The ladies were great, they took us around the various locations for possible ceremony and reception sites. We went over the linens, the colors for flowers, etc. IT was WAY TOO LONG. Dragged on the entire day. Met with Perla the decorator rep from Alquima, the videographer rep from Blue Lens(not the actual videographer, some young lady who looked like she was barely 21.) Everyone's very nice and accommadating. Then the food tasting, that was delightful. Except when I got home. I realized we never tasted the cake. No apologies except the lady told me we'll do it the day before the wedding. Grr..Oh well. When we arrived we got upgraded to a swim up suite that was pretty awesome. I loved it. The decorating company is outrageous. Perla is sweet but her prices set by her company are extremely high. A simple rose centerpiece was 180 per table. I don't even have to pay for that in the States. I contacted Cherry Blossoms florist and they quoted me only 40 bucks. I haven't signed a contract or anything yet. I can email you info I have. PS. One thing that bothers me is their Alquima packages and pricelist are phony. It explicitly states DJ is 900 for 3 hours, but JSAV sends me their price which is 1200 for the same thing. When I contacted Paradisus they ignored me, not sure what that's about. There's a few things on that list that do not match the prices they gave me when I did the walk through with Perla. Not sure if I should pursue it. If I had to redo this I would not have picked this resort. Yes it's beautiful but the prices are like Beverly Hills prices. What ever they promise you in the walk through will be ignored by the reps in Miami. Then when you go back to the wedding planner they deny saying it. So whatever you do GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. It's a bait and switch scam. I understand it's money but it sucks.

I am using Wendy Hicks, she's amazing as you can see her reviews here. You can block rooms yourself but then you'd have to ask each guest if they booked and track it yourself. Wendy does their booking and gives you a spreadsheet of who's confirmed(who actually put down a deposit) . She's very thorough and organized. It's the best way to go and she doesn't cost you anything.

It adds up faster at Paradisus than any other resort I've looked at including the Royal. There's no charge at the Gabi Bridge for now... The flowers are ridiculous at Alquimia. For a simple roses (small) centerpiece is 180 USD, hello, in the USA it wouldn't be even close to 180. To have 3 orchids on my cake was about 38.00 still not sure about getting that. You can't have the Gazebo reception if you have children at your wedding, it's on the Perla side. The wedding planners are very nice and helpful so it helps soothe the pain of the costs. The pricelist they sent me were suddenly not accurate. I haven't brought it up more than once. They couldn't explain to me why the prices were different and why I am being charged a lot more. In the pamphlet pdf document it says DJ is like 900 bucks for 3 hours. But when I inquired about their in house DJ it's 1200 from JSAV. Not sure why.

When I went down for an initial visit, I was told by the wedding planner several things were included and even though I had two children coming to the wedding I would be allowed an exception to have my reception on the Perla side. and by the time I had my official visit, EVERYTHING was an extra charge and now I was not allowed to be on the adult side with kids. Sometimes I regret booking here. They are so much more expensive than any other resort in Mexico: from Gabi bridge fees, per plate charge, per person in the packages to flowers, decor, etc. The people who work there are super nice but it's been frustrating at times to have them stick to their word. GET everything in writing, word means nothing there. During my site visit, for some reason they forgot to include cake in the food tasting. So I was told I could schedule it day before the wedding. *sigh*

Ok ladies I need your suggestions! I need your help it's giving me anxiety. For those brides who are doing their ceremony on the Gabi bridge, once you guys kiss and walk back down the aisle...where do you go? Will you stick around to take pics? Is there a non-awkward way to exit the ceremony? In a typical wedding, after bride/groom exit the "church" or ceremony site, the guests throw rice or do some "send off" right? But...you're a bridge, where do we go from there? I feel like there's no smooth transition. Do we stop at the end of the bridge near the Gabi Club? What do we do? HELP!!

Oh wonderful!! I guess I'll be seeing you around the resort Mexico was wonderful, our site visit went GREAT! I am so excited, I wish July would come sooner. The Sunrise Grill is by the pool. Not to be confused with the restaurant called The Grill. I think for cooler months other than July and August (due to insane humidity) the Sunrise would be great. I always pictured my destination wedding to be outdoors but factoring July's weather I don't think my guests will be comfortable. Plus they might get eaten alive with all those mosquitos. The wedding planners Maria and Ana mentioned that if you do it at Sunrise, you have to put more effort into decorating such as uplighting and maybe lanterns since there's not much going on except for the lighting from the pool area. It's a lovely area and I would choose it had it not been for the humidity factor. It's a big area, enough for 100 guests I think.

$17 for $70 Worth of Custom-Printing Services from Vistaprint I just bought another one this morning. I used my 70 bucks quick last time. In addition to items for my OOT bag, I made a photo album for my family and stationary with my new name to surprise my hubs to be. http://www.groupon.com/deals/vista-print-nyc?utm_campaign=UserReferral_dp&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=uu303457
