Thanks for your honesty on all of this guys! Its super helpful to those of us that are planning. I was going to go with the 3,000 package as opposed to the free one. Would you recommend doing the free package or could your extra add ons been avoided had you booked the 3,000 package?

Leah- what wedding package did you choose?! I am trying to do my budget and we were figuring well over 10,000 for 100 people, but I may be doing my numbers incorrectly. Also did you ladies recieve a free upgrade of your rooms at all... I am so sorry for all of your headaches with Janeille, hopefully she either shapes up or is gone by my wedding!

Thanks for your input Susan! I am so frustrated with these negitive reviews of Janielle, I have yet to hear a bad review of Nicole at the suites or the WC at the Beach... I mean come on the Grand is supposed to be the the best resort of the three and yet everyone is having problems with this woman... UGHHHHHH!

I have only gotten the congrats email like 10 times, with 20 questions about what colors you like etc... and no quotes, I like you would like a quote, also so I can figure out if I should bring things or just suck it up and pay their prices. We are doing a cocktail hour after the ceremony, because we want to take pictures after and we dont want our guests to just be sitting around before the reception. But honestly everything is going to depend on how many people come... we keep getting people who are saying that they are coming and it looks like its about 100.. BUT when it really comes down to it I am interested t o see how many people actually book.

I agree I really like the chivalri chairs too and I think I am going to go that route depending on the amount of people going... I can not justify paying 800 for chairs if we do get 100 people going... I am still waiting to hear back from tai flora about the cost of the nice set up outside port maria.. But I am pretty sure you can use the chivalri chars for the reception and ceremony, because you are still paying for them to set up both places (if you had the chair covers/sashes you would have them at both for no extra cost was my understanding (i think they just move everything over)

Allie, in the end the WC at the grand said she would honor the 90% at all three properties and that we do not need to have a certain amount at the grand... we looked into half moon which is GORGEOUS and also grand bahia principe which I liked alot too... I would have been happy with the grand bahia BUT my only issue was that we were JUST at the iberostar, we stayed a week and we were excited about it, we knew our guests would love it so when we got word that she would honor the old contract we just figured it would be easier. My std's are in the process of being made right now I'm just waiting for them to ship, They are luggage tag magnets from ApriltwentyFive on etsy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them I can't wait to get them out. I am very upset about Leah's review because I felt the same way with Janeile and I was just figuring she was just busy with current brides, however Leah made it apparent that this is not the case and she pretty much just sucks (which was the impression my TA and I have been getting also). My only hope is that they get someone new who is detail oriented and actually likes their job by my wedding (apparently WCs at these places change very frequently) It sounds horrible I know... On the bright side though for you Allie, I have heard nothing but amazing reviews for Nicole the WC at the suites!!! It sucks... yesterday was the one year mark for our wedding (also our nine year anniversary--- were getting married on our 10 year anniversary) and I'm still annoyed with the Grand....

Hi Leah! I am so sorry you had a bad experiance. I have been having the same issues dealing with Janeile and I am very unhappy with her as well, I just don't know what to do about it... I have some thinking to do it seems.

when is everyone sending out their save the dates and invites. I am getting married in June 2013 and I am interested to know what you girls are using as your timelines?!

We did not do an official tour of the beach resort but we did go over there for some meals and hung out at the pool once which was nice... I never saw any of the rooms or anything like that but we liked the resort itself. We did not get one comp/discount or anything like that, it seems like they get so much business that they really don't care if you book there or not because if you don't someone else would... which was a little frustrating... we kinda were expecting some sort of special treatment or a nice gesture but never got one.. which was fine lol... hope that helps.
