Thanks ladies! We just got our professional photos back, I am going to post some more for everyone to see! Things that might help when planning: Flowers – Beautiful, the FREE bouquet was gorgeous and so was the free boutonniere. (We didn’t pay for extras, just used the complimentary ones and it was more than enough) Location – Beach Ceremony is on the beach outside of the ROCKSPA. Big crowd watching you along the beach and pool area. Its going to be HOT... There is no shade.. luckily our ceremony was short and many of our guests brought umbrellas to shade themselves. We did our cocktail hour and reception on the sunset terrace, which was so beautiful.. we watched the sunset over the lagoon. It does get a tad windy so keep that in mind.. we had some centre pcs that kept falling over, Also lighting is minimal but we made do without paying for extra (might be difficult for speech makers we had someone use their cell as a flashlight LOL) ** We ended up not doing the double ordearves and instead did ordearves and dinner because we had already been there for 4 days and had eaten at all of the restaurants and didn’t want it to be repetitive. I am a vegetarian and they always made me special, delicious meals. They even gave me a card so when i went to a restaurant they knew to make me something without meat OOT BAGS - We made OOT bags filled with crosswords, suduko, cards, eye masks, gum, sanitizer, first aid items (band aids, polysporn, Tylenol, tums) Everyone kept saying how much they loved the OOT bags and most used the first aid items. Excursions - We did a snorkelling trip and used the resort credits which was fun. Other than that we just went into town on our own. My hubby and I have been to Mexico 3 times previous so we’ve done all of the adventure parks, pyramids, etc. but if you have never been I would suggest XPLOR and COBA (because you can still climb it) Cyntia is awesome and will accommodate any request she can for you, she and the staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel like royalty. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Ah, what an amazing experience! Just got back and I wanted to share some photos with you! (taken on my camera, not our professional ones) Cintya (on site coordinator) was beyond amazing! Seriously, she was so great! Ceremony - Perfect, lots of spectators. (but could be my hubbys fault since he was at karaoke the night before and invited the entire hotel to watch LOL) Reception on Sunset Terrace - Perfect, great view, romantic! There was a group of 22 of us (most of us are frequent travellers) and every single person had nothing but positives to say about the staff, food, beach, gym, location, and resort in general. Everything was above and beyond our expectations (which were high). Also - I am a vegetarian and they gave me a card to present to all of the wait staff, in which I usually got a delicious special made meal All in all, I recommend this resort to everyone whose looking to have an amazing wedding and week with their friends and family.

Hello lovely brides to be! I am writing this from my jacuzzi at The Hard Rock Cancun! Today was our first day here, arriving at 2. This place is absolutely amazing. The staff treat you like royalty and spare no expense in doing so. I've already sat down with Cyntia, my on site coordinator and everything is 100% planned for Friday. In all, our wedding (not including hotel and air) cost us $1500. We are having a Bali bed, one large rectangular table for the dinner and IPOD station (a technician runs this) and mic/sound system. I brought one centre PC and 4 small table pcs, chair sashes, aisle decor, OOT bags, and part favours from home. The ceremony is on beach and cocktail hour/ reception will be held on the sunset terrace, where the views are amazing. We recieved a free room upgrade for our entire stay (which happens to be one of the best suites in the building) and our view is exceptional. I could go on and on about this place but will save that for after the wedding, where I will be able to post photos. I love this place, best vacation ever and it's only the first day. (We travel a lot btw) Will keep you posted after Friday and feel free to ask any questions!

