Barcelo recently changed their minimum nights to stay to 3 nights. My TA told me about a week ago in went into effect. I also wanted to do the sky lanterns and my WC emailed me back that I could not do them pretty bummed about it! I would definitely sell them if you could find someone who is interested. Thank you for sharing the playa crawl info! I was looking to do something like that the first day we are there.

Anyone having a symbolic wedding, is the "Justice of the Peace or Non denominational Minister" the person who will perform the ceremony? The cost was included in the price of the wedding package, but I'm confused because I've read past bride say they had a friend or had to hire someone for $300 to do the ceremony. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Who is your WC? Ill admit in the early stages the responds were a little slow but once my TA contacted her with my reservations everything has been smooth. She emailed me right away with the spreadsheet and we have begun planning. Maybe you should try to contact another WC? I am getting married in May.

Thanks!! After I sent out the STD's I got a few responses. I asked them to RSVP on my website after they made their deposits so I have an accurate number of attendees. So far its going well. No one has replied no. I was kind of hoping to weed out the no's so I could save on invitations but I don't know how well that will work out. i also need time before the wedding to buy the decor and OOT bags.

Ahh sorry ladies I forgot another question about the photographer. I am having an outside photographer. Does anyone know the minimum nights I have to reserve for him at the hotel so I don't get charged the $500 fee? Is it 2 or 3 nights?

A few questions (again... ) -First, I'm having a location dilemma!! Since I have not been able to do a site visit I would appreciate any advice. I originally requested Coral Beach for ceremony and Playa Azul for reception. I emailed my photographer for advice and he suggests I flip the locations around. My DJ package includes a projection screen and light up dance floor. Can anyone tell me if I will have enough room for this at Coral Beach if I decide to change the reception location? I'm nervous will the amount of people (estimating 40-50) and setup I won't have enough space. I would prefer everyone to be comfortable and not be squashed together. Anyone else think the locations are better flipped than what I originally requested? It's hard to make decisions based on pictures. -Q2, Does Barcelo allow any type of wish lanterns? I've seen pictures from past brides but I'm not sure if they have changed there rules? I know a lot of other resorts have banned them. -Q3, I'm getting married in May, anyone suggest what month I should mail out the invitations. I recently sent out STD's in June. Also, what should I make the RSVP month? I don't know how long in between I should send them out. I don't want to be constantly sending people mail about my wedding and have people overwhelmed. I sent out the std's requesting an RSVP asap. No specific date. They went out around the second week of June and I already have 22 people booked. Although I have not gotten any no's yet. Ill let you know more as time goes on.

Hey past Barcelo brides I'm trying to decide where I should have my ceremony. We were not lucky enough to have a site visit and basically are planning everything based on pictures. I have chosen playa azul for the reception. At first I wanted to have it at 2 separate location (ceremony/reception) but now I'm unsure. I saw pics of the setup for a ceremony at playa azul and the landscape is gorgeous. Gazebo is definitely out as we want more of a beach setting. Just wanted some suggestions. please respond.
