  1. I used my Ipod, and I didnt use an app just had each portion of the ceremony seperated into playlists. I also made specific instructions for the worker who handled the music.
  2. Hezmshaw, We got married in October there and we werent upgraded, but we were completely happy with our room and the location of it so we didn't care. Our wedding party upgraded all their rooms and werent very happy with them...the location of them sucked, far away form the buffet and the activities at night and with one of the rooms, their ocean view was a little sliver of it from the beach. So if you are going to pay the money to upgrade, maybe ask to see the room first
  3. I waited till 2 weeks before I started the music....sooo not the best idea haha. I actually watched videos on youtube on how to change the starting/stopping time and the fade in and out times as well because I wanted it to be as perfect as possible. We used a homemade version of Train for our ceremony (bridesmaid entrance and my entrance) and there was a very specific part of the song I wanted to enter in with playing so I practiced with all the girls from my wedding party until we had the timing figured out...had to guess a little on how long the walk to the alter would be in the chapel but we ended up NAILING it and I was so happy. I was really happy with the way the songs were changed and I would suggest altering them to your liking....I think I included the playlist for our ceremony on my review and if you need more help working on the songs just let me know and I can try Also try youtube...theres some gangster dudes video that actually helped me alot, I used it for every single song during the ceremony. Hope this helps Tulumbride
  4. Kaci- We used our Ipod and had each part of the ceremony broken down to seperate playlists ie. bridal party entrance, bride entrance, exits our ipod connected directly to the speakers
  5. Hi Bonnie, I just read your reply there and I did get a quote and I did send it to you did you get it?
  6. Hi everyone! Heres my review for Norma, I would recommend her to any bride she was amazing. We hired Norma for our destination wedding in Tulum for October. And she was fantastic!!! We had myself and my 2 bridesmaids for makeup and hair. She brought along her hairdress, Moses and he did a fantastic job with our hair. Communication: Norma was quick with email responses and precise in details Price: A pretty penny, her prices are quite high we paid $560 for all three of us for hair and makeup. ITS WORTH IT! Norma and Moses showed up half and hour early and were ready to get started as soon as we were. I told her I wanted a sexy smoky eye and showed Moses 2 pictures of what I wanted for my hair. Both of them nailed it. They were by far one of the highlights of the whole wedding, they were fun, professional and most of all they did such an amazing job with us. I wish I could have them down here in Canada! Bridesmaid hair and makeup all done. Norma, myself and Moses

  8. Hi texasmandy, We got all of our decorations back the day before we were leaving and the hotel staff brought it all back to our room in the suitcases we gave them. I should add that transfer was the only time something of ours was broken so if you have something important that you dont want broken you should make sure whoever your wedding coordinator at the resort knows about it. After our reception we all went to the disco on the beach and the hotel staff took care of everything else, so no take down or anything....its great!! just one of the many perks with a destination wedding
  9. We got our pictures from our photographers, yay!! Awesome Christmas gift....I havent posted any yet but I have them on my facebook page....theres pictures of Norma Zuramas makeup and hair, the chapel and our reception for everyone who has questions about them. I will be posting some of them on my review of the resort, Norma and the DJ Doremixx but until then feel free to message me and I will add you on facebook so you can see them
  10. They are 8inches, sorry it took so long to reply!
  11. Hi rootkl, We paid 1500 and that included: the light up dance floor $750 music and DJ services for 4 hours cold fire works (i think they gave us those for free it wasnt included in our invoice and we hadnt asked for them) Its pricey however we found it to be worth it, they were alot of fun
  12. We were there October.20-27 and the discotec was open for 2 nights of that in the actual room and then it was closed after that. But they totally made up for it, they had a disco on the beach. It was awesome!! we went there almost every night and it was so much fun.
  13. We rented one speaker and the mic, I had very detailed instructions on paper for the ipod operator (someone from the hotel) and it went well. Minor hiccup- once I had made my entrance we were standing at the front waiting a good 15-20seconds (which feels like forever when your nervous!) for the guy to turn off the bridal procession song, other than that it was perfect. Kiko didnt follow our timeline at all, and the music guy was able to play all the right songs at the right time. Also TulumBride, for your lighting question I think it will look fine without the lanterns. Our DJ also brought lighting with him, strobe lights, the dance floor was lit up and he brought a spot light with him for the speeches which was great. Have you looked into the lights for underneath the tables? We used them and they were perfect, added a nice romantic feel to them especially at sunset. They werent too expensive either.
  14. Hi Rootkl, There is no in house DJ at DT, they have stereos and a dance floor you can rent. When we priced it out, it was more expensiveto rent their speakers and dance floor with no DJ. We hired DJ Doremixx and they were great!! Worth every penny, my review for them is under vendors-DJ Doremix. We had no issues with bringing the DJ, you do have to pay their entrance fee and I believe we payed for their dinner however I don't think they ever did get it! We paid for one entrance fee because we thought there would be one DJ but he brought 2 other men with him and it wasnt an issue with it. Hope that helps!
  15. We had breakfast around 930 and started setting up right after that. I think we were the only wedding that day, so we may have had the run of the place
