  1. Here is my Maggie Sottero Reese! I knew it was the one as soon as I saw its picture! Its so light and flowy and perfect for the beach! I leave in a week and a half and cannot wait to wear it!
  2. Amaya, The same thing happened to me. We actually calculated what it would cost us to pay for those guests to be in our room block (of course we were only paying the difference of what they paid with someone else and what they would pay through our block) vs. the cost of paying for a private reception. It worked to our advantage because we were close enough to receiving the next tier of perks to get the free reception. Something to think about doing if you are close as well.
  3. Your pics look great! I am glad to hear you had a wonderful time from beginning to end! Did you do the complimentary package and have Zuniga add the purple decor? It looks gorgeous!
  4. I attended a wedding in June at Excellence Riviera Maya. Everything was beautiful and the bride was happy! Best of luck!

  6. My Reese arrived a few weeks ago and although I am in love with my dress, I don't like the accessories that I have to go with it! I would love to see pics of brides in their Reese on their wedding day to see what jewelry, veil, accessories you wore and also how you did your hair! Thanks Ladies!
  7. WOW! absolutely stunning! Who is the designer? It looks gorgeous, like it was made for you! congrats on finding the one!
  8. Most of my guests are staying 4 nights and that comes to almost $800 per person. Plus our airfare right now is about the same as you, almost $600 roundtrip. So people are spending nearly $1400 for 4 nights and airfare. I travel annually and stay at all inclusives, including many in the Cancun area and yes, this is a very normal price. What sucks is that airfare is expensive and I dont think it will really go lower (my travel agent told me to have everyone book as soon as the air comes out because that is when it is the lowest). Paying almost $200/night for all inclusive is an excellent rate. You have to make sure your guests know that it seems expensive up front but once they are there, the do not need to shell out another penny. And food, alcohol, activities, entertainment, etc. is all included! Hope that helps!
  9. I am having a welcome/meet & greet cocktail hour on the Caribbean Terrace 2 nights before the wedding. Possibly a farewell brunch the day after the wedding but I think it may all be too much. I was just at a wedding in June in Cancun and the bride had a breakfast table set up at the buffet for 2 hours the morning after the wedding. So it wasnt a private function because it was the buffet but her guests could come and go as they please. But her resort seems more accommodating than MP so we would probably get charged for something like that!
  10. I was thinking of sending them in October, which is 6 months before the wedding. I do not know if that is too early though. What were you planning to do?
  11. I also received little response after my STD's went out. I waited until flights became available and then I emailed everyone on my guest list to remind them that its the best time to book because flights are usually the cheapest when they first come out. I got a few reservations after that email. Then I sent another email about 2 months after with the increase in the flight cost to show them that its going to cost them more the longer they wait. In both emails I stated that they should put a deposit on the room to ensure the group rate. It helped a little but I think most people will wait until the actual invitations are sent.
  12. I am about to book my flights for the wedding and am not sure how many days prior I have to arrive for a symbolic ceremony. There is conflicting information on their website and also the sales brochure. Some say 2 business days, some say 3. Some include Saturday as a business day and other do not. Some also say the will count a full day if you arrive by 12 noon, some by 3pm! How unorganized! Of course I sent out 2 emails for a comfirmation and have not heard anything! What did previous brides do, or what has everyone else been told?
  13. Thank you, I emailed Veronica and am awaiting her reply. Does anyone also have a contact for PSAV? The one I had is no longer valid.
  14. Its going to be back to weight watchers for me! I lost 30 lbs in 8 months and fiance lost 40. We took a break during the summer and both gained back around 10lbs. Crazy how 10lbs can make such a difference, I feel gross and my pants are too tight! We can focus again for the next 8 months until our wedding to get to our goal weight and to get toned! Weight Watchers really works, as long as you follow the program and we really did not find it too difficult. We ate "bad" foods and just accounted for it in our week. I exercise daily but my fiance hates to work out and he still lost more weight than I did!
  15. do you know what kind of services the DJ offers? Does it include lights, props, do they need you to provide the music? The contract they sent me does not describe any of that, mainly just the equipment provided and a DJ service.
