  1. I am also considering using Juan. I love his work, I just need to save the money so I can pay for him! I talked to Cecilia, because I was curious about if there was an outside vendor fee and she told me it was $150 for outside vendors. He is worth every penny though I think!
  2. I love that! Thats so pretty! I love that idea of different colored tulips they are gorgeous!
  3. Hey Cancun Bride, I love those too. I thought they were 65 too but when I asked Cecilia she told me the glass bowls with the starfish and candle were $35 each! I was excited to hear this!
  4. Hey Beachwed, How is the wedding planning going? I go in spurts of planning to not doing anything. I am trying to save costs so I am going to do 1 calla lilly for each BM. It looks elegant and simple. I definitely want my ladies to have flowers but nothing to overpowering because the beach is already so beautiful! (if those arent available I will do stargeizer lily's (im obsessed with lily's) I love this combination.. http://www.juanphotos.com/blog/weddings/dreams-riviera-cancun-destination-wedding-shannon-bradley-riviera-maya-q-roo-mexico/ What are your thoughts?
  5. I thought the same thing Jana! They are beautiful, but a little creepy for centerpieces for a wedding!
  6. Dear Jana I love the hit overlays! Did those come with the package or did you need to pay extra?
  7. You can find all the candy you can find in the US in Mexico at walmarts/ 7/11/ and Oxxo's. It may be a little more expensive (by .25 cents) but it may save you having to worry about it melting or give you room to pack other things.
  8. So I have a question for all the ladies who have been married at the Dreams..... When it came to the extras (and the taxes) did everything seem to add up very quickly and be very high? If so, How did you cut costs. Also I am worried about the amount of guests we invited? I thought my budget would be ok but looking with the taxes and add ons (additional alcohol) I think I have sent out to many Save the Dates. What percentage of the people you invited come to the wedding? Thanks for all your time and patience ladies (im starting to get a little nervous)
  9. Leigh, I remember reading you did a photobook as your guestbook? How did that work out? Did a lot of people write in it? I made one for my guestbook, and I'm not sure how it will go over. I loved your pictures by the way. They are all beautiful!!! Best , Ali
  10. Hey Ladies, sorry for posting twice, the first time i tried to post the website sent me an error message! I think Jana s right. The thing about the hotel is that it is NOT as luxurious as other hotels. My fiance and I looked at other hotels that were all more luxurious and more updated, however we kept getting the same feeling. As new and nice as the other resorts were, they didn't have the character or location we truly wanted and felt was our style. The reasons we chose this hotel was because of the location (there is No location in Cancun that is more beautiful). Location was important to us because we wanted a beautiful setting and beautiful pictures. We also chose this location because of all the positive reviews. Evertime I looked for destination wedding locations the Dreams kept popping up as one of the top locations. We felt comfortable in knowing that so many people had such a great experience. We also chose the location for the price and planner. We couldnt afford to have a huge wedding back home and could get all that we wanted at the dreams. Also Ceci and Claudia have so much experience and we didnt want to worry about the planning aspect. Finally, we chose the location because of the great reviews. Every time I visit this site I feel like I made the right decision! Dont worry about your guests! It is your wedding and where you want to have it is the most important. Your guests will have an amazing time wherever they go. You are in a beautiful place with so many activities. If your guests have a problem they can always pay for the guest pass (and stay somewhere else) or go to another resort after the wedding. Your job is to choose the place that makes you the most happy and enjoy your special day!!
  11. Hey Ladies, thanks for all the questions and reviews!! I am so thankful for the people that returned and have written about their experiences. I havent gotten married yet but my fiance and I are set to tie the knot on February 23rd 2013. I am praying for good weather. We did a site visit in February and I below I will post the link to the pictures I took. I wanted to see if anyone had their reception on the Caribe Beach. I have it booked but I am not sure with the wind how it will be? Let me know if you have any questions. My fiance and I were impressed with the resort. Although it isnt the newest I do believe it is the best location.. Attached below is a link of all the pictures that I took at the resort on my site visit. I tried to take pictures from all angles so I hope this helps... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/gallery/album/view/id/20311/user_id/44896 Here are a few below
  12. Hi Ladies, I just want to say I love everyones reviews and so appreciate them all. I have been working on planning a wedding at dreams Cancun since September of 2011, we are so excited/ a little nervous. My fiance and I took a trip to the resort for a site inspection in February of this year and I am going to attach some photos here for you ladies to see. My feelings on the resort: When I first went for our site inspection I was a little less then impressed. That being said it was raining and terribly windy (i felt horrible for the ladies getting married that day). My fiance and I returned the next day to look at the resort again and I fell in love with the location and the staff. Important Note* This hotel isnt the newest hotel but the location is the absolute BEST. I have yet to see a more beautiful location and my fiance and I visited 5 different locations (and were exhausted). The Dreams treated us like we were friends, were happy to answer all the questions that we had and all the guests seemed to truly be enjoying themselves. The resort is within walking distance to many things (shopping, clubs, restaurants and even a mall). Also, Cecilia is really great and has a lot of experience, which was really important or my fiance and I. We really wanted someone with experience. Shipping: I want to really warn and caution people against shipping anything to or from Mexico. I have been living in Mexico for 1 year (originally from MI) and the mail system is terrible here. It could take months for anything to arrive. I was still recieving Christmas cards in March. Below are some pictures of our site inspection. I still have 8 more months before tying the knot but Id be happy to help. I hope these pictures help!! Please let me know if you have any questions!!
