. I gave her a $250 tip lol but she told me the resort was beginning to harass them about charging those fees. If you have it in writing they will honor it though. I did not because I had asked her in an email once but she never answered. Considering what I saved I wish I would have given her more money lol.

Thanks so much . Have fun it goes so quick!!! I did make the starfish ties and they were sooo gorgeous if I say so myself lol. I did not take a measurement unfortunately but I used three fifferent colors and just kept measuring the same length 3 at a time and used about a roll and a half of 100' rolls of each color for 15 starfish. I wanted to make 30 one for each chair but I just didn't have enough room to bring them so I compromised and the truth is I didn't even need that many with the chair sashes. She hung them for the ceremony on the aisle chairs and than around the gazebo and moved them to every other chair at the reception but it would have been fine to have a few at each table and our chairs like she hung them on. Any way I got the raffia at a great place it is a wholesale place and the 100' roll was pretty cheap and they had every color. you have to be a company but you can put any company info that is what i did. I have the name of the company at home and I will forward it when I get it.

I found the tags and labels at Michael's by Gartner studios to be the absolute best. And i ordered from staples and a million other places ...trial and eror lol. The ones from Gartner that are sold at Michael's come either label stickers or perforated in alll shapes so that after you print on them with templates found on their website than you punch them out and attach to your project. http://www.gartnerstudios.com/shop/wedding-supplies They were great. all shapes and some already have holes for attaching. or buy stickers and than attach to their gorgeous tags also sold in Michael's and don't forget to use the coupons I lived in there with all my coupons lol.

I loved the starfish it really made my bouquet pop. That is the resort bouquet and it was real flowers they did a fabulous job. But I love me some bling so I bought bouquet jewelry which is swarovsky or any crystal starfish on a long stem that easily sticks into ur bouquet. I brought with me a large crystal starfish http://store.thebridalbox.net/bjstarfish.html that's for the large one. don't get confused not too many people sell the large one it is 2" and I only did one of those ( about $17 plus shipping) and than I got 6 of the smaller crystal starfish for the rest of the bouquet http://weddingfactorydirect.com/stboje.html these are the smaller ones and usually sold in sets of 2 for $10 or $12. The shipping sucks because u have to get them from different places but they were so worth it. and than I got rhinestone bracelet for the stem. I gave it to my coordinator and they set it in my flowers.