I plan on doing something like this: -

I'll list and review some things...but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. The hotel itself was great. The food was wonderful, the drinks were plentiful, and the staff was very helpful...I have no complaints about the hotel...other than...the lobby bar is in the middle of the hotel. Since this is not an adults only resort, there were kids everywhere...including the bar area. Also, the discotheque does not open until 11:30 at night...which by that time most everyone was tired from all the activities during the day. Other than that...everything else was pretty great! The actual wedding day was so easy! They handled everything and I didn't have to worry about anything. Cintya is so very sweet and made sure everything went perfectly. I also had a friend be in charge of getting everyone down to the beach on time for the wedding...this helped a lot. I went with the complementary package and just changed a few of the details. First off I got rid of that gold tree branch thing. I went with hot pink roses for all of my flowers...including the ones in the vase at the alter. I changed the gold vase to a clear glass vase as well. The flowers were beautiful and I was really happy with the quality of my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets, and the groomsman's boutonnieres. The reception was held on the Breeze Terrace on the 3rd floor instead of the planned Infinity Terrace. Cintya said it would be better so we went with that and she was right. Everything was set up beautifully. You have your own personal bar and bartender. It was a buffet dinner, but it was tastefully done and I have no complaints. We chose the Mediterranean Buffet and the food was delicious! The only thing I changed on the menu was the fig tart to a fruit tart. One thing to consider...I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to spend the money to set up an ipod speaker system...I believe it is $395 for just 2 hours. I decided against it and I'm glad I did. There was another wedding reception just below us with a loud DJ and all. We were able to listen to their music and I didn't have to pay for it. So, you may want to check to see if there will be other receptions going on at the same time and what their music situation will be. I don't believe we would have been able to hear ours with the one below us going on as well. We used the hotel's affiliated photographer from Ocean Photo Studio. I was a little worried about using them without knowing which photographer we were going to get and seeing their personal work beforehand. I went with the deluxe photography package for $1,755. I am still waiting on getting my pictures and video back. However, in the meantime they sent me some pictures so that I could use them for our home reception. I'll post them in a separate thread so I don't take over this one. Please feel free to ask me anything about our experience. It sounds perfect! Im so happy for you guys, congrats! Our reception/cocktail hour is going to be on the beach.. curious what your thoughts about the beach were? Did you have any musical instruments play at your ceremony? We are having a harpist but my concern is hearing her over the waves. Did you find it windy or cold? Thanks!

Hey lulu0123! The cost per person for 1 week all inclusive at the Hard Rock Cancun flying from Toronto in February is $1700 including tax. We are just having the complimentary decor for the ceremony (and adding some personal touches Im bringing from home such as DIY chair sashes and pink rose petals for the isle) So that will essentially be free, maybe $100 for the decor Im bringing from home. I was told someone from my wedding party can decorate with the stuff I brought from home before the ceremony so I won't be charged an additional $100 set up fee for the resort to do it. We have earned a free 3 hour private function because of the number of room bookings we have. To have the cocktail hours on the beach it will cost an additional $6 per person. It is not costing us any additional money to get double the amount of apps since we are going to the restaurant instead doing the reception food. To rent the 2 couch lounges and the BALI bed it cost about $700 for everything including set up and delivery (I negotiated to get this price it was originally going to cost $850) $100 - Ceremony $96 - Beach Cocktail Hour (2 hours) $700 - Lounge Furniture _____________________ $896 TOTAL Ceremony and extended cocktail hour price There might be other things that come up or we want to add but this is our current total. I gave myself a budget of $1500 to spend but I am the queen of DIY and money saving so I’ve made it a personal challenge to do it for as little as possible. I still want it add some more personal and unique touches to it but that is where Im at right now for price. Hope this helps!

Oh, that sounds wonderful too! I was also looking for ways to cut costs down a bit and these seems to be a nice solution. I am curious when your wedding is? They told me that during certain months 6pm was not an option, the latest ceremony time is 4pm in February so that is what we went with. Also – I found out from Christina that real candles are allowed but apparently never go over well because they just get blown out (especially by the beach) so if you plan to do a candle lit effect you should take the LED ones. I know alot of us have been wanting to see photos of a wedding at the Hard Rock Cancun so when scouring the internet I came across these! http://www.appleheadstudio.com/2013/05/laurie-chad-the-hardrock-hotel-wedding-in-cancun-mexico/ ENJOY!

I think we are going to end up doing something a little different for our cocktail hour/reception. It is only our close family who is making the trek to Mexico for the wedding (about 16) so we have decided to not have a traditional reception. We have instead extended our cocktail hour to two hours and completely eliminated our reception. I thought it might be a little odd to have only 2 round tables of 8 in a large space plus pay for all the decor/set up in another location. Our ceremony is on the beach as well as our cocktail hours. We have decided to get a bali bed and some other lounge furniture as well as the high bar tables. I've spoken to Christina (my coordinator) and it's totally fine to do this. We will have more (double) h'orderves served than a normal one hour cocktail hour and will do our first dance, father daughter dance, kind words from those who want to say a little something all on the beach during the cocktail hours. We then will all go for dinner at either Ciao(Italian) or Zen(Asian) restaurants. What is everyone else planning to do?
